After a recommendation from a friend, the fam and I went to this magical little spot in Ventura. We sat outside in the ferry lit alley. Service was exceptional. The server was sweet, knowledgeable, and she recommended a good wine and food. we had the quinoa salad to start, which was actually so delicious that I want to replicate the recipe if I can. Totally fresh and flavorful and ahem, healthy. We also had the goat cheese flatbread, which was absolutely delicious. For the Main, I personally had the hanger steak, which was fantastic. Great chimichurri and delicious broccolini accompanied it. One of my Rugrats had the burger which he said was the best Wagyu he's ever had. The other one had the cauliflower tacos and she was very satisfied. Hubs had the fish tacos which he devoured so I'm assuming he would give it a thumbs up. I had a nice cocktail to start and a glass of local wine to finish and I was very satisfied overall. I highly recommend coming here for a superb dinner experience.

We stopped in for lunch after our friends recommended we try Rumfish. We were seated on the patio by a very friendly and attentive waiter. He recommended a few drinks and an appetizer to get us started and they were all great! We both had fish tacos, and ceviche, both very fresh, delicious and filling. Our drinks were delicious, and the alcohol in my margarita may have been skipped, but it was still tasty. Parking was easy on the street and the area is full of shops, restaurants and bars. Very fun and safe to walk around. Rumfish was very inviting, not loud and we felt very welcomed when we arrived. We highly recommend a stop here. Cheers!

A serene sunny lunch on the patio at Rumfish y Vino today. Loved the tropical vibe! We had the Chef Salad and Fish Tacos made with Mahi-Mahi. Both were delicious! Service was great too. Wish I lived in Ventura so we could visit more often!

I had a few places in mind, what made me decide to come here was seeing their lunch menu. NGL I remembered the service not being the best but decided go anyway. It hasn't changed. We had to ask to ask several different people for the same thing. We enjoyed our food. The salad was chefs kiss. The outside patio is beautiful.

Found the best two appetizers!! Hanger Steak Garnachas and Conch Chowder. I absolutely loved the Hanger Steak Garnachas, the steak was perfection and combination with the rest of the stuff, especially the avocado and sweet potato was heavily. The Conch Chowder was a solid soup option too! My server Lea gave an outstanding service. Thanks Lea!

Lunch was amazing. Our waiter has absolutely amazing customer service. He seated us under a fan (it was really hot) and he checked the table as we were seated. The table wobbled and he instantly fixed it. The food was bomb, very refreshing and the drinks were strong being from the happy hour menu. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

Somewhat overrated! I'd found Rumfish y Vino on Yelp and made a dinner reservation well in advance. When we arrived, we chose to sit on the heated patio, which had a nice ambiance with trees wrapped in string lights. For drinks, I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which was fine - not as light and crisp as I'd hoped. We started with the Octopus Tostones, Tropical Ceviche (Special), and Smoked Fish Spread. Portion sizes were small, and none of these items really blew me away. The octopus and fish were both fresh with nice texture, but the flavors were just bland. I got the Mussels as my entree, which had a nice garlicky sauce. But the best dish of the night was my partner's Creole Seabass. The texture was very soft, and this item actually had flavor. We shared the Apple Crumble for dessert, and even this felt like something was missing. Service was friendly and quick. Nothing was necessarily bad, but considering the price point, I would choose a different spot next time.

A special day deserves a special place and Rumfish was our first thought for Mother's Day. We made a reservation, but they were definitely prepared with a Mother's Day menu and lots of extra seating. Our service staff was great and very attentive to our needs. Lots of delicious food and drinks to choose from while being surrounded by a little part of Ventura on Main Street.

We came for the happy hour and left happy lol. The pork belly tacos were excellent, the drinks were fresh and refreshing, I will say the conch fritters were just ok but maybe you will like them. We also enjoyed the salad and the coconut bread pudding. Also we received excellent service even with the waitress being very busy she still stayed attentive and checked on us which I really appreciated. There is plenty of seating at this location but most of it is outside. You can come here with friends and family or on a date. Not sure it is child friendly because I didn't see any children there but maybe. Overall this was a great experience and I recommend you give Rumfish y Vino a shot.

Came in with an 8:45 reservation for valentine's day. We grabbed a drink at The Livery next door while we waited because we were early and our table at rumfish was also early. The patio was nicely lit and warm despite the cold weather outside was. We had great service from Kelly despite how busy it was. We always get the apricot habanero bacon flatbread and pork belly tacos, they're so so so good I can't recommend them enough. Tangini is also my go to drink but they had some valentine's day specials that were great too. We got dessert for the first time, pot de creme, really yummy! Great place to spend Valentine's day.

We loved this spot. Found it while searching for dinner spots and it's just off a side street from main st. Located next to this brick bar building, it looks empty when you drive by, but once you enter the restaurant, the patio is full of life. We were stunned by the incredibly tall lemon trees that have been there for over 35 years. We had some cocktails to start and then went straight to main courses, the Steak chimichurri plate was so tender and delicious, and the crusted sea bass with the lobster coconut sauce and coconut rice was to die for! We finished with the Coconut bread pudding which came out hot with a coconut syrup to put over. Soooo goood! Highly recommend!

Unexpectedly really good! Especially loved the conch fritters and cubano. The Carribean fish stew was decent, tasted more like cioppino if anything. Wish the food came out hotter though. Strong drinks. Lovely ambiance, can accomodate larger groups on their outer patio. Definitely coming back here. Service was friendly.

Another great brunch on the patio. Food, drinks, and service were all on point. The wagyu burger and garlic fries were delicious.

On the patio enjoying our evening

    How's the parking?

There is a very large FREE all day parking lot behind the restaurant. You enter from Oak Street. The entrance is on Oak between Main and Poli. There is a stairway down to the restaurant entrance!

How many gluten free (celiac in our group) dinner options do you have?

We have many great options! Just let your server know and they will help guide you to the gluten free options and alert the kitchen.

Do they allow dogs on the patio?

Absolutely, Great place for dogs, we Bring ours.

Is this Belizean cuisine? My parents are both from Belize so I recognize it!! :)

Our original is in Belize. We opened in 2008 there, so our menu is very much inspired by Belize cuisine.

Can we order from the dinner menu during happy hour? And can we order ahead for our reservation?

    Yes we did

How are their gluten free options?

Variety of menu options, particularly fresh seafood, some vegan and veggie dishes, plus tacos with corn tortillas

Is the Happy Hour at the bar only?

    Nope. Anywhere!

Is there any vegetarian options besides the flat bread pizza?

    There are vegetarian options.

    How expensive are they?

It really depends on what you order. They have wonderful flatbreads that are $14.00/ $15.00. The main entree is a bit more $25/$30 but totally worth it. They also have wagyu burgers $17.00. Check out the menu on their web site runfishyvinoventura.com

Saturday we open at 11:30 for Lunch (Brunch is only served Sunday) but yes we take reservations! Let us know what time and how many! You can also use Open Table for reservations!

    Is this restaurant reservations only?

Reservations are recommended, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, but we always accommodate walk ins as best as possible!

Is there any mustard in the conch fritters or the sauce that goes with them? Yes, it's an allergy. I'll have to come in and try them soon!

No mustard no sauce just a squeeze of lemon :)

Do they still have Valet Parking available?

Yes, definitely on the weekend (F-Su). Not sure about the weekdays

    Is the patio dog friendly?

    Yes! We are dog friendly!!!

How do I go about contacting Rumfish about have a large party of 20 people on the outside patio for my wife's birthday party?

Claim Chowder delicious, served with oyster crackers and a thick slice of fresh hot sour dough bread. We all ordered, we all loved it! Calamari a bit of a downer, it was just "ok" little chewy/rubbery. Won't order again. Taco's amazing! 2 huge taco's enough for two people and loaded with everything you want. 2 bucks more for Avacado add on. We ordered 2 plates one blackened snapper (I split with my daughter) and the other grilled snapper tacos for hubby (he loved their non-alcoholic beer too ordered at the bar). All fresh, moist fish, cooked perfectly and tasty. Will order again. The 2 little ones shared a very generous serving of chicken nuggets with fries meal. Really good, so much so, we snitched off their plate. Enough to take home too. All in all a great experience and will be coming back soon for another Happy Hour meal.

If you're for one of the most underrated spots to grab fresh seafood & a stiff cocktail with ocean…read moreviews in Ventura County then look no further than Eric Ericsson's Fish Co. at the Ventura Pier. Open since 1981, this local staple has been around a long time (and in this economy) impressive! I've always walked right past this spot but somehow ended up next door getting tacos or simply walking down the pier for the views, I truly didn't realize how fabulous this lowkey restaurant is. When you walk inside you order at a counter, so it's semi casual in that way but otherwise, everything about this place feels "wow" because your getting 5-star restaurant views of the ocean while paying $$ (reasonable). I picked a cute little short bar style seat which essentially was "premium seating" overlooking the beach and the ocean and honestly, it doesn't get much better than this. The staff from start to finish were super nice and welcoming. They had a solid kitchen team so the food was all made fresh to order but came out quick, making this a solid spot for a quick lunch break. The gentlemen taking my order was friendly and helpful when I had questions and needed recommendations. If you're looking for alcohol, they have a separate counter/bar where you pay & they take your drink order. The bartender there was lovely as well. Nice people, 5/5 service. The food was honestly fantastic and rivals any other seafood spot in the area. I'd also give the food, Portions and presentation a 5/5 as well. Here's what I ordered: Mai Tai - Boozy, fruity, and basically a vacation in a glass. I'd recommend this cocktail if you want something strong but fruity. Popcorn Shrimp - Crispy, flavorful little bites with that southern-style batter that I love. I subbed out the cocktail sauce to pair it with their tartar sauce & that choice was chef's kiss. (Tatar sauce over cocktail all day everyday). Ahi Tuna Taco (staff recommendation) - Light, fresh, and LOADED. Super fresh seared ahi, crunchy veggies, and an addictive wasabi sauce. Oysters - Freshly shucked and you can't leave without ordering a dozen...or two. Their rotation of what type of oysters they have does change regularly I think I read but when I came in the smaller west coast oysters were great. Meals like this remind me why living here feels like paradise. There's a reason these long time local favorites stand the test of time and it's important that we continue to support them so they'll be around for another 40 years! Cheers to Eric Ericssons, definitely a highlight meal for me this year.

That doesn't make sense--if you close at 8, you should still be seating guests before that time, especially when they've been waiting and there's no line. The lack of communication and basic customer service was frustrating and unprofessional. It wasn't about the timing it was about how it was handled.
