Only giving a two star because of the burger is delicious. The service on the other hand is terrible. Waitress has an attitude every time we come in once a month or so. Can tell majority of the workers have an attitude or irritated. Strongly suggest adding cherry coke as an option. I asked if they had cherry coke and the waitress said they have grenadine, I told her that's great even better. She replied quickly with attitude "we aren't doing that tonight" If you aren't in their little "click" of a group you'll most likely catch an attitude from someone working here. read more

Always a favorite of ours. We had unusually warm weather for November and had planned on carry out to a park to enjoy the weather. But when we got here, the patio looked very inviting. We haven't been back since covid. Last time we tried they were closed. The sign said something about about updating things so that they were compliant. Honestly I don't know why these burgers are so amazing. They don't appear to be anything too impressive but for some reason they always are. Simple but good. Everyone raves about the burger from here and I can't believe it took me so long to go try it. I came on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a beer - they have a decent tap list. The burger wasn't anything fancy, just your basic burger but it really hit the spot. It tasted frame broiled kind of like Burger King? But obviously higher quality than that. Fries were enough to split between 3 of us. You can't beat the price. I believe the menu was limited due to covid but I kind of liked the no frills idea of keeping it simple. Charred, juicy, meaty and crowned with nothing but simple, straightforward toppings- shredded lettuce, thick onion slice, cold juicy tomato, and a mound of thin dill pickle chips. My favorite- the burgers come with giant, acidic pepperocinis. I love them!! If you come during the week, they offer a great lunch special with a burger, fries and beer (or pop) all for about $7. Talk about one of the BEST deals- not to mention BEST burger in Macomb county! This place packs them in everyday of the week. During lunch hours this hoppin' but they turn tables speedy fast! You can easily be in and out in about 30 minutes, unless of course you want to partake in a few drinks. Then, by all means pull up a seat and get comfy. Waitstaff is fast and efficient, I just wish they were a little more friendly. It seems more like a "business transaction" relationship then the friendly type, but that won't stop me from returning. The burgers awesomeness outweighs the lack of smiles and personality from the severs. That's the reason I knocked off that 5th star. Booze, beers and unbelievable burgers- thats Shamrock in a nutshell. Highly recommend! But.....you'll have to wait til September 2020 to get yours. Finally got a chance to eat at Shamrock! Much smaller inside than I had imagined, but was very clean. Service was super friendly and fast. By far my favorite burger location in metro Detroit. Utica is a cool downtown with a couple places but this place is always busy. In the summer the porch is a great spot. This is a simple chargrilled burger with all the fixings. Always consistent and delicious. The fries are pretty good as well. Honestly haven't had anything else here. I was excited to take my kids there on Sunday they wanted a good burger!! Let me tell you we had the worst experience ever won't be back!! We asked for medium/well burger and a couple well done burgers! All burgers came out extremely charred and unedible and with that being said they remade them of course still charred with blood red in middle my bread was dripping red it was disgusting and the guy grilling the burgers literally told the waiter that the burgers are fine it's just charred from the grill are you kidding me right now!! Definitely won't be back again!! Even our waiter was so sweet he said I had a right to complain because they deserved it he knew how horrible our experience was read more

I really can't give Shamrock more than a 3. I feel like people really overrate the burgers. They remind me of the guy who throws frozen patties right on the backyard grill for the party. The patty itself lacks seasoning in my opinion and they're often a bit overdone. The buns desperately need to be toasted/lightly grilled. And forget about premium toppings like bacon, egg, etc. The "seasoned fries" are just their base fries with some pepper on them - not really worth the small upcharge. But everything is nice and cheap, so bonus there. I just don't think they serve the best burger around like they tout - not even close. read more

It's been a few years since I've given The Shamrock a review and I'm very happy to say that they've really turned things around. For many years, they've served up one of the best bar burgers in the Metro area, but staffing issues seemed to have plagued them, so it was always up and down. I'd say that within the past few years, that has changed dramatically and they're back in their old form! The food is great and it's an overall great value; again, one of the best bar burgers in the area. They really keep it simple with the food and that's the saving grace. Monday, 1/31/22, Noon to 12:45. Soooo... I had been to Shamrock several times previously. Normally, the place is Great. Nice, Local Historic Watering hole for Social Gatherings, a quick Beer or 2 with a Buddy, or quick Business Meet-Up. Their Burgers are good, as well as the supporting bar-fare. The Pricing is Fair. I had met my Nephew there, to exchange some personal stuff. We each had 2 Beers & Cheeseburgers, & we split an order of Fries, which was PLENTY...The Waitress was Nice...Brunette, Cute, with a 'Ready Smile'... The Total Bill was 34.96, which I was paying, with my Nephew covering the Tip... but he needed change for a 20, which he got at the register. I had 'Signaled' our Waitress, & she brought the Bill. I prepped two 20's, & our Server's Co-Worker, Tall, 'Brush-Cut' Blonde Guy, took the Bill & Cash. Several minutes passed, then 'Brush-Cut' walks by, & says 'Thanks for Coming In'(?!) -- To which I replied: 'Where's my change?, you owe me a 5'....He says: 'The Bill was $34', to which I replied: 'No, it was 34.96'....Then he looks down at the Table, & seeing our Server's Tip, says: 'That's your change'....I said 'Nope, that's HIS Money', while indicating my Nephew....(we repeated this 'process' again, evidently so 'Brush-Cut', who was Confused - Wouldn't be Confused, any longer...) 'Brush-Cut' Stormed off to the Cashier, & Retrieved my Bill & Change, & upon Returning to our Table, brusquely deposited said items in my hand, with the Nickel Spinning Away, onto the Floor, while 'Brush-Cut' headed for 'Other Business', Neglecting to Properly 'Close' with ME (he was Aware that the Nickel had Fallen to the Floor...) After 'Gathering my Thoughts' - I picked up the Nickel, & as we were leaving, I handed it to 'Brush-Cut', while Stating: 'Here, you dropped this'... to which he had NO REACTION(?!?!) This is as Friendly as I can be in a Yelp review, when as a Customer, I had been treated so Rudely.... I could Elaborate further, but I won't....
