    The social burger

Wait staff came to the table in reasonable amount of time. The order was taken -35 minutes later the hamburger that was supposed to be rare came out well done and burnt bacon/cheese on top. The red fish dinner was average. The mashed potatoes and rice that came with it were very good. It's been a while since I've been out but eight dollars for a beer on tap. Seemed like a lot. The server offered to re-cook the hamburger however I was not willing to wait another 35 minutes, so I took it home and hopefully the dog will love it. The place was very noisy and it seemed more like a bar than a restaurant . I guess it was a poor choice for a Mother's Day dinner.

Really great atmosphere, service, food and drinks! My server was very helpful with recommendations. I ended up having the beef and beer cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries and a side of truffle Mac and cheese. Warning: the side of mac and cheese is huge! Overall it was delicious and a great value. The beef and beer cheese is MESSY to eat in the best way and the fried onion rings offered a great textural crunch. Lava cake was also delicious! I can't for the life of me remember my servers name but she was working in the outside section around 4:30 last Saturday. She was so so sweet! Overall a great restaurant in a cute little town. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be back!

New establishment on the Courthouse square in Monticello, FL. Been passing by it often and today decided to stop for lunch. Good menu, lots of options. Full bar. Outdoor seating. I just had a hamburger and fries. So figure if one can get the basics right everything else should fall in line? So for the lunch burger experience, asked for medium burger and got a medium burger. It was very good. Fries were very good, crispy on outside, soft on inside. They are off to a great start. Will be back to try other things. Try 'em and see what you think.

Was in town with my sister to attend a play at the downtown Opera House. We wanted to grab a bite to eat at a local place before heading back home. We got into a conversation with another person sitting behind us and he mentioned "The Social"; he was informed by one of the persons working the play that this was a good place to eat - so we decided to give it a shot. Took us a minute to try to figure out where to park in that it seemed the parking lot in front of the restaurant was under construction. In any case, we parked across the street and were in the restaurant at the drop of a hat. :o) We were pleasantly greeted and informed that we could sit where we liked. From the moment we stepped in until we left, we had an enjoyable experience. The service was superb; our waitress was very attentive. We started with the fried calamari, which was seasoned and cooked just right. The only downside to this was that the Thai chili sauce was already drizzled on the calamari and I would have preferred (and was thinking) that the sauce would be on the side. The minor issue with this is that the sauce made the calamari a tiny bit soggy. However, it was still good! We had leftovers, but sticking them in the air fryer to munch on later won't be a problem! LOL! I ordered a side Caesar salad and the Lobster bisque. My sister ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. I wasn't too crazy about the bisque, though it was decent. I will certainly plan to visit again when I am back in town. I look forward to trying other menu items!

Really cool, new place in Monticello, FL. Tapas type menu and the food is excellent. Decent liquor options, but compared to the rest of the town they are excellent. Incredibly friendly staff and great bar tenders. Everyone make you feel like they are glad you're here and the owners come say hi. Cool, warm, small-town, friendly vibe. Live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights. Stop by, you won't be disappointed.

The food which we ordered was good but mediocre and yet very pricey. We had beer that was was overpriced ($8 per glass). Will not be back.

The pictures are from a recent event they did to showcase Monkey Shoulder whisky. They also now offer charcuterie boards from Little Paris, a restaurant nearby. A nice addition! But here's what's really great about the Lounge: if you aren't sure what brand or type of liquor you might want to buy or try, ask for a flight. We wanted to explore various toed of gin and they poured us a flight of different brands. But more than that, they poured it for us straight up and with tonic so we could try then both ways. Then, since they are part of and connected to the liquor store, we could go next door and buy the gins we liked. Pretty cool and very convenient.

Though you cannot enjoy a cigar inside they have a nice covered area outside the lounge. Spirit availability was impressive for the size lounge. I was interested in Redbreast Irish Whiskey and they had 12, 15, and wow 21!!! The lounge inside was what I consider small, bar seating, and some table and comfortable chairs. The outside area was covered. Comfortable chairs with tables and ashtrays to handle about 25+/-. Two TV's. There are standing fans and heaters. There was no service to the outside area, so you picked-up your choice of spirit and got comfortable outside. We enjoyed our spirit and cigars with no one complaining about the smoke. It happened to be a very rainy night and the north area was a bit flooded, but no leaks from above. Pro Great selection of spirits. Cigar and I think cigarettes, evidence by butts in the ashtrays, are allowed outside. The inside lounge was very clean, as well as the two unisex bathrooms. Con The flooded area was unfortunate, but there was only three of us, and it didn't cause an issue. The Ashtrays had been mostly emptied, but not wiped down. Really not inviting to rest your cigar on a dirty ashtray. An easy wipe with a microfiber goes a long way. Not really a Con, but there was no Service outside on the Tuesday night we visited. Overall a nice experience for a dreary night. My friends and I will return, hopefully on a nicer evening. Note: If you don't bring your own cigar, the liquor store has a small selection available right next door.

My dining companion ordered the Spiced Grouper Sandwich, including a nice side piece of grouper that was larger than the bun, lettuce, red onion, garlic sauce, bun, served alongside kettle chips. The meals were delicious and filling. With an ice tea the total was about $41. The server sent my dining companion home with the an iced tea to go. The food was promptly served. Plates were removed on a timely basis. It's a refreshing and cool spot to give one respite from the souther humidity and heat. A definite gem for lunch!
