It was our second time visiting this spot and we loved it! We were on our way back to La from Santa Barbara and decided to pass by. Ambience, food, drinks, service, everything was great. Ventura is a quaint little town so having a nice bar right next to the restaurant makes this spot very convenient for a night out.

Rumfish y Vino for Mother's Day. We made a reservation a week before and only had to wait about 10 minutes past our time, which honestly was not bad for such a busy day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a really cute Mediterranean/Italian vibe with gorgeous lemon trees and comfy patio seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was chilly outside, but the heaters made it comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was friendly, just very busy because of the holiday. Food took around an hour, but understandable for Mother's Day. The food was excellent. I got the flatbread with apricot jam and bacon, and it was such a good mix of sweet and savory with fresh arugula on top. Definitely recommend it. My boyfriend got the wagyu burger medium with fries and everything was cooked perfectly and served hot. Other people at our table got shrimp and corn, fish tacos, and burgers, and everything looked really good. Great place, will come back

After a recommendation from a friend, the fam and I went to this magical little spot in Ventura. We sat outside in the ferry lit alley. Service was exceptional. The server was sweet, knowledgeable, and she recommended a good wine and food. we had the quinoa salad to start, which was actually so delicious that I want to replicate the recipe if I can. Totally fresh and flavorful and ahem, healthy. We also had the goat cheese flatbread, which was absolutely delicious. For the Main, I personally had the hanger steak, which was fantastic. Great chimichurri and delicious broccolini accompanied it. One of my Rugrats had the burger which he said was the best Wagyu he's ever had. The other one had the cauliflower tacos and she was very satisfied. Hubs had the fish tacos which he devoured so I'm assuming he would give it a thumbs up. I had a nice cocktail to start and a glass of local wine to finish and I was very satisfied overall. I highly recommend coming here for a superb dinner experience.

We stopped in for lunch after our friends recommended we try Rumfish. We were seated on the patio by a very friendly and attentive waiter. He recommended a few drinks and an appetizer to get us started and they were all great! We both had fish tacos, and ceviche, both very fresh, delicious and filling. Our drinks were delicious, and the alcohol in my margarita may have been skipped, but it was still tasty. Parking was easy on the street and the area is full of shops, restaurants and bars. Very fun and safe to walk around. Rumfish was very inviting, not loud and we felt very welcomed when we arrived. We highly recommend a stop here. Cheers!

I had a few places in mind, what made me decide to come here was seeing their lunch menu. NGL I remembered the service not being the best but decided go anyway. It hasn't changed. We had to ask to ask several different people for the same thing. We enjoyed our food. The salad was chefs kiss. The outside patio is beautiful.

Found the best two appetizers!! Hanger Steak Garnachas and Conch Chowder. I absolutely loved the Hanger Steak Garnachas, the steak was perfection and combination with the rest of the stuff, especially the avocado and sweet potato was heavily. The Conch Chowder was a solid soup option too! My server Lea gave an outstanding service. Thanks Lea!

Lunch was amazing. Our waiter has absolutely amazing customer service. He seated us under a fan (it was really hot) and he checked the table as we were seated. The table wobbled and he instantly fixed it. The food was bomb, very refreshing and the drinks were strong being from the happy hour menu. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Somewhat overrated! I'd found Rumfish y Vino on Yelp and made a dinner reservation well in advance. When we arrived, we chose to sit on the heated patio, which had a nice ambiance with trees wrapped in string lights. For drinks, I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was fine - not as light and crisp as I'd hoped. We started with the Octopus Tostones, Tropical Ceviche (Special), and Smoked Fish Spread. Portion sizes were small, and none of these items really blew me away. The octopus and fish were both fresh with nice texture, but the flavors were just bland. I got the Mussels as my entree, which had a nice garlicky sauce. But the best dish of the night was my partner's Creole Seabass. The texture was very soft, and this item actually had flavor. We shared the Apple Crumble for dessert, and even this felt like something was missing. Service was friendly and quick. Nothing was necessarily bad, but considering the price point, I would choose a different spot next time.

We loved this spot. Found it while searching for dinner spots and it's just off a side street from main st. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located next to this brick bar building, it looks empty when you drive by, but once you enter the restaurant, the patio is full of life.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were stunned by the incredibly tall lemon trees that have been there for over 35 years.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had some cocktails to start and then went straight to main courses, the Steak chimichurri plate was so tender and delicious, and the crusted sea bass with the lobster coconut sauce and coconut rice was to die for! We finished with the Coconut bread pudding which came out hot with a coconut syrup to put over. Soooo goood! Highly recommend!

Patio seating and dog-friendly.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A serene sunny lunch on the patio at Rumfish y Vino today[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the tropical vibe![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had the Chef Salad and Fish Tacos made with Mahi-Mahi. Both were delicious! Service was great too. Wish I lived in Ventura so we could visit more often!

A special day deserves a special place and Rumfish was our first thought for Mother's Day. We made a reservation, but they were definitely prepared with a Mother's Day menu and lots of extra seating. Our service staff was great and very attentive to our needs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of delicious food and drinks to choose from while being surrounded by a little part of Ventura on Main Street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came in with an 8:45 reservation for valentine's day. We grabbed a drink at The Livery next door while we waited because we were early and our table at rumfish was also early. The patio was nicely lit and warm despite the cold weather outside was. We had great service from Kelly despite how busy it was. We always get the apricot habanero bacon flatbread and pork belly tacos, they're so so so good I can't recommend them enough. Tangini is also my go to drink but they had some valentine's day specials that were great too. We got dessert for the first time, pot de creme, really yummy! Great place to spend Valentine's day.

Conch Fritters

We came for the happy hour and left happy lol. The pork belly tacos were excellent, the drinks were fresh and refreshing, I will say the conch fritters were just ok but maybe you will like them. We also enjoyed the salad and the coconut bread pudding. Also we received excellent service even with the waitress being very busy she still stayed attentive and checked on us which I really appreciated. There is plenty of seating at this location but most of it is outside. You can come here with friends and family or on a date. Not sure it is child friendly because I didn't see any children there but maybe. Overall this was a great experience and I recommend you give Rumfish y Vino a shot.

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

Had a baby shower scheduled on a Saturday and left completely disappointed. Firstly, we scheduled…read morethis event and paid a deposit well over 6 weeks ago. The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.
