Was recently in Fallon and saw this cute restaurant so decided to stop in for lunch. It looks like a house from the outside-very cozy and welcoming on the inside. They have a full bar but we ordered some delicious iced tea that tasted freshly brewed. We had the half sandwich with soup of the day (clam chowder) and the salad trio with scoops of tuna, chicken and egg salad. The tuna was my favorite and everything was very good with good service.

Delicious lunch on a beautiful day. Ate outside while the weather was warm. We had the Steak salad, Half Cottonwood Sandwich and soup. Washed them down with ice tea and strawberry lemonade. The soup of the day was Chicken Florentine. So good, another bowl was ordered! Great service too. Wish we had room for dessert: Brownie and White Chocolate Crème Brûlée! We love this place and highly recommend it!

This place is awesome! Had a very nice vibe to it like you are at your grandmas house. All the waitresses were super friendly and the food was bussin. I couldn't believe how great this place was AND they had sweet tea and I'm a sucker for some sweet tea. Definitely come eat here!

During a work trip with another coworker (who also Yelps we learned on our road trip) yippee, since she previously resided in the area I told her that I was researching early in the morning and the two spots she mentioned were the two I scoped out on Yelp. It was pretty busy making it over past noon, but we received immediate seating. The staff were warm and attentive although the place was buzzing. I went with the Christo which was a take on the Monte Cristo, the sandwich was stuffed to the brim and they brought it out nice and hot. I liked the sauce adding in some sweet to the sandwich and I ordered the side lemon poppy salad which I enjoyed! I was eyeballing the Creme brulee but did not order, but would love to come back to try some of their desserts. This was a great dining experience in the city of Fallon.

We were recommended by someone to come here for lunch and unfortunately we were pretty disappointed. We came on a Saturday around 2pm, the place barely had anyone there and we still waited at least 30 mins for our food which was just sandwiches and fries. After waiting for that long, they brought out the wrong sandwich for me and we had to wait for them to remake the correct one; mine did not come out until we had been there for 40 mins. The sandwiches themselves were pretty average, I got a tuna salad sandwich and my husband got the Rueben. The best part was the fries, definitely worth the upgrade to get those! However, the upgrade is at least $2 more which made it about $18 for a sandwich and fries which felt pretty pricey for lunch. She was supposed to bring us both a side of ranch but only one of us got that. With the wait time, wrong food delivered (with no discount or anything for the extra wait), price, and average food, I'd say it's closer to 2 stars than 3 stars. I give 3 stars for a place that was okay but had no redeeming qualities about it, and only give 2 stars if there were actually negative things about the experience. I wanted to like this place but am sad to say it did not live up to the hype.

The Cottonwood Sandwich is absolutely fantastic. It's not little deli slices. There is lots of meat and it's chopped turkey so it has texture. The Salsa has the flavor you need that makes it as delicious as it. The service was super fast. Even though I ordered to go, they found out name and got me my food super quickly and they were extremely nice. Ambience is very "American". There is a lot of American memorabilia, including red, white and blue color inside. A very homey spot to stay and eat at.

Visiting my hometown and stopping by the Slanted Porch!

I came to visit my hometown and my parents and had to stop by one of my favorite restaurants from when I was in highschool: The Slanted Porch! What a quaint and cute place, both with a cafe' vibe, indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar. All in a cozy house, with good company. We definitely had a blast, and it's as I remembered it. I love how all of the dishes are named after notable areas around the city, it's great! I opted for the spinach salad and added a grilled chicken breast, it was delicious! The bacon poppyseed dressing was absolutely scrumptious and I truly enjoyed it. My husband opted for the spicy chicken sandwich, and while it was good, he was hoping for a bigger kick, but otherwise it was great. My mom got the Taylor Street sandwich and my dad also got the soup special of the day, both seemed to be enjoyed! The service was phenomenal and with a smile, I certainly missed this whenever I visit. I can't wait to come back when I get a chance to!

I am a big fan of the Slanted Porch. My only complaint is that they aren't open long enough, being open for lunch only for a few hours each day. But that is made up for by the fantastic burgers and desserts. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is chill. Overall, I love eating here!

Fajitas Gourmet popped up, and since my husband LOVES a good fajita, of course we had to stop! And I'm so glad we did! The place was PACKED when we got there, which is usually a pretty good sign. Everyone was eating, laughing and having a good time. It just had a really fun atmosphere. Our waitress was wonderful. She was so kind, sweet and attentive throughout our meal. They started us off with fresh chips and salsa, which were delicious. Of course, we had to try the Flaming Fajitas! And when they say flaming, they mean FLAMING. The presentation is such a neat experience. They bring them out and literally light them up into this huge ball of flames right at your table. Definitely check out my pictures and video because it was so cool to watch! And thankfully, they didn't just look good they tasted amazing too! My husband absolutely loved them and is already craving them again. We also tried the taquitos, and my daughter ordered a beef enchilada. Everyone loved their food. Everything we tried was flavorful and delicious. we also had the margaritas and those were really good too and actually had a nice little kick to them. What really stood out besides the food was the service. From our waitress to the bussers to the guys bringing out the food, everyone was attentive and kind. Just great service all the way around, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. This was one of those random road trip stops that ended up being a great find. My husband is already talking about going back, so apparently we're going to have to make a trip to Fallon one day just to eat here again. Trust the YELP reviews and make sure to stop here! Definitely worth the stop -- and GET THE FLAMING FAJITAS!

Waiting for my car to be serviced, I was looking for something to eat. If you follow my reviews,…read moreyou know I'm always on the lookout for new places to try while supporting local businesses. We spotted JD Slingers and decided to check it out. The parking lot is small, and if you're heading east on Reno Highway, you could easily miss it since it's tucked behind the tall Depot building in the Bonanza Casino complex. We arrived around 8:30 a.m., and there were only about three other occupied tables. The menu offered much more than just breakfast, with everything from burgers to sandwiches to sirloin steaks, meatloaf, and other comfort food favorites. Of course, what immediately caught my eye was the pastrami sandwich! I love a good pastrami, but I'm pretty particular--I prefer leaner slices rather than the fattier cuts that many places serve. Our server, Anna, wasn't sure whether the pastrami was lean or not, but I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! It was served on what I believe was a hoagie roll with just pastrami and pickles, and it was absolutely delicious. The pastrami was tender, flavorful, and just the way I like it. I only added a little mustard toward the end because the roll was a bit thick, but honestly, it didn't need any condiments. It was great just as it came. I opted for the coleslaw instead of fries, and it was a great choice--it was fresh, creamy, and paired perfectly with the sandwich. As we were finishing our meal, the restaurant became noticeably busier. Anna was the only server on the floor, yet she kept up with the growing crowd while continuing to provide friendly, attentive service. I also noticed the manager making the rounds to check on guests, which is always appreciated. Overall, this was a great first visit. Great food, friendly service, and a local spot I'll definitely be coming back to--especially for that pastrami sandwich!

The skillet was ok because the gravy was ice cold. We all really enjoyed the sourdough bread/toast. It had a rich, flavor and was better than most! The service was HORRIBLE! I would go back because of the food for sure.
