This is really a cool place. It is NOT a Tex Mex restaurant. Google has it so wrong. First of all the staff there are a Hoot! Those ladies will tell you how it is! The food is great. I ordered a sampler and man it is a lot of groceries. Big platter packed full of goodies. Just that and a few beers, you are set. Going south, this will be my go to spot. It's a little off the beaten track, (not much), and the signage is not the best... guess I was looking for a big 'come on in' sign or something. Anyway, it's definitely worth stop. read more

My family and I went here this evening. Let me tell you, I WILL BE BACK! When we walked in, the place just "felt" inviting, on a Saturday evening, the wait wasn't that long either. We started off with the pulled pork nacho's and it was a life changing thing! So, so good. For every bite you take, you smile. It is HIGHLY recommended! I had The Shed Burger with Blue Cheese and Sweet Potato fries, and it was delicious. All the food that we ordered was worth sharing, but no one wanted too. Had high hopes based on reviews and a quick look at photos posted. Ordered a Sheepdog with chili and onions. The hotdog was huge-easily a foot long and bigger around than a quarter. It appeared to be (and tasted like) an all-beef hotdog. The problem? The chili on top hovered between room temperature and slightly cool. The hotdog itself was no warmer than body temperature. I tend not to send food back unless I cannot eat it, so I trudged through. Wife and kid each got burgers, which they liked. When the bill came, I was surprised to see a $1 charge for what amounted to 1 1/4 tablespoons of diced raw white onion. Willing to give it another try in the future based on reviews of the pulled pork nachos, so we'll see how round 2 goes. read more

Burgers, dogs, specialty pizza, and chili. Served in a basket lined with red/white checker paper was my quarter pound dog with a house chili. Most chili in these parts contain no beans. No problem. Opted for the standard kettle chips and a side of cole slaw. This side of slaw is a BOWL of slaw easily shared between the two of us - tangy and not overly creamed. My slaw went on top of the chili lathered dog on a bun. This is hearty food, not dainty food. Service was good. A relaxed social experience. read more

Alicia was great! Allison seemed to be very impatient and completely ignored my 90 year old grandma and didn't show her any attention when she was asking a question. My son and I found this place on a recent trip as we drove from Round Rock back to home in the Dallas area. We were hungry and wanted a casual sit down meal but not fast food. The Shed perfectly fit that need. We had the fried cheese curds appetizer which reminded us of northern Wisconsin where we lived for years. Great fried curds. Try them dipped in Ranch. Had the mushroom Swiss burger on the sweet jalapeño bun. My son had his on sourdough. They were both fantastic burgers; not greasy. Great fries, friendly service in small town Texas surrounding. Took my family here late this afternoon after leaving Temple on our way back to Austin. Called ahead to make sure they were open and had outdoor seating so we headed there. Cute place, great location. We got in and lady at the front asked me if we were the ones that just called and said we could sit outside. We decided since it wasn't crowded we would sit inside so we sat at the enclosed area with the round table up front. The food was amazing! Everything from the Pizza, Burgers, Chili Pie and banana pudding! Unfortunately our waitress was extremely rude and the lady behind the bar with the shield over her face was extremely rude to my son in law when he nicely walked up and asked for another beer. She told him "I'm not your server, you have to go back and order from your table." It's not what she said but how she said it!!! He was so upset that she had treated him like that! He felt as though he was discriminated against as he is part African American. We got out to the car and my daughter realized she left her expensive Ray Ban sunglasses on the table so I ran back in as the lady was cleaning our table and asked her if she saw them and she just said "NO" very abruptly and that was it! This was right at 5 p.m. We would recommend this place for take out but I would never want to take my precious family back. We had been on a family outing to a pumpkin patch all day and were hot, tired and hungry and just wanted a fun family dinner but this really threw us in left field discussing our treatment on the way back to Austin. The pizzas here are very very good. First visit, but I will be back. We shared the barbecue pizza, the pulled pork pizza, and the baked potato pizza with jalapeños. Believe it or not, the bike potato pizza was probably the best - it is outstanding and full of flavor. The banana pudding dessert was very tasty and a nice end to a wonderful meal There is a note on the menu that this is not fast food, but good food. Relax, have a drink (they do have a full bar) visit... Or something very close to that. Our wait for the food was not very long at all but it was worth whatever wait we had. She made recommendations for us to order and made us laugh while continuing to take care of us and others. We had the most delicious burgers, nachos and chili. Seems we have found ourselves a new favorite pizza place! Even our 7 year old, who is very hard to please food-wise, reached over and grabbed another piece before she was done chewing on her first one, and that says it all! We were attending an event at the glassworks, and since we were in the area, decided to try one of the local eateries and ended up at the Shed. We were quickly greeted by a nice waitress, and seated. Very nice, cozy restaurant, the vibe was great, very casual and a "familiar" vibe even though we had never been there before. We decided to split a half portion of pulled pork nachos. And luckily for us, she asked us if we wanted full or half portion .... because the HALF looked more than full when it came out, so I can't even imagine what the full portion might look like. These pulled pork nachos were A-MAZING! I literally licked the napkin at the bottom of the tray to make sure we got everything....lol. We did stick with the coleslaw on the nachos, and it was so good, I wouldn't want it any other way. As long as you steer clear of the jalapenos on there, this is not a spicy dish and fit for everyone at your table. (At least everyone at our table went nuts over these - I'm drooling a little as I type this in fact ... ;) ) Then we also had ordered a baked potato pizza for everyone to share, and it was also amazing. It had a ranch sauce for pizza sauce (instead of the regular tomato sauce), which is probably why it was a hit with my daughter because she's not too into normal pizza sauces. Furthermore, the pizza was loaded with baked potato toppings and I don't know what else I can say except rave about how tasty it was. We will definitely be back here for more. Everything was delicious and she swore by the sweet potato fries (yuck!). The service was good and their choice of beverages is outstanding. She had a "three sheep" margarita and I had an IPA. Found this place on of all places, Yelp! It did NOT disappoint! The wings. Holy C**P were these legit! Got the boneless with the sauce medium. They came out still crunchy and the perfect amount of heat. The owl place don't stand a chance against these! Wife got the sampler (hence the wings) and I got a burger. Now I consider myself a bit of a burger snob. 2 things I can't stand are a bad bun and an over cooked burger. I usually have to order the burger as medium since most places do not know how to cook a burger patty properly. NOT the case here. Meat came out done but still plenty juicy!! SCORE! I had high hopes and left disappointed. We ordered chicken nachos, shed burger with fries, pulled pork sliders, Cesar salad, kids grilled cheese, & kids hotdog. The chicken on the nachos had chewy stuff (gristle? Skin? Idk, but very unappealing). Otherwise the nachos were ok. The lettuce on the salad was limp and very overdressed. The grilled cheese was missed, so the kitchen made one. When it first arrived at the table, the cheese slices weren't melted at all. We sent it back and asked for them to finish cooking it. I sent my salad back to the kitchen essentially untouched, apologized to the server, and said I didn't like it. The comment below that the service was mediocre is based on the response to sending back untouched food and having to ask for the grilled cheese to be cooked. Great dog friendly place. We day tripped it to Salado with our sweet dog Carlee. The were so nice. They brought out treats for her and a water bowl. Everyone was so nice and friendly too. The food was great. We had a party of 4. We got the cheese curds, wow they were so good. I had the black bean burger with sweet potato fries, it was delicious. My sister had the pulled pork nachos. I tried one, they were so good too. My nieces got a cheese pizza and the BLT, also great. read more

Stopped by here on a Saturday for lunch with a large group. They were able to arrange tables together for us, so we could sit in the back away from smaller parties. Great customer service, our server did an excellent job and kept all the orders straight with no problems. They have dining inside and outside if you can brave the Texas heat with plenty of parking in front and to the side. I had the shed burger with sweet jalapeño bun which was just that. It's not spicy and the bun is very soft and fresh and holds up the burger well. It does come with kettle chips. Eventhough the chips were crisped just right they were over seasoned with salt. Unless you enjoy salty chips, skip that and upgrade to the sweet potato fries. Those were cooked and seasoned well. Many in my group had the burgers or the shed skinny. There were no complaints on the salads. The vegetables looked fresh and crisp and the choice of protein was chicken and that was cooked well. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I would go back.
