Yummy tacos and friendly staff. We ordered 7 tacos and all of them were delicious. Lots of flavor, stuffed with meat and toppings, and very filling. Couldn't pick a favorite as they were all so tasty! The guy taking our order at the counter us was great -- he was super friendly and gave recommendations and made sure the tacos were made how we like (I'm not a cilantro fan and after telling him that, he made sure none of my tacos had cilantro on them). We went at 8 pm and it's always a gamble going somewhere this late with how fresh the food is, and I was pleasantly surprised by how great it all was. The inside has lots of tables and seating. The place was packed and popular, it seems that their Tuesday special draws quite the crowd so we did have to wait a bit for our food but not too long and the staff was great at communicating with us and brought food to our table. As a vegetarian the options are limited to one taco the "cornivore". The cornivore was actually delicious and I would get it again. The tater tot nachos were less impressive. I get to Salt Lake City for work a few times a year and the last time I went, back in June 2025, somebody recommended I try the new Smoked Taco location. As it turned out, it was right across from my hotel. The overall vibe is casual food. Nothing fancy. The staff was pleasant. I got a range of tacos to try and everything was good. I have been to several smoked tacos in the area so when I took a friend here who had never been we walked in and the smell of dirty dish towels overwhelmed us so bad we could eat here. I was super disappointed because I had told her the food was good and the service was nice. This new space is bigger than the outside suggests and to my surprise people were still eating here even though the smell was bad. Tacos I recommend are the shrimp and carnitas. We ordered The Fleeing Californian , The Hot Chick & The Memphis . These are all delicious tacos . Order them as they come with all the good stuff on them . They are amazing ! The tacos come with a lot of meat & are very filling . The Hot chick is my favorite . It is a chicken tender with smoked hot honey , biscuit crumble & green onions. We got the chips & salsa . Food was great. I am not a cilantro fan and forgot to ask for no cilantro. It was difficult to scrape off due to the small size of the cilantro. I would definitely come back and next time as to omit the cilantro. The queso sauce was a tad spicy but had great flavor read more

The flavor was solid, pork had that nice smoky tenderness, and the crispy cheese shell had potential to be fire. Since it was delivery, the cheese lost that crunch I was hoping for, but that's on the travel, not the kitchen. Can't really rate service or ambiance since it was DoorDash, I'd say 3 as delivered, probably a strong 4 fresh in-house. Got 2 smoking pastor tacos. The name is very deceiving. They were not pastor, they were more like carnitas. They were also drowning in onion! Other than that the tacos were a good size which I was hoping they would be since they're $5 each. 2 were plenty for me. Friendly service and they're pretty quick with prepping your food. The front desk person/cooks were friendly and welcoming. Prices were reasonable. The tacos had interesting flavors but were not hot. The smoked pork was especially good. The beef was tough. The quacamole had an acidic flavor, so it didn't taste fresh. The shrimp were tiny and spicy. The serve-yourself drink bar oddly had no garbage can for straw wrappers and other trash. The food was passable but expensive for what you get. Everything is covered in either a sweet or extremely creamy/fatty sauce. Very little meat for what you pay for and the flavor of the meat is hidden by the mountain of sauce they drench the tacos in. The tortillas were fried and double stuffed with a cheese in between, more eye candy to distract from the lack of flavorful meat on the tacos. Not a fan of how sweet everything was either, after eating a fair amount of different dishes I was left craving some real Mexican, not whatever this is. This felt like dressed up costa vida for almost twice the price. To management, tone down the sweetness and add some more protein. There's good bones here but you're hiding it behind candied jalapeños and fatty creamy sauces. read more

The tacos were a little sweet which I am not a fan of but they were a great quality. The tacos were a good size and the nachos were a great value. I wish the nachos had a little more meat on them though. I decided to bring my wife the next day. I ordered the tater tots and they were great. These guys do a fantastic job with their sauces. We tried the churro fries which were good. The quesadillas were not very good and I have to admit the chicken tacos are not on the same level as the tacos I got the day before. That being said the second day they were not busy. The store was still a complete mess. The tables need to be cleaned. The food was terrible but it wasn't the staffs fault, its the food chain in general. Their "al pastor" tacos aren't actually al pastor. The pork isnt marinated in adobo and it tastes like they use liquid smoke. The tortillas are weird and didnt taste pure corn or flour. The chips were cheap and low quality and the salsa was sub par. The atmosphere is corporate and manufactured. If you want a crappy inauthentic taco then this is the place for you... otherwise steer clear. read more

The food was such a wonderful surprise. Taco's are pretty much the same everywhere but these with the diversity of flavors, are spectacular. Interesting twist on tacos and the meat. Just could not taste what meat I had ordered. And expensive per taco. $5-$8 per. If it wasn't drowning in cheese sauce maybe could taste the meat flavoring. Had smoked meat nachos too. Large platter (Tray sized). But again swimming in cheese and sauce. Could not grab hold of a soggy chip so didn't finish. Any cheese and sauce needs to be served on side or at a condiment buffet. $30 lunch repeat will have to wait as I save up my lunch money. read more
