Super cute little spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Vegan, vegetarian, and allergy friendly. Everything is labeled and anything that can be made vegan/vegetarian/or gluten free is also, labeled. It was nice takes a lot of the guess work out of the menu. They have a lot of menu items with mushrooms, which it was great to see!

I had a great experience here awhile back (I may have forgotten to post this review in a timely fashion) :). I sat at the adorable bar and the bar tender struck up a pleasant conversation and was very attentive. The food was very good and the ingredients were fresh! I also enjoyed my wine a good bit! This place is definitely worth visiting!

First off, downtown Tarrytown is really nice - it's like a combination of Europe and Hoboken and would really like to return. We came to Sweet Grass Grill for brunch, and the vibe and decor was pretty nice. The food was fine - albeit super greasy (egg sandwich, fries etc), but overall it was pretty good. The service was spotty and the bathroom was kinda gross - which is always a red flag for me. I'd probably return but would rather try a different spot in Tarrytown next time.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. We had a reservation, but had about a 10 minute wait for our table. The restaurant is small and cozy, with low lighting and subtle decor. They have a fantastic selection of vegan and vegetarian options. We started the meal with complimentary gluten free bread and a white bean spread. The bread was soft, with a thick, crusty edge. The white bean dip was tasty. Would've loved if the bread was warm. The vegan cauliflower wings were the star of the meal. They actually looked like chicken wings. The dough had a crispy top layer, with tender cauliflower underneath. The sauce was tangy and succulent. We also had the burrata and squash salad. The pomegranate seeds offered a fresh burst of flavor. The burrata was soft, but not as creamy as other preparations. The salad was a good portion size, large enough for our group of four to share. For my main, I was adventurous and tried the vegan salmon. This is made by the Oshi brand, with the website prominently called out on the menu. The salmon texture was remarkably close to the real thing. It was moist and flaky, maybe just a bit denser than real fish. It had a crunchy top layer, which added nice texture, but I would've loved if it had a bit more citrus or spicy flavor. The parsnip puree was tasty, but the beets were fairly bland and overwhelmed the dish. Still, I was impressed overall. For dessert, we tried the basque cheesecake, which was dense, slightly squishy, and perfectly sweet. We also enjoyed the squash mousse. This was light and creamy, with unexpected spiced walnuts. Definitely worth a visit if in the area!

It's been a while since I've been to Sweet Grass Grill - actually it's been 10 years as that's the date of my last Yelp review from here and I know I hadn't been back since. Anyway, some of my college friends were visiting from Albany and since they used to live in Tarrytown they wanted to meet there for breakfast. Sweet Grass was one of their favorite spots, so they asked if we could go there - that being said, off we went. SGG is located on Main Street, right in the heart of the commercial hub of Tarrytown. The restaurant is pretty spacious - the interior has high ceilings with a good amount of space and large windows to let natural light in. The color scheme is light Earth tones and medium woods which add to the freshness of the space - they also have a small number of outdoor tables. The menu has a large selection of vegetarian options, though they do feature meat options too. We were technically there for brunch, so they offered a combination of breakfast and lunch dishes. They started us with some gluten free mini coconut muffins; these were pretty good but I'm not big on gluten free carbs (it's a texture thing). For my main I was feeling pancakes, but also wanted some protein to supplement and the Lumberjack Pancake seemed to fit the bill. This was a single buckwheat pancake paired with breakfast meat (I chose bacon), hash browns, and eggs (I chose sunny side up). The pancake was fine, it might have been the buckwheat but I prefer something fluffier; bacon, potato, and eggs were all good but nothing outstanding. Service was fine, albeit a little slow - everyone was friendly though which made the overall experience pleasant. While I enjoyed revisiting Sweet Grass Grill, I wouldn't call it my favorite spot in Tarrytown. It does, however, fill a popular niche and wouldn't be against returning - I'm just not running back.

We had lunch here recently and sat outside. It took a while for the server to come over initially, and then our food took a long time to come out as well, even though they were not busy. We had thought they forgotten about us. When our food did arrive, the server later said that the kitchen had made a mistake with our order and had to remake it. While the server gets points for noticing that to correct it, it would have been nice if they told us as it was happening rather than afterward to explain the long wait. Also, some of our food got cold while waiting for the rest to be remade. They have a variety of options for vegetarians, vegans, and those without dietary restrictions. Several healthier choices as well. Despite some of the food not being as warm as it should be, otherwise everything tasted pretty good. The sweet potato fries in particular seemed homemade and were tasty.

Very cute brunch spot in downtown Tarrytown with a menu for both vegan and non-vegan tastes. We came during weekend brunch and I have to say, I usually give places a pass for the quality of brunch - you have to get out a crush of orders and the dishes aren't the most inspired but tricky to time right (hello, eggs Benedict). The food we ordered wasn't the most consistent in terms of how we ordered it (for instance, both my mom and husband ordered eggs over easy and only the latter's was truly runny) nor were the portions super big but overall delicious and fresh. I liked the summer beefsteak tomato salad, the tomatoes full of flavor, and the chicken I added to the side was, while a bit dry, nicely seasoned and grilled. Everyone else joined the clean plate club. The service was very friendly, even with an enormous Chinese tour group that muscled in and laid claim to a table before it was ready. The manager came by to ask how everything was, which I appreciate for brunch. Public parking lot right next door.

I came here for dinner with some friends and we were sat promptly without needing a reservation! The waitress and waiters were super attentive and there was bread and a really nice bean spread to start! The food was delicious! I absolutely loved the grilled chicken sandwich and it was so tender and warm and the side salad was also so good!! My friends also got their burger and pan fried salmon which looked amazing as well! The drinks were also delicious and there were really unique cocktails. I definitely recommend coming here for dinner, it's a great spot with friends and the whole place is so welcoming.

Walked in at 5pm on a Friday without reservations. The restaurant was nearly empty, but every table filled by 6pm, so make reservations for popular, peak meal times. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Cozy, rustic vibe. Dimmed lighting, relaxing background music, simple wooden furniture & decor. Great spot for an intimate family/friend/romantic gathering. You will be able to enjoy conversation with your table companions even through slightly elevated noise levels. Our waiter deserves praise. He was patient while I took my time deciding between multiple options [everything sounded great--choosing was truly challenging], explaining different dishes, and answering my myriad questions. We were not rushed to vacate the premises even after finishing our meal, on a busy Friday night, as every table filled up and customers kept arriving. Enjoyed everything we tried. There is a lot to be said about doing justice to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. $22 salmon fillet sandwich was an unexpected delight: highly recommend. Salmon fillet was a filling, generous portion--wish every salmon sandwich [or even fillet] was so amply cut and prepared. Juicy and well-seasoned. Not dried-up, like too many salmon fillets. Sweet potato fries were some of the tastiest I've ever had--and as a sweet potato fan, I've tried a loooooot! Perfectly seasoned and cooked [crunchy yet delicate]. The taste of locally sourced sweet potato was so pronounced--nothing like the bland root you get from your supermarket. Beet ketchup was a great condiment to juxtapose sweetness with umami, saltiness, and some sourness. $26 hen of the woods with purple yam puree was on the smaller side, but was filling thanks to the wintry, hearty ingredients. Original flavor profile. $9 Chocolate chia pudding was filling, yet light. Barely sweet, which is great for anyone watching their sugar intake, yet craving a sweet ending to their meal. Great portion for sharing. You won't feel guilty [or bloated] after such dessert--the healthiest option you can envision. Would return to try other items on the seasonally changing, locally sourced menu!

Amazing menu of vegan and gluten free options. All the food was prepared thoughtfully and I really appreciate the kale salad was pre massaged and tossed so it's a lot easier to digest. I also appreciated the slight slice and crunch of the toppings in the butternut squash soup. That definitely added a layer to this hearty warm meal. The beets were also very tasty and I loved the sauce. I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their vegan options!

My husband went with the à la carte French toast accompanied with a fresh berry compote and homemade whip cream. The bread was a house-made challah bread . He said it was the best he's French toast he's ever had. Served with real maple syrup, which made it even better. The Bloody Marys were fantastic--perfectly spicy, with a noticeable kick of horseradish. The Bellini was just as delicious, and the coffee was served hot and full of flavor. I opted for the prix fixe menu . It was difficult to choose as there were many options to choose from. I decided on the mushroom risotto as a first course which was outstanding--perfectly creamy risotto topped either mushrooms and a delicate touch of annato oil that brought everything together beautifully. For my main course again, many options that I could've went with, but decided on the eggs Benedict with pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful. The country, potatoes, sautéed with onions and red peppers, were so tasty, and the side salad with dressing was light and refreshing. I also loved that there were several protein options you could've chose from to go on top of the English muffin beneath the poached eggs. We were too full to enjoy dessert there, but we took it home--an apple cheesecake dress with caramel sauce, and that same homemade whipped cream . Since we were taking it home, we forgo'd the vanilla ice cream which also came with this dessert . The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive--water glasses were refilled without asking, and plates were cleared promptly. The space also features a beautiful large bar and an outdoor patio, which I can't wait to come back and enjoy. Lots of parking in the surrounding and immediate areas and free on Sundays.

I ordered the soup and sandwich off the lunch menu - truffle grilled cheese, how could you wrong? What I expected - a decadent, buttery, melty sandwich. What I got- two heels of bread dry as a desert with a thick hunk of cheese that was not even fully melted throughout. The soup was not terrible in comparison but needed salt. Holiday lunches have dragged on and on with slow service. I would never go spend my own money here.

We loved the farm tour that started our evening (eating a stalk of the best asparagus I've ever had plucked straight from the ground was a definite highlight) and getting to learn more about Blue Hill's philosophy of farm to table cooking and using as many parts of each animal as possible. Service was attentive but not stuffy, and everyone we interacted with that night was personable and enthusiastic about their work. For dinner service we sat in a corner booth and listened to the soothing sounds of bird calls interspersed throughout the evening. We began a litany of courses that consisted of the farm's freshest produce of the season, which was delightfully hands-on. Some of our favorites of the evening came later, in the buckwheat 4 ways course and the two types of asparagus, as well as the best celttuce preparation I've had. The field trip to the kitchen was fun and we got some delicious buckwheat chips and cow bone rind brie. Even though we didn't love the toughness of the dairy cow that was served in one of our later plates, I appreciated the thought that went into the conception of the course, and there were more than enough wow/extremely delicious other components & courses to balance that out entirely. As a ceramics enthusiast, a lot of the plateware was also very beautiful, especially the pieces that were sourced from dairy cow bones. What a lovely way to honor all parts of the animal! A tip to try the non-alcoholic beverages/mocktails if you're not otherwise doing a pairing. We had some excellent drinks throughout the night at a very reasonable price point for a restaurant of this caliber and I was thoroughly impressed by the thought and care put into every component of the menu. The beverage menu itself was printed on a lovely map of the grounds and I was able to take one home along with a polaroid of us in the kitchen and a small loaf of whole-wheat bread that I ate with butter in the following week. Just a delightful experience all around and I'll be thinking about it fondly for many years to come!

I got there and waited while the staff and a customer were socializing and ignoring me. The standard 'we don't care and we want you to know it.' There is food that is prepackaged from other companies. I did not really look at it since I am here for the 2 Michelin star in house cooked food not something that can be purchased in a lot of places. I chose to get a golden raisin muffin because the scone had nuts in it. The muffin is $6.50 which is what you expect from fancy places. It tasted really delicious and much better than supermarket and bakery muffins. This was a nice once in a lifetime stop, but it is not somewhere to return. I understand it is a farm and has to be further removed from society, but the time constraints are too much. Also, there is no guarantee what will be served, and you need to be able and willing to eat anything.
