I've never noticed this bakery until I saw a sign for boba. Yesterday was the first time trying some of the pastries. They have a nice selection of a lot of pastries like pastel de nata, donuts, macarons, cookies, etc. This time I only tried the pastel de nata and boba. The two flavors I got one were original and nutella. The nutella tasted more citrussy that I thought maybe I didn't get the right one but the original one was good, despite being a little pricey. As for the boba, I'm definitely continue going elsewhere. I like to control the sugar percentage and it wasn't really possible here. I'd like to come here again to try more baked goods. read more

I'm always down to try out a new Bakery so I was excited when I saw this one had finally opened! Thankfully they also offer an interesting mix of items that will be worth coming back to try at some point. First off is your normal fare, croissants, big chewy cookies and macarons and donuts. I got a pink sprinkle donut myself and while I gotta side-eye the price of like $3.50 a donut but this is Park Slope so it's not exactly unheard of. It was a GOOD donut at least, and I'm happy I ate it. Then they got the more interesting stuff like their choco kiss -- a chocolate-coated marshmallow-like meringue over wafer confection that comes in various flavors and chocolates. I got the strawberry one which was light and fluffy and lovely. They also offer Pastel de nata which is exciting to hear but alas was not in stock when I visited. The donuts here are so light & airy. They aren't too sweet & 1 is the perfect portion. I stopped by here around 6pm on a Thursday and it was empty with a small selection left for the day. The pastries and donuts are all buy 1, get 1 free after 5pm so it's a great opportunity to try something new. I got the glaze donut which was perfectly made & delicious and I look forward to having my almond croissant tomorrow AM. Definitely stop by if you're looking for a yummy baked good. The Showroom Bakeroom definitely makes use of its name. It's one of the first places you run into when you enter the Dekalb Food Market and it immediately catches your eye with the bright and colorful presentation. The service here was beyond enjoyable. I wish I had asked for the employee's name because I felt so fulfilled after purchasing my cookies, not only because I was excited to eat them but because it seemed like they were excited to serve me. Very polite and bubbly with the largest smile on their face. It made me feel like I had just seen a friend I haven't seen in years on the street. The experience of eating each cookie was just as sweet, literally and figuratively. I ordered the birthday cake cookie and the macadamia nut white chocolate cookie. The birthday cake cookie was definitely on the sweeter side, but not so much to where it would offend an eater that doesn't necessarily have a sweet tooth. The various assorted sweets inside of the cookie made for a unique taste and it actually did resemble a birthday cake, but without the spongy inside or the stale frosting. The macadamia nut white chocolate cookie was stronger in its nutty flavor, but the white chocolate definitely came in with some sweetness and provided a smooth texture to the cookie as well. Each cookie had a firm but easy exterior and a soft and chewy exterior. Each bite is enjoyable and there's enough flavors here to satisfy almost everyone. I definitely go at least once a week because I absolutely love their cookies. I came in to get a latte and when I asked the man working there if they had any special flavors, I was given a nasty attitude. He impatiently said, "What does that mean?" He acted as if I was bothering him even though I was literally the only customer there. He rushed to make the latte as if he could not wait to get back to whatever he was doing when I came in. Highly recommend trying the original flavor. It's sweet but not too sweet and the perfect size for a midday treat. I brought mine home and heated in the toaster oven for full yum factor. I also got a croissant, and while I'm still typically disappointed with American croissants this one was better than most. Slightly crispy, perfectly browned with soft buttery inside. Stopped by today after walking past every morning and thinking "I need to try this place!" The two men working were SO kind and welcoming. They greeted someone by name and asked a question, so they clearly know their regulars. A great neighborhood vibe. We got a Pasteis de nata (original), chocolate croissant, and doughnut. The pasteis de nata was amazing. I had been dreaming of them since my last trip to Portugal several years ago. They were either bigger than the ones I had before, or bigger than I remember. They had a lot of filling as a result of that. The flavor was amazing, smooth texture inside, flaky crust. I got the original flavor but there were also fun other ones like Nutella. They were pricey at $4 each, but the owner (I think) said they bring them from Portugal to be authentic.. that, plus being in NYC, a higher price is to be expected. The chocolate croissant was tasty! The pastry was flaky and there was enough chocolate (sometimes they can have too little!). It was slightly overdone but it didn't take away from the flavor at all. Most of the others in the display looked perfect. We haven't tried the doughnut yet but looking forward to it! We'll be back soon for more pasteis de nata flavors. read more

Got a sweet tooth? This is the place for you! I had a craving for an apple or cinnamon danish and stumbled upon this place as I wandered down 7th Ave in Park Slope. The owner is so nice!! He gave me a full tour of all the sweets, highlighting every single item available so I'd have all the information I needed before making my selections. I got more than an apple danish!!! I also ordered what looked like a sugar donut but had this delicious filling (he did tell me what it was filled with. I don't remember now but it's yummy), a black currant macaron, an oatmeal raisin cookie that's like a mini cake, and a tomato/mozzarella croissant, and a fruit egg tart for under $25.
