Went here last night for dinner and a beer. They have a really good local craft beer selection but slightly overpriced for the style/area of this restaurant. Pints were $5.00 which is steep for a dive bar. I also thought it was strange that their pints were more expensive than bottles (even though you get 4 more ounces of beer with a pint). Its a dive bar in rural Wisconsin and draft beers shouldn't be this much. The food was OK - I had a 1/4 lb burger. Like others have mentioned, they charge a quarter per topping, so if you want lettuce/tomato/onion, it costs .75 cents more. I've never seen another place that charges for toppings in this fashion. My wife had some sort of veggie sandwich which she said was tasty. I cant comment on anything else really. I think this bar supports mostly locals because a lot of people knew the bartenders and called them by name. All in all, I will probably come back here sometime. Not too bad for Wisconsin. read more

I was disappointed. Saw a large advertisement on the way in and it is just bar food and nothing all that good at that. Service was pleasant but one meal was skimpy for the price. The onion rings, cheese curds were done well and good. The salad bar was simple, clean and fresh but nothing more than average. Dining area is small. I have heard that Freddies is much better food and the place to go when in town. Next time I will go there instead. read more

I haven't been to the bar so I can't review that aspect of The Shed, but I've eaten dinner in the restaurant twice and my experiences were pretty similar. Both times, the appetizer was served with the meal...which is a little perplexing. (And annoying when you're starving after walking 3 hours up and down winding pathways and ramps at House on the Rock!) That said, the food is really well-priced, but you get what you pay for. It's OK, but it's definitely not outstanding. The sauce for the chicken parmesan almost certainly came out of a jar, and the burger buns most likely came off the shelf at the local grocery store, etc.As long as you go in expecting that (and you should, given the low prices), you won't be disappointed. Good local bar food. Non descript place, my Bf and I sat at the bar. We both ordered the chicken fajitas and salad bar. It was okay. Fajitas came out sizzling, was missing a little spice, but what do you expect at a local watering hole.. We also had the Salad bar which was basic, and the potato soup was pretty good. This is a very cool place to eat if you are visiting the area....I kinda planned on eating here because of the good reviews and the menu online looked very tempting.....When we walked in, we were seated promptly and I noticed they had a Prime Rib special that night,,and even though we walked in a half hour before 5pm(when the Special was to start) they still were able to let me get it, which I thought was very kind of them...The kid loved her cheeseburger and the missus enjoyed her chicken wrap....the fried cheese curds were really tasty and my prime Rib was perfectly done...the salad bar was small but full of fresh veggies,dressings and great things to mix in your salad, like bacon and chopped ham....I had some cheesy potato soup that was very flavorful and I wish I had some now!......they have great beer on tap and the ones brewed by Furthermore really hit this beer geeks spot....I want to take a minute to really compliment the service here....It was very friendly and that made the whole experience even better....Tanya and the rest of the staff here are awesome!.....if you are looking to unwind in a nice relaxing place while you are around Spring Green...stop in read more

I've eaten at The shed many times. It's a nice place to raise a glass, and the food, while certainly not gourmet quality is dependably good bar food, with afar wider variety of types than you might expect. It's the most reliable place in town to eat. The outside dining is delightful on a warm night. One caution; Spring Green often has ferocious mosquitos. read more

Nice place, very nice people with acceptable service and food. The service isn't very fast but they are very polite servers. The Friday fish fry is ok if you get the fried fish (a little soggy though). The baked fish is dry and seasoned poorly. The fries are a little cold in the middle. We had to wait several minutes after our food came to eat because they didn't give us our silverware. The food flew out of the kitchen once we got our order in (which took about ten minutes before anyone noticed us). Once we were done eating it took about 10 minutes before the bill came, which drove me nuts! It is a family friendly restaurant on the dining side. They also have a bar (which I did not try). We recently had our Rehearsal Dinner on the back patio of The Shed and have a fabulous time! The atmosphere and ambience of the patio was extremely relaxing and created a fantastic environment for us to mingle and spend time with our guests. The owners Mark and Wynn did an amazing job of catering the event and were out there the entire time. They set up all the plates of food, along with tea light candles and flower jars to make the event so elegant! We had such a memorable time with our family and friends here! We found The Shed on yelp and the reviews were pretty good. It was around 11:45 a.m. when we sat down in the bar area.There was not a lot of customers and it took a few minutes to even be acknowledged. We almost walked out. The bartender could had said something to us. The witness came over, told us the specials, took our drink order and was back fairly quickly. We ordered burgers and fries. They arrived fast. We were looking for a supper club in the Spring Green area. This was listed in an area tourist book....stopped the car, read the menu on the OUTSIDE of the resteraunt and decided to go in....ALL the prices were 25% more then the menu on the outside of the building....as we came in...when we questioned it we were told,, oh well thats the way it is...Food was poor....salad bar and soup was 4.50 extra.....we ate there because we were so hungry, but need to know where else to go down in that area if we are ever down there again... read more

Well we found this place by suggestion from the great staff at Freddy Valentines. We had the opportunity to meet some staff, local actors as well as the owner. My wife and I came here for a night cap after dinner, and had no intentions of staying out too late, but the staff, the patrons and especially the Owner were some if the nicest people we meet on our entire trip, so we ended up almost closing the bar. My party and I were in town for a performance at American Players Theater, and went to the Shed for breakfast. You get what you pay for, and luckily the prices match the mediocrity of their breakfast menu. Atmosphere teeters between complete dump and drinking hole for locals. Speaking of which, this place caters specifically to locals. Staff seemed nonplussed as we were clearly not from the area, our waitress and the person running bar were two older people with apathetic dispositions. A pot of coffee was brought to our table, and the top of the pot was not properly fastened and when a member of my party was pouring themselves a cup, the top dislodged and spilled coffee all over the table and onto a few people in my party. The only time anyone from staff came to our table during the meal was when they heard the clatter. Several articles of clothing were stained but luckily no one seemed to have any serious burns. Staff did not offer a single apology about the faulty pot and were clearly inconvenienced. Barhand made a feeble attempt at humor directed toward the member of my party who spilled coffee all over themselves, but it came off as defensive and rude.
