Stopped in for dinner when I happened to be in the area unexpectedly. Definitely has a home town vibe- very casual, friendly, and "shed" decor. The menu was mostly pizzas, burgers, Fritos dishes and hot dogs with some salads. Seemed pricier than I was expecting with burger baskets being around $15-$17. Ordered the mushroom Swiss burger on the sourdough and sweet potato fries. The burger was good, the bun was fantastic! Sweet potato fries were good but I've had better. Husband had a cheeseburger and regular fries. He liked the burger but the fries weren't his favorite. Waitress was friendly. Had a little snafu when trying to pay and the order had vanished but not too big of a deal and it was handled ok. Overall, a decent place but overpriced for what it is. read more

Very decent, very interesting a way this restaurant is compiled. Sure to hit the spot for many people, worth trying out. Price point is reasonable for food, ambience is comforting for those down to earth. Coming from a culinary background I was surprised at how well the food was formulated from ingredients to plating to variety. Plus the town is wonderful, the owner seems like she is a caring real person. But who knows for I don't work there. read more

Pretty dang cool, nostalgic place! We went house hunting with friends and decided to stop here for lunch. I've heard the burgers are pretty tasty. As we walked in the front door, we could here the strums of an acoustic guitar with a gentlemen, singing soulfully into a microphone with tip jar in front of him. Another star for him playing Pearl Jam and Green Day songs. We got sat in the back of the restaurant which was a bit dark. No worries though as I totally understood because we had a party of 7. I ordered the cheeseburger, and my wife ordered the Shed Pie which is their version of a Frito pie. We were going to share. One of my friends ordered the pulled pork nachos, which ended up being HUGE!! Our cheeseburger came out perfectly cooked and delicious. The fries were a bit cold and soggy. I should've asked for them extra crispy. The Frito pie was delicious! I ordered extra jalapeños (of course) and they were spicy and crunchy! Friend's pulled pork nachos were delicious he said but too much to eat in one sitting. Everyone else in the party ordered wings or a salad. All were good I'm assuming as I heard no complaints. Desserts were awesome! Banana pudding and piña colada cake! I think they're seasonal though. The service was legit as well. I definitely want to come back to try some other things on the menu. When I tell you that I picked up the burger and did not put it down! The sourdough bun has a light sweet flavor, matches perfectly with the patty and bacon. We went to the shed for a late lunch, and it was amazing as most places in Salado. Before I forget, I want to mention the waitress Lisa, who was amazing and gave amazing customer service! She was very familiar with the menu and had some really good recommendations, which I always enjoy when eating at a restaurant. We had the shed sampler, which was mozzarella sticks, hot wings and chips and salsa. We opted for the Dr Pepper wings (housemate sauce) YUM and and the kickin' bourbon. The ambience is much like something that you would see on diners, dives, and drive-ins. The food was great. My BLT was perfect and I will absolutely make this one of my staples when I'm in Salado. read more

Came to The Shed for lunch after walking around the shops. Staff was very kind and we were seated as soon as we walked in. We ordered the Shed Pie, Swiss Burger, and the Big Yard Bird (pictured). My sister thoroughly enjoyed the Shed Pie! It was nostalgic to childhood with the Fritos. I tried it and the chili was actually delicious! My dad got the Swiss Burger. He said it was pretty mediocre, that the patty itself was much smaller than the bun and pretty thin and it was lacking Swiss cheese. I got the Big Yard Bird chicken breast sandwich on sour dough, adding pepper jack, bacon, and jalapeños with regular fries (pictured). I genuinely enjoyed it! The chicken wasn't dry and I think the added jalapeños were much needed to give it a bit extra flavor. read more

This is a good place to the food was good and the service was friendly. They had a large party which required more of the servers time. She was supper sweet and worked hard to serve us as quickly as possible. We were seated on the back porch and it was not too loud and we could talk which is what we were looking for. Overall it was a good experience and we will return. The prices were higher than I expected but the food was good so that is understandable. I ordered the chef salad and it was loaded with goodies. I guess I just ordered the wrong thing--Shed Pie. I had to ask for extra fritos because there was no evidence they included them but upon further investigation, there were few but they were soggy. Staff was not excited to serve us and we had to keep calling the wait staff back for more things--pickles, ketchup, water. They charge $3.50 to substitute fries for the bagged kettle chips (they don't make the kettle chips fresh) and those in our party that ordered them, didn't eat them. The building itself is on a slant so if you suffer from any kind of vertigo, I would suggest you skip this venue. The chair I was sitting in had a huge hole in the cushion. Considering this place is owned by the same people who own Alexanders and Inn on the Creek, I expect a lot more. read more

The hot dog was not much more than concession stand quality and my wife became violently ill a few hours later. The service here is downright awful. Took forever to get our food. We never saw our waitress again and had to physically get up and find her to pay our bill. Take your money, your health and desire for good service to a restaurant more deserving. This place has a cool vibe and could be so much more. Here's a hint...justify your price by delivering something worthy of your price. When value does not exceed price, you lose a customer. My girlfriend and I came to this place to grab a bite to eat since we had a 4 hour drive on our hands. This place is perfect for a date night or even just craving good food. The food here is amazing and the outdoor patio is beautiful. The lights come on at night and it could not get more peaceful. This is an enjoyable venue and we always include it on our visits to Salado. But this note is for you chili heads out there. The portion for six bucks is very generous. I could not finish it but I swear on the grave of Frank X. Tolbert what arrived at my table was a bowl of spaghetti sauce. LOL. And my wife agreed. There was not even the faintest hint of chili powder or any other spice. There was zero heat. At least there were no beans. Hahaha. The food here was great- 5 stars for flavor. The customer service however, not so great. Our server barely gave us the time of day, acting annoyed to have to seat us and check back in for anything. They require masks to walk to your table (even those that are exactly 2 feet from the hostess stand.) I witnessed one employee tell a customer that it was "unacceptable" that he did not have a mask to step exactly two steps to the right and sit down at his table. It was a pretty hostile environment and the staff seemed like they were not pleased with people coming into their establishment. Passing thru Salado today, we stopped for lunch at the Shed. My husband had the burger, and he said it was very good. I wanted a salad, but the chef salad seemed like it would be way too large. We found this spot when we were driving down from the DFW area to find a home near Austin and we've been eating there ever since. It's worth the drive from Georgetown! Great wings, fantastic pulled pork nachos and sliders and EXCELLENT burgers. My favorite is the mushroom Swiss. If we are ever craving burgers this is where we head.
