This year we decided to get into skiing, and what a wonderful experience it's been…read more It started with a visit to Ski Haus on November 1st. The staff there was extremely courteous, and made my 6 year old daughter feel at home. They were so nice to here, and Oliver the dog is so sweet. They set my daughter up with a great package that's cute and cost effective. I came in a day later and love my set up. They also saved me from buying an overpriced set of goggles that fogs up! What really sticks out though, is when I came in to get my ski-boots refitted. I'm new to this all, but they took great care of me and now my boots fit like a comfortable glove. Ski Haus is awesome. Make an appointment and start an awesome adventure.

Sooo it begs the question of why he would feel the need to lie to such a degree and call me a fake account... lol.. sure buddy.. embarrass yourself and your shitty business. if i could rate below a 0 i would. i am appalled that a business runs this way... not only are the products outrageously priced, the selection is not up to par.. they used to have a public restroom and then suddenly they introduced two store mutts that do not respond to commands, nearly nipped me for asking for the bathroom, and then proceeded to follow me growling at me while i made my way to the restroom. the owners have since introduced a "no public restroom" sign with no regard for customers as dogs still act like they've never seen another human. absolutely awful and shameful as a business. also the owner has responded to my review before and lied about the dogs being "service dogs" yet i never met a service dog that actively disengages from commands from their owner, or a service dog that actively goes to nip at and growl at a potential customer. SHAME ON YOU. "steve p" loves to reply and make up some narrative to dispel this but i've stepped foot in the building every single wednesday for the past 6 months. check the cameras steve p... ive been there and your mutts have been aggressive more than once.

Earlier this year, my husband and I found ourselves in the market for cross country skis. A little…read morelate to the game for the season (and perhaps the year with recent shipping delays) the employees at The Ski House were incredibly helpful in our search for gear in time for a February trip to Lake Placid, NY. After striking out at stores throughout Rhode Island, we found ourselves extending our search to Massachusetts and Connecticut. Most stores simply laughed when we mentioned we were looking for two full packages of boots, skis, and poles. The Ski House not only took our inquiry seriously but worked out a viable solution and game plan to help us find everything we were looking for. We worked most of our purchase out over the telephone, saving us precious time, gas, and mileage during our search. The Ski House gathered all of our ski equipment (minus the boots) based on height and weight and held it for us with a small deposit until we could get to the store for pickup. They talked us through the requirements we'd need in a boot and offered several suggestions on where we might be able to locate a couple pairs. With their guidance in mind, we found boots online same day that were compatible with the Alpina skis coming our way. Our excellent experience extended through to purchase. Everyone we encountered in-store was pleasant and knowledgeable. Our skis and bindings were set up in no time, poles measured and tested based on our height, and final purchase handled quickly and efficiently. Thanks to The Ski House, we were able to cruise the trails on our vacation in our new gear not long after!!

Turns out, they were cutting off my circulation after two runs. Three other shops confirmed they screwed up. Wasted $100++ trying to fix their mistake. Went back, and they ADMITTED they sold me the wrong size--then refused to do anything about it. No refund, no exchange, just pathetic and was told" buy new ones." Now I'm out hundreds of dollars with boots I can't wear. Incompetent, dishonest, and a complete waste of time. Avoid this place at all costs.

Unsafe Bindings + Poor Customer Service…read more.. Key Points -Bindings are key to safe skiing, and they made three separate mistakes on the ski/binding combo I purchased from them. -They did not provide an adequate solution to the mistakes or stand by the product they sell, leaving me with a setup I can't trust. My experience at Summit has me concerned about the safety of the work they perform. Considering the danger this can put others in, coupled with the lack of responsiveness by the store, I felt this review was important for others to read. I expect that they might respond to this review, so I've tried to be as objective as possible...please consider my entire experience in forming your own judgment about their business. Mistake 1 - Incorrect mounting position - I bought a pair of skis, bindings, and boots from them less than a year ago. They incorrectly mounted the bindings more than 3cm ahead of the factory indicators (see photo) and let me take them home, where I identified the issue on my own. The store admitted the mistake, which required a remount before I even got them on the slopes. While they gave me a $50 credit, it took up a lot of my time, reduces the longevity of the ski (typically only 3 mounts per ski), and, most importantly, highlights the low attention to detail. Mistake 2 - Binding ripped out - After less than a year from the second mount, two screws came out of a toe piece while I was using them, with the remaining two almost ready to pop...a potentially dangerous scenario (see photo). I brought them to another shop, where they initially gasped in shame thinking they had done the mount, highlighting that 1.) this should not happen, 2.) it was unlikely they were installed properly, and 3.) the other toe piece was just a matter of time before falling off too. I brought the skis back to Summit to have them look at it. In my quest for objectivity, I must note that I can't be 100% sure this wasn't a fluke incident, but my 30 years of skiing experience, Summit's initial mistake, and the other shop's opinion are enough to warrant concern about the install quality. Mistake 3 - Insufficient repair - I called the next day, and without them communicating to me first, they claimed to fix the problem by doing what is called a helicoil on two screws. When I pointed out that there were at least 6 other screws I (and the other shop) didn't trust, I was told that helicoils for all screws would be the way to have full confidence. When they called the owner to see if the store could cover this relatively modest cost (less than $100), I was declined, thereby implying that they do not back their product with full confidence, leaving me with tarnished skis that I frankly can't trust. They did make a defense that both the skis and bindings I purchased from them are known for ripping out, but my research couldn't confirm this as a widespread issue, on top of which it would imply that they sold me junk equipment and won't stand by it. So, mistake 3 was an insufficient fix and unwillingness to do the fix they said would give me full confidence. While I'm just one review (although 3 separate issues), I hope this proves helpful to others considering business with Summit. At the end of the day, they seem willing to let me leave the shop with skis that aren't done right time and time again, which is why I would encourage others to take their business elsewhere. P.S. I do believe I remained calm, respectful, and rational when dealing with them as we explored the options. For example, they came up with the idea of the complete helicoil, which I was willing to compromise on before the owner declined covering the cost.

I wanted one that had certain features included, and the model ordered didn't have any of them. When I called for assistance, I was told all of the "add ons" I wanted could be purchased once they knew I actually liked the bike. This was confusing to me, and felt very dismissive. I didn't want to wait weeks for a bike to come in, bring it home, and then wait weeks for fenders and other parts to come in before I could really ride it the way I wanted to. I'm not sure if they didn't know (or want to admit) that they had ordered the wrong model, or if there was something more icky going on...but with the size of purchase...I no longer felt comfortable. I canceled my order and went elsewhere.
