I am an online shopper and when trying to replace the window covers for my bedroom, I went online and literally "landed"on the Shade Store website. Easy to navigate, helpful hints to take measures, and great optical helps to check samples and textures. Just a winner. Close to place my order, my wife decided we needed to go in-person to "really see" the samples... so there we went to the store in Strawberry Village in Mill Valley to find an elegant, comfy, welcoming and well decorated show room. Then, we met Emily Ritter who deserves 10 stars for excellent customer service. Although I ended placing the order online she made suggestions that were very helpful, and even gave us the magic solution to replace a hideous set of mirror doors for my closet... wonderful vertical panels. They look beautiful! Last but no least, I was wearing the installation, those people could be a different breed... but ours was quick, clean, efficient, fast and --believe it or not--thoughtful when dealing with an out-of-the code wall. I've been meaning to submit this review for months! Sorry, Quinn... We've worked with high-end workrooms for our clients and we were not sure that these shades would be as elegant. We were so wrong to have had any doubts. We were so impressed with the entire process that we will now use The Shade Store for our own clients! There was no drama at all. Yes, lots of drama from our workrooms and installers. Quinn was so helpful, patient, and responsive. They arrived a few week after we placed the order. The installer was very efficient and I had no problem getting the installation done on my schedule. What a wonderful experience my husband and I recently experienced with the Shade Store in Mill Valley, CA. We are currently finishing up a remodel, and we needed some sort of curtains for several windows in our house. We decided to go to the Shade Store in our community and we have been very happy with the company's approach to selling their products, their service and products. From the day we walked into the storefront in Mill Valley, CA and started the process, we had excellent service and the people we had contact with from start to finish were great! My husband and I are savvy shoppers and always look for quality products. Our friends have beautiful window treatments that we liked and they came from The Shade Store. So when we moved into a new house, we came here. First off, everything is made in America which we so appreciate and support. Secondly, the staff is completely professional. There are a seemingly endless number of details and choices for window treatments and from the first time we went in, Lisa Cohan greeted us and everyone in the store treated us warmly and professionally. Our windows face South and West so get a ton of direct sunlight so there are some blinds we simply couldn't use for that reason. Lisa Cohan deserves special mention, as we sometimes couldn't quite visualize what we were discussing so renderings were sent over to help us make our choices easier. She was patient in explaining to us the merits of what we were looking at. We are still ordering from her and wanted to give a huge shout out to Carlos the measurer and installer who is the most professional guy I have been around in a long time. He arrived on time, with a helper named Steve (who was also great, by the way) and installed about 20 window treatments. When I came home, I realized that they had forgotten one so I emailed Lisa and Carlos came over within 15 minutes to install the forgotten shade. We cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

I cannot speak highly enough with my experience at The Shade Store and Quinn Cosby. The shade I ordered was exceptionally long (160") and a difficult install. The shade shipped extremely well packed and their contract installer did a great job. The shade is very well made. Quinn proved to be extremely professional and knowledgable. I am a designer and had an excellent experience with the Shade Store. My client wasn't happy with the installation, because it felt too heavy - the style we had selected had too much fabric. The Shade Store saved the day for me by arranging an installation of the drapery in a more contemporary style that looks lighter. I have shades from The Shade Store in my city home which were recommended by my decorator so I tried the Marin Shade store for a small cottage in Marin. Emily gave the most incredible customer service I've had in a long time! I don't think she has the words "can't do" in her vocabulary. She helped with design choices, shipping and installing needs and was remarkably responsive. The shades are beautiful (I've had the ones in my home for five years and love them all still) and functional. They were produced, delivered and installed very quickly. Not only are the shades beautiful, but The Shade Store has outstanding customer service--some of the best that I have ever experienced. I would definitely use them again for other projects. After looking at the options and speaking with Emily, who was very helpful, we ordered two sets of shades--3 for my brother-in-law and 4 for our guest room. My brother-in-law needed roller shades with blackout lining to be able to sleep. We ordered flat roman shades with blackout lining in cream linen. Both sets of shades were beautifully made and very high quality. We had the installer the store recommended do the measuring and the shades all fit perfectly. The only issue was with the roller shades. They had been rolled by the factory in the wrong direction so that instead of seeing an all gray shade, you saw the white blackout lining at the top of the shade and the gray on the rest of the shade. I emailed Emily (who had been our very helpful salesperson) and sent her a photo. She immediately put me in touch with their customer service team. They scheduled the installer to come look at the shades to see the problem and try to re-roll the shades. He did re-roll them, but it then was extremely difficult to get the shades to go up and down. The Shade Store offered to replace the roller shades and did so promptly. The new shades look great and work perfectly. The customer service rep followed up by phone and email promptly and he was a pleasure to work with. I highly, highly recommend this store--they stand behind their products and the shades are lovely. We couldn't be happier with our new shades. read more
