My wife and I had dinner here while staying here for a few days. Wife ordered pork chop and I ordered the NY Steak. The food was fantastic and 5 stars in my opinion. Service was amazing!! It was a beautiful place to eat dinner at the ocean amazing views, amazing food truly a great experience. I will be back for sure..

We still come here for every special occasion and have never been disappointed. The outdoor seating by the ocean and pool are unbeatable. The service is always pleasant and quick. We had dinner, stayed the night and had lunch the next day. The scallops and the filter mignon were perfect last night. Their clam and mussel appetizer is excellent. Desserts are wonderful. This is our favorite place for creme brulee. For lunch, my wife enjoyed the garden burger. I had the excellent cod and chips with freshly made tartar sauce and coleslaw. The fries (chips) were crispy and great. We will continue to return.

Stunning restaurant on the water - giving Hawaii vibes during dinner! Clam chowder 3.5/5 Fish special 5/5 - fresh fish, super buttery mashed potatoes, with capers for a little pizazz. Service 5/5 I peeked at their brunch/lunch menus and the price point is even better so would love to come back for that menu. Reservations can be made online for parties of 6 or less. We had a group of 7 so we called it in and it was very easy to snag a res. We asked for outdoor seating and they were able to honor that request.

My husband and I have eaten here for years and are never disappointed with the food quality. This time, we brought several family members with us. (Very very generous of us because it isn't cheap, but you get your money's worth, and dining waterfront at sunset is priceless). Our server was professional and knowledgeable about their excellent wine list. My caprese salad was fresh and tasty and their mashed potatoes are perfect. The ample serving of pesto fettucine was delicious too. Our food arrived at sunset and the server took a great photo of us with the ocean in the background. A highchair and heater were provided upon request.

The Shoals is one of my favorite oceanside restaurants anywhere. I enjoyed dinner there again last night, and it reminded me how lucky I am to have it close to home. Open for lunch and dinner ( closed Mondays), it has indoor (is it raining?) And the oceanside outside tables. Service is quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The wine menu is compact, but offers a range of reasonably priced quality wines. Most are locally sourced. They also have a range of cocktails. The food menu offers a range of choices. All are well prepared and presented. Everything I had was delicious!

You can't beat the setting on a sunny day. The views are amazing. Service is friendly but not fast-paced. I enjoyed the ingredients in my Cobb salad, but the dressing tasted a bit off to me. Tropical iced tea was fresh and delicious.

Great food, awesome place to watch the sunset. Hey Yelp, why does my review need to be 85 characters? How about you give me a counter this is lame.

My wife and I ate here about 15 years ago and had an outstanding meal. We were hoping they had maintained their delicious meals, but 15 years is a long time ago. Fortunately for us, they were just as good as our last visit. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at a window table with an amazing view of the ocean. Our server was very friendly and provided outstanding service. We started with some wine that was very good. Not the best I have ever had, but pretty good. I had a merlot and my wife had a sauvignon blanc. We ordered the two specials of the day. My wife had the filet mignon with fingerling potatoes and steamed vegetables. She really enjoyed her meal. I had a bite of her steak, and it was a very good cut of meat that was perfectly cooked. I ordered the seared scallops with cheesy risotto and steamed vegetables. The scallops were very large and perfectly cooked. The risotto was outstanding, and I really enjoyed the vegetables. They were slightly undercooked, but in a way that I really enjoyed. For dessert, we had the candied bananas with vanilla ice cream. It was out of this world good. If you are looking for a great meal with amazing views, this is the place. We will definitely return, and much sooner this time.

This is one of my favorite spots to stop in for brunch, during a bike ride up the coast, I've never had dinner here but been this is about my 5-6th visit for brunch, it's a limited menu but everything I've tried has been delicious! I got the omelette today with a side of bacon and it was yummy, my daughter got the pesto pasta, I've had the fish and chips before too, pretty good service and calm quiet ambiance but the main show stopper is this view along the beach is breathtaking

We are regulars at this restaurant, great food but New Year's Eve Prime rib was the worst l have ever eaten, it was like eating rubber, we went with another couple that were regulars and l didn't want to make a seen. The best thing was bringing a $200 bottle of wine and paying the $25 corkage fee. I wish the owner would have cheapen out on a below average cut of meat.

View from patio. No direct view of sunset

The restaurant was busy, with tables pretty much full both inside and outside, but luckily we were able to get seated without a wait. I ordered the fish tacos, my son had the linguini pomodoro, and my wife ordered the cioppino. Everything was delicious. The seafood tasted incredibly fresh, and the fish in the cioppino was so tender it practically melted in your mouth. The broth was rich and savory--maybe a little on the salty side, but we still really enjoyed it. The service was another highlight. Everyone was kind, friendly, and welcoming, and you could tell the staff was working hard to make sure everyone had a good experience. I also really liked how diverse the menu is. There are plenty of choices for different tastes, whether you're in the mood for seafood, pasta, tacos, or something else. Overall, this was an awesome first experience and a great discovery during our trip to Carpinteria. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town, and we're looking forward to trying more dishes from the menu!
