I love this restaurant, but they have poor organization from the moment you arrive, 2 waitresses 1 hostess, I love going to this place for its atmosphere and primarily for its view, every time I visit Polson, but today it took me A terrible experience, because I asked for a table on the patio, and they told me that there were none because they were dirty, I understand if the restaurant was full, but I only counted no more than 10 tables occupied, which is three people working, I told them that I had no problem waiting, but with all that they did not want to give me a table outside, they sat me inside the restaurant, when the girl serves me I said again that if there was any possibility of sitting outside that I could wait, the waitress very kindly told me She thought there would be no problem, but she asked the hostess and it was definitely not possible, and she accepted, but it didn't take more than 5 minutes for some clients to arrive and they were seated outside. It seems like very bad attention to me, to be honest. It seemed like discrimination, I am the owner of a restaurant and for me the main thing is my clients, they rule because they are the ones who keep the restaurant going, but here in my opinion they don't care what the client wants, I come on vacation to just enjoy this view, because on several occasions the food is not the best, the drinks are excellent, but the service is terrible in terms of attention, the waitresses are very good, they only limit themselves in many things, and finally the last time I came, 15 days ago I ordered more than $100 worth of takeout and the cold food did not include sauce and dips. With this I continue to accept and give them another chance, since as a visitor what you want is to relax and enjoy the beauty of the landscape, after this what makes me laugh the most is that after I complained about the issue, employees came from where I didn't They had to support and clean the tables but they did nothing to keep the customer happy, they didn't care. so I will not give you more opportunities, take into account the service read more

This place is FANTASTIC! The food was incredible, service was even better, and to top it off they did not pester us to wear a mask, which was such a breath of fresh air. As a doctor/scientist who knows better then to allow stupidity take over my mind, it felt incredible walking into a restaurant that doesn't hassle us to wear masks that do not even protect the community. In fact, it does the complete opposite and houses more pathogens in the mask. Overall, I recommend EVERYONE to try this place. The views give it an even better experience. read more

So my husband and I came in for dinner. This place is beautiful. We where seated right away. Amanda was our waiter and she was AMAZING! The food however was not...I ordered the chicken piccata and my husband ordered the 50-50 burger. His fries were so salty that he couldn't even eat half of them! The chicken piccata smelled like old dishwater and so soggy I couldn't eat it. The drinks were good and the view is outstanding. First thing I noticed was that the outside of the building has a great look, I like the decor and overall there's a good ambiance. Our service was disappointing, the food was incredibly average, and overall I definitely wouldn't return. Our server had no personality and it was like we were wasting his time. I sat there with an empty drink for 15 minutes which is always disappointing. I ordered fish and chips and they didn't serve it with tarter sauce, even though the menu says it is included, it lacked flavor and lots of it was soggy. The place has potential, but right now it's not worth a visit. When a restaurant serves food that is boring and unsatisfying excellent service might still bring me back again. WTF. Beautiful location in no way made up for atrocious service. About four people in the restaurant. Waited so long for service that we finally went up and asked our bartender to get our food. Anthony, our server, didn't know the menu and spent the majority of his time on the phone outside. Staff appears unaware of COVID's existence. The crab cakes and fries were cold. They would have been fine when warm but they sat forever while..... nothing happened. I would only recommend this place when they get new ownership. read more

The views and the restaurant itself were amazing. However, the food for our visit was not as good as the aesthetics of the restaurant. We ordered the bison NY strip which was great however my side of potatoes was cold and it took the waitress a while to check on us. My girlfriend ordered a bison sirloin and was served a beef sirloin and her potatoes were also cold. The restaurant has the potential to be amazing however for us it fell short. read more

Our waitress was new and I'd say she needed more training... so much to complain about here but I'll just say I put that on management, although two or three tables seemed to have complaints and each had a different waitress. Plenty of staff and management running around but not very efficient. The prime rib special was over cooked as well as the burger. Saw the pizza from another table and it didn't look good. Very disappointed! In town visiting came to take some friends out for a special dinner. Shrimp scampi the fettuccine noodles were like mush, sat in the pot way too long no vegetables no garlic bread it was just very basic plate...Way over priced for what it was. My friend had the Caesar salad it came with no dressing,no croutons, no Parmesan cheese and the chicken was a gray color did not appear to be even grilled. My husband steak and garlic mashed potatoes came out and they were cold. Did speak to the manager she wanted to comp us 10% for this meal! Go elsewhere! read more

The food was good, but the service was extreeeemely slow. Only 7 tables and the food took forever to come out! My husband did not order iced tea, but was given and charged for it. He ordered no tomatoes on his sandwich, yet appeared with tomatoes! Nice atmosphere though. We were there shortly after opening and the ladies bathroom trash was overflowing and a stall out of toilet paper. It was obviously not restocked or taken care of after a busy Saturday night. The Shoe can get really busy really fast with the summertime crowd. Went on a Wednesday night and got right in and it was packed. Dinner was good. Went on Sunday for the early dinner 2-6 and was packed. When we left they were telling people that they could be seated, but couldn't order food from the kitchen for a 1/2 hour or more, due to the kitchen being back logged on orders. We did experience a longer wait time for our food on Sunday. Prime rib was offered on the Sunday special dinner menu. Husband and daughter-in-law said it was wonderful. Burgers were over cooked and extremely dry, waitstaff compensated our check. Our appetizers were late, but our waitress brought a kids cheese pizza out before our main meals to make my granddaughter happy, that was a plus. There are staff shortages that make things a bit slower , and also you are on Montana time and they just do things at a slower pace than a regular 20 minute ticket time that most restaurants do. Expect to have a leisurely meal. read more

The waiter's excuse was that the first burger was burned so they redid it.. and waited to serve all burgers.. but the redid burger was also cold. Very disappointing service. Initially, we had to wave down our server for drinks, our friends arrived later and we waited for 20 minutes without sight of our server. I went inside to try to get someone to take a drink order. The server was not knowledgeable about dinner menu items at all. Food was a "C", nothing special. This was my first time to The Shoe and i was looking forward to a good locals restaurant for repeat visits. Disappointing. Also, NO masks worn by any of the wait staff that I could see. Lathered is no place like this in the lake! The view is AMAZING! The food is really good and just a few days after opening, the staff is in top of it! Great service with a smile! Definitely a new fave and we will visit several times this summer while at our Flathead cabin. The fish tacos were stellar - a must try! The coconut shrimp was yummy and my husband enjoyed his shrimp scampi. Margaritas were fresh and enjoyable. Don't miss it! This is the most overstaffed/understaffed restaurant I've ever seen. There were staff members walking around talking but didn't know what to do. There weren't enough menus or kid menus. It took 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table to ask what we wanted to drink. After 20 more minutes we got drinks in duplicate. Pizza was good, but the steak ordered was medium rare, but got well done instead. Watched people consistently walk out both from the entrance and away from their table because they did not get service. We were super disappointed. Very cool atmosphere, just mismanaged. read more

Second visit in a row where food and service was marginal. Wait staff is friendly and hustling but owner needs more staff working. Second time the entire table didn't get their food together. First time,over a month ago , we had a table of four, three people had their food delivered and nearly finished before I pointed out to the waiter a table which had come in long after ours, had received the food I had ordered and was waiting for. Went to breakfast today as a table of three. Two ordered the same plate. Only one order was delivered and she ate nearly all of it before the other two plates arrived. This beautiful newly remodeled restaurant isn't hitting the high mark for me. I've been 3 times. They were not meeting any of the standards for the coronavirus. They would pick up condiments on one table and put them on another without wiping them down. They weren't wearing masks. There was zero social distancing in the place. We had dinner once and lunch twice. Dinner was OK but we all felt overpriced. Lunch was same as anywhere. I'm really hoping they step up on their food. Train the wait staff.
