They are stealing money from their employees. They have a sign on the wall that says that all the tips go to the employer and not the employee. Yhey are paying the employees a little bit higher wage, but nowhere near the amount of money the employee would be making if they got to keep their own tips. They found a loophole in the system in order to be able to do this by putting a sign up in a spot on the window. This company is absolute trash. Who does that. read more

came here a few days ago and was fairly disappointed. we sat down and the waiter 1.) was never nearby to ask how food was or so we could find him and 2.) did not write down our order and claimed he would remember it. our food was messed up and just not good! i'm sorry i loved the interior and the vibe but the fact that we waited a while for the food and that more than half of our food was messed up and we had to wait longer to be fixed was just not fun. i've worked in food service for five years and if you're not confident enough to remember orders, then don't do it and if you can do it and it works out, awesome but better to be safe than sorry. read more

Their grass-fed burger was so good! I ate the entire thing and added goat cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula to it! It came with crinkle cut sweet potato fries paired with a garlic aioli on the side and they were so good! Would've liked them to be a little more hot but still good. The food cane out fairly quick too. Ohhh and I can't forget their beet hummus we got as a starter..so unexpected at a place like this but man it was stellar! Definitely recommend! I got a Bourbon Jalapeño Burger with fries, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat itself tasted great and the fixins on the burger were an excellent combination. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned. I also got a side of ranch for dipping, and let me tell you--if you are a fan of restaurant ranch for dipping, GET THIS ONE. It was the best side ranch I've ever had. Absolutely worth the up-charge. Hostess was kind and I was seated much quicker than expected. Our server was efficient and kept chit chat to minimum which I appreciate. He got us our food and was timely. I will say though, upon being taken to our table, the hostess informed us we could only have it for an hour. It didn't sway my judgement or anything, but I was surprised to experience this at a sit-down restaurant that isn't all-you-can-eat. What keeps me from going to five stars was the overall ambience. While the art is iconic and entertaining, the place is fairly cramped. I went on a Sunday at about 1:30pm, so it was understandably very busy. The restaurant was overwhelmingly loud to the point where my friend and I couldn't talk to each other without having to shout. The low ceilings within the restaurant likely contributed to this. Campus visit to CU for our high school senior and students recommended The Sink for lunch. Perfect call--lived up to the high expectations! The atmosphere is very funky--wild art and graffiti motive and if you're over 6'2 you'll have to duck to get around. Definitely get either the burgers or pizza. We had the DDD onion straw burger--made from super local beef and it was perfect. Also had the DDD basil pizza--some of the best crust ever. Server Jordan made the whole experience fun and took care of us attentively, complete with Sharpie to sign the ceiling. Remember that the superstitious say that only graduates should sign...but if you're only a little stitious, go ahead. read more

As a visitor, we enjoyed our experience at The Sink. We ordered a small pizza and sliders. Everything was good - but know - the pizza crust is unique. The crust is thick and tastes more like a bread than a pizza crust. (If that makes any sense??) It was not toasted, browned or crisp on the bottom. I don't mind trying new foods but my 17 year old was not at all happy with the pizza. There are lots of other things on the menu so don't eliminate The Sink if you are a thin crust kind-of-person. Maybe you can ask for a crispy crust? I still think it's a super fun place and I would totally go back. If you eat outside, walk through the building to check out the decor inside. read more

An A-list movie star once worked there, a sitting president once dined there, and The Sink has been featured on several food network program....Joey was our waiter and he took great care of us! I would describe the cuisine as foodie pub fare. Greek salad was fantastic. The Caesar salad had large shavings of Parmesan, and was top-notch. We ordered "The Goat" pizza which was topped with arugula. It veered a little sweet for my taste, but I added a generous sprinkle of crushed red pepper, which fixed that. I've been meaning to go here for over a year. The outdoor area is a nice place to chill. You can go to the bookstore or get local periodicals across the street. The Cherry Lime Ricky was better than a Shirley Temple for non-alcoholic choices. I got roasted beets because someone td me they're better than pickled beets, and they didn't disappoint. I forst wanted to get Blanca, to honor S7 of OITNB, but I opted for the Buddha Basil because it was the only vegetarian pizza on the Happy Hour list, and I thought Buddhism was what America needed at this time. This was the first place my family and I stopped at upon arriving to Colorado from Florida. We were told that this was the spot that president Obama took his family when he came to visit the area! Having heard about The Sink for about seven years I finally walked in. It is a bit of a novelty business but it does the "well established dive" stuff well. The menu is diverse given its tavern quality, the servers are busy and talented, the food is well prepared and the atmosphere is (to repeat) well established dive. I ordered the Cowboy Reuben which is brisket beef with a spicy BBQ sauce, cheese and cole slaw on marble rye. I was somewhat skeptical and thought the novelty creation may not hold up. It did. In fact, it really did. Eaten along with a side of the house slaw is the way to enjoy this sandwich. Mrs G had been here before and avoided the heavy stuff by ordering pear salad. Being an excellent salad maker, when she gives compliments to an original menu creation like this, trust her salad cred. The bar is full and has a solid range of drafts. Left Hand Nitro Stout doesn't come in second to many drafts in my book so, I had one with my belly buster Cowboy Reuben. The décor is wall art and ceiling graffiti with a dash of bumper sticker and string lights. The sound is loud with a solid string playlist that someone created from the 80s - Depeche Mode, Billy Idol and The Cure. Delicious food and great atmosphere. The art work covering the walls was so cool. My only complaint was our waiter. He was very short with us and didn't seem to care about anything. The pizza we had was amazing! Something like I've never had! The pesto and tomato sauce mixed together was genius. I asked for no whole tomatoes on mine and of course it came with them. Looking back on my experience at The Sink, I am proposing that The Sink is haunted. Simple as that. I didn't see a ghost, no ghost tried to feel me up and my food was not smeared all over my face, The Sink just oozes drugs sex, and Children Under the Stairs. Found this gem on a rainy day in Boulder. Looked like it was closed from the outside! But once inside, the dining room is way back, with all the walls painted graffiti style. Service was great, burger was out of this world. You can upgrade to grass fed beef for a couple bucks. Lots of famous people have eaten there and they have the signatures on the wall by the front door (Obama, Guy Fieri, Chuck Norris, Bill Walton). I had a burger and sweet potato fries, both great. Mac and cheese, salads, sandwiches and a few other items round it out. I went with a Spicy Bacon Bleu Burger and fries. My girlfriend went with some pizza, and we split a mac and cheese side. Food came out fairly quickly, especially with the large crowd. We were there on a Sunday night, right after a Broncos game. The food was good. Not amazing or life changing, but good. The patty on the burger was better than most, and the toppings tasted fresh as well. The sauces they have were also pretty good. My girlfriend liked her pizza as well. The mac and cheese was a weak point, and some of the fries were a little cold, but overall it was a solid meal. I'm not sure when the next time will be that were back in Boulder, but I will likely stop by here again. read more
