I'm shocked at the poor reviews and figured I would write one of my own. Clips and targets keep falling down? Quit hitting the target carrier and that doesn't happen. :) Overpriced reloads? Then don't buy them or get a job that pays more than minimum wage. I quite like the price and they are way cheaper than other ranges! 6 people working on a friday? Is it really any of your business? You couldn't buy a gun because of your lack of identification? Why is it such a big deal to not have your current address on your license? The DMV will even mail you one for less than $10. :) They couldn't sight in your firearm? Maybe they don't have the tools and if it's that easy then why don't you do it? Maybe you shouldn't own a firearm if you can't handle it yourself. High prices on firearms? Sure, if you compare them to Buds Guns, but then again everyone is high compared to them. And just to clarify on some misconceptions- Yes, they are selling ammo out the door, they have been for quite some time now! No, they do not require tennis, the "no flip-flop rule" was removed the same time the Cunninghams were. Yes, they have caliber restrictions and do not allow shotguns. I personally appreciate shooting inside an indoor range designed for pistols knowing I'm not stuck next to some jerk with their shotgun splattering my target with their birdshot. And if you have a high caliber rifle, go to Rio Salado. Seriously people, it's a 25yd long indoor range, get a grip. This is a fabulous range with great people behind the counters, they are humble and friendly! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!! read more

So i am formerly of the USCG stationed in San Diego, and was baptised into firearms late in my life at 23. As a former member of the port security force, very frequently the only gun shops/ranges available were either military run, or run by the type of person that makes you feel ignorant for wanting to cut your teeth. However after my enlistment was up, i found myself back here and in the hunt for a facility that could accomodate a person like myself that would like to gain knowledge and experience, wihtout the hassle of being treated like an infant. Ted's was the first place i went, and as far as im concerned will be the last. From day one i was greeted with the kind of respect and reception that anyone could hope for. No question was a dumb one (and believe me i tried), smiles and helpful hands were on deck as needed, and the staff appeared well versed and knowledgable (Thats not how you speel that). If there is any downside i would say that it would be the size of thier inventory. But its not like you can hold a facility accountable for that when they are in the middle of Queen Creek. And above all else, they were honest. From weapon malfunctions to prices, if you ask a question it gets either answered, or you are pointed in the right direction. Worth the drive, and the time. Ted's used to be a pretty cool place to go, some new staff there have changed that in a hurry though. Wanted to try out my new 75 round drum in my SKS today, but I was told by a young Hispanic guy that "We don't allow steel ammo", even though it was clearly aluminum casings and any idiot would've known that. But instead of arguing with him and the other youngsters there and explaining the difference between brass/aluminum and steel, and that I am ex military and was a LE Firearms Instructor, I let them feel like they were in charge, even though I knew that what Ted's really wanted was to keep the brass to reload, plus sell the cheap reloads they have. You can't reload aluminum. So I rented an AR-15 and bought their ammo. This is the 3rd time I have rented a firearm from them, and they are all set up to shoot way low, so you have to buy more of their ammo, because you have to spend some rounds sighting it in being so far off first. Have to use their ammo with a rental you see, so that's a way to up charge too...then my wife hit the cheap target holder that they have so the cheap cross bar needed to be replaced, and they hit us with an $11 "Range Damage Fee". We'll go to Caswell's from now on the green horns here and trying to get the $$$ back you supposedly save for Ladies Day ruined it for us. read more

I read through the reviews and am not surprised by all the 5 stars, what a great range! The staff is so helpful and friendly and the facilities are great. I took a CCW class recently from Michael and the owners of the range conducted the shooting portion of the course, they had us go through some shooting drills that I never would have thought of doing. It was a ton of fun. I highly recommend going here, they're knowledgable, friendly, and professional. They are a bit hard to find at first, but what a gem. They have a guy named Gary there right now with loads of machine guns, he said he's only staying for a couple months but he comes down every year, he's worth spending some time with if you get the chance. By the way, I was standing a few lanes down from the guy using steel ammo during the CCW course, the owner told him they only allow certain calibers in steel like AK47 ammo, but never gave him permission to use steel ammo if it was readily available in brass. I'm glad he's taking his business elsewhere so I don't have to worry about running into him at Ted's. read more

Ted's Shooting Range is uniquely welcoming, and I LOVE them. I even bought one of their shirts. I know that in these difficult times, people are flocking to gun stores. This means, people who were NOT gun enthusiasts have suddenly decided to join the ranks of us, those of us who have been into guns longgggg before COVID-19 was a thing. However, these folks do not understand appropriate firearm etiquette. This means that there are people who come to a gun-store and expect that they will experience the same entitlement of being at any other store. Well, friends, read the sign outside the building --- did you see the words "GUNs" ??? If you come into TED's expecting that you can treat the staff and owners as if they are grocery clerks at Alberton's or Fry's Grocery, or as if you can come in here with your EGO and stand here with the rest of us and say and act like the typical Basic Bro or Basic Karen, then please know you need to check your ego at the door and show some respect . Heard of Ted's from a friend so I decided to check it out (tired of the employees & hassel at Caswell's & SGC). The staff was extremely friendly, helpful & courteous. I witnessed one of their staff John go out of his way to help a woman & her son get setup for their first time shooting, he then let them shoot his personal AR15 with a silencer just too up their experience (something you would never see at Caswell's or SGC). I was also excited to hear (by John) that they will be stocking more AR parts, lower receivers, uppers, etc. John & the staff sold me on where I will be doing all of my shooting and where I will be making my future purchases. It's great to see employees take pride in where they work. Keep up the good work guys (& gals). Shout out to Justin M. how about makng a 2 minute phone call before you pack up the car? To be honest, it has been many a moons since Daddy and I shot guns. I recently decided it might be a hobby I would like to understand more and check my interest levels. Ted's made this experience for me. The staff have very helpful pointers and an incredible amount of information. I was able to take those suggestions to the range and helped my aim. Later when I was ready and able to buy a gun that would work for me, they provided information that I could research myself and offered to have me call them or stop back by for more suggestions. I could not have felt more confident and safe. Staff would observe shooters on the range carefully. I have now been a few times but will continue to return week after week. I love the fact that Ted's has ladies "days" Mondays and Wednesdays. I would like to thank Lauren and Tricia for all the assistance and support. See ya next week! read more

Worst experiance I have ever had at any retail establishment. I have shot there since they opened years ago. When I reached the door they had a sign that stated you were not allowed to ware a mask unless it was a clear face shield. I went to the counter to get more information and the clerk stated guns and masks don't mix. It had nothing to do with safety and Identification (they have the DL of everyone that shoots) it was to make a political statement. I asked for a manager. I asked if they are really going to not allow their customers to protect themselves with a mask and he stated that I have 5 minutes to leave the premises. Then I was verbally attacked by other customers with one threatening violence with nothing being done to stop it by the manager. This in a setting where everybody is armed. This place needs to be shut down. read more

Had a friend visiting from Michigan so we took 6 of my guns and went to Ted's for the first time and blew through 550 rounds. Great facility and friendly knowledgable staff. I was really surprised that they had a new Taurus Judge revolver in their rental selection that shoots both 45 ca or .410 shotgun shells. And what a surprise, they let you shoot the .410 in their range. Now that's cool ! Definitely coming back next week to put another dent in my stash of ammunition so it doesn't get too old. LOL. Bass Pro has lost all my business as you now have to purchase ammo from them exclusively at the same time you're using their range, in addition, no 22 calibers are allowed on any of their ranges. Their mangement has their heads up you know where making all these assinine decisions. read more

This is the worst run shooting range I have ever shot on! the owner was only interested in making money and hired incompetent youngsters with no experience! It was dangerous as most of the shooters were new and had no idea of what safety was! They were in the firing area to sweep up the spent brass as fast as possible to make more money for the owner! She also was charging shooters for misplaced shots that damaged her range; this is part of running a shooting range! I was one of the first members of the range until it was sold to the present owner! I tried to explain to her the meaning of a shooting range; but she was only interested in profit! Fantastic range with helpful staff and friendly customers. Not only is this the best range I've been to in Queen Creek but probably the best range in The greater Phoenix area. Fair range prices on and I often find great prices on new and used guns that i've bought. I just got a Sig p365 XL for a better price then most online retailers and i'm in love with it. The owner Liz is amazing and their entire team is super knowledgeable and give great advice about purchasing. The last thing I have to say is that the classes are not only affordable but insanely useful! I've learned more about shooting and gun safety in the bast few months than I have in years of shooting. 10/10 would recommend you make this your go to shop/range read more

Unbelievable experience today for my kids. Do NOT go here if you're trying to teach your children gun safety and shooting. Not sure if my husband was targeted because he's covered in tattoos or because of the race of our kids with him but the manager there has lost customers for life! The absolute disrespectful and disgusting behavior from the manager will keep us and MANY of our friends, who are regular customers from EVER stepping foot in there again. The out right lies and belligerent treatment us just astounding to me. I'm struggling to adequately express the horror of this situation. John, you are a piece of garbage manager! This place is absolutely amazing. I actually give them a 10 star rating. They have been so very helpful with information and answering any questions. They have never made me feel any pressure while asking any questions and have given me an honest opinion about the firearms that I have been looking at and asking questions about. Out on the shooting range, the experience gets even better. I personally watched the staff come in and ensure that all the shooters were being safe, and offering assistance and help and tips to all. I completed their Advanced Concealed Carry class and was very impressed with the caliber and professionalism of the instructor. I have attended CC classes in three other states and this was by far the most thorough and comprehensive. My instructor, Ryan Bottachiari, was very professional and knowledgeable. Everything about this facility speaks professionalism. I would highly recommend that you visit Ted's Shooting Range and see for yourself what they have to offer whether you're a seasoned shooter or new to shooting or just want to know more about the sport or guns in general. Been going for couples years, I travel a lot so at a variety of gun ranges. They put an ICE badge next to the badge of the Chandler police department as their decoration, which I found highly disrespectful. With having close members to me being apart of the Chandler police department, I've talk to the chief personally and know he does now want anything to do this that organization. Yet they decorate the badge next to Chandlers as if ICE was a department serving the community of Arizona. Super disrespectful I've brought plenty of my friends every time but now we will be looking for a different or outdoor range. read more

This place sucks so bad $15 for an hour really????!!!! And they have this thing about ammo they are afraid you are going to shoot tracers why would I want to shoot tracers at a paper target in an indoor range this place sucks go anywhere else you can just don't go here...... Go to the out door range $7 ALL DAY and aslong as you know what you are doing nobody says a word to you they just let you shoot. This place is the epitome of stupidity. They don't allow people wearing medical masks! There is actually a sign at the door and not one person was wearing any protective covering inside. It's absurd! Anyone with half a brain wears a mask and it's not a leap to assume, the establishment is run by trump supporting racist pricks. I've been to other shooting ranges and stores and they require masks. I've been going to the shooting range in Queen Creek since it opened. There have been so many great changes since the new management took over a few years ago. The employees and owners have always been super helpful and friendly. I'm surprised there are some poor reviews, my experience has been nothing but good and I highly recommend going in and checking the place out for yourself.
