Went to The Social 2.0 for Sunday brunch today. We've been there a couple of times now, and it's always interesting to see what they spin up as a daily special. I tried today's special. A soft shell crab BLT. Was awesome. Wife had the breakfast AVO off the brunch menu and added grilled chicken. She loved it!! Wife had the bottomless mimosas which is a great deal . Staff was extremely friendly and prompt! Been there a couple of times on Tuesday's for their $1 wing night. Being from Buffalo NY area, these are some of the best wings I've ever had. Very Long wait and did not see server again after kitchen staff delivered meal. Nothing special about the food

Wait staff came to the table in reasonable amount of time. The order was taken -35 minutes later the hamburger that was supposed to be rare came out well done and burnt bacon/cheese on top. The red fish dinner was average. The mashed potatoes and rice that came with it were very good. It's been a while since I've been out but eight dollars for a beer on tap. Seemed like a lot. The server offered to re-cook the hamburger however I was not willing to wait another 35 minutes, so I took it home and hopefully the dog will love it. The place was very noisy and it seemed more like a bar than a restaurant . I guess it was a poor choice for a Mother's Day dinner. read more

Really great atmosphere, service, food and drinks! My server was very helpful with recommendations. I ended up having the beef and beer cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries and a side of truffle Mac and cheese. Warning: the side of mac and cheese is huge! Overall it was delicious and a great value. The beef and beer cheese is MESSY to eat in the best way and the fried onion rings offered a great textural crunch. Lava cake was also delicious! I can't for the life of me remember my servers name but she was working in the outside section around 4:30 last Saturday. She was so so sweet! Overall a great restaurant in a cute little town. Had an outstanding experience tonight! The food, live music, service, and atmosphere were all great. The food, seriously, was delicious. My husband said it was the best French Dip sandwich he's had. I had Don's Philly, and it was so yummy. Drinks were good, as well. It was a hectic Friday night, but they managed it well despite being down a bartender. The staff worked well together. The owner was present and assisting in all aspects needed. I will happily return for more!! read more

Let me start with the good: the food here is absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the loaded nachos as an appetizer and I had the tortellini with grilled chicken, bacon, and Alfredo sauce for my entree. Both were top-notch. The nachos feature homemade tortilla chips that are fluffy, almost bread-like, and while they do get soggy quickly, they're incredibly flavorful, it's something to eat fast and savor. My daughter had the kids' chicken tenders breaded with Cheez-Its and a side of fries, and she loved every bite. Clearly, the kitchen knows what they're doing, and I'd come back for the food alone. Unfortunately, the service on this particular night was an entirely different story. To be fair, there was a Christmas festival in town, so the restaurant was busier than usual. I wanted to cut them some slack, but what I witnessed and experienced was beyond disorganized... it was downright chaotic and frustrating. A family seated behind me at the same exact time waited an hour to place their order. I placed mine within 10 minutes of sitting down. Despite repeatedly getting up and going inside and flagging down a particular gentleman who I assume to be a manager or owner, who came outside and assured them (by yelling from the door) several times that someone would come, no server ever did. They ultimately left without eating, and the bartender (no idea why she was sent to talk to them) who finally came outside to their table and spoke to them simply shrugged it off with an apology and a "have a good night." That level of neglect is truly unacceptable. As for my personal experience, while ordering food and drinks initially went smoothly, everything fell apart after our meal arrived. Our waitress vanished entirely. No drink refills, no check-ins. I had to flag down the overwhelmed manager/owner just to get a drink refill. Then, when it came time to leave, I had to go inside three separate times to hunt down my waitress for to-go boxes and the bill. Each time I asked, she promised to bring them, but she kept disappearing. Finally, after my fourth reminder, I met her at the door as she brought the boxes out, visibly stressed and admitting she was "about to cry," to a passerby who hugged her. The atmosphere was pure chaos, staff running frantically, the manager/owner yelling directions, customers looking frustrated, and tension hanging in the air. It was not the relaxing dining experience I'd hoped for. Now, about the seating. The inside dining area was beyond packed. It's an open space with tables along the walls and a long bar as the main focus. Once bar seats ran out, people stood around ordering drinks, turning the space into something that feels more like a nightclub. They were on top of each other. I had to squeeze through so many people to get to the restroom. It's hard to walk through, the music and TVs are loud, and the noise just echoes in the room. It's not somewhere I'd ever want to sit and eat. Eating outside is much more relaxed but it seems when you sit outside, you're essentially invisible to the wait staff. It's a tough dilemma. I'd only consider coming here on a night when the weather is nice enough that I can sit outside. While I'm willing to give this place another shot on a slow night, it's hard to overlook how poorly handled the service issues were, both for myself and for the other customers who left empty-handed. The food is so good, and it deserves better. I hope they find a way to get organized because this could be a real gem with the right leadership and structure. read more

The sandwich, 'The Courthouse', was probably on of the top three worst sandwiches I ever actually had to pay for. 4. The AVO (Avocado) BLT was also the worst sandwich we ever had to pay for. 5. New establishment on the Courthouse square in Monticello, FL. Been passing by it often and today decided to stop for lunch. Good menu, lots of options. Full bar. Outdoor seating. I just had a hamburger and fries. So figure if one can get the basics right everything else should fall in line? So for the lunch burger experience, asked for medium burger and got a medium burger. It was very good. Fries were very good, crispy on outside, soft on inside. They are off to a great start. Will be back to try other things. Try 'em and see what you think. read more

I'll begin with a quote on the way home from my 11 year old daughter: "How is the Chef so mad? He didn't care about the food." I ordered a Rare, Blue if possible, Ribeye Steak. Waitress said the chef should understand. It was gray all the way through, well done. It must have been microwaved, boiled, or cooked in a sous vide. Regardless, this was the furthest possible thing from a blue rare steak possible, AND IT STILL HAD NO SEAR WHATSOEVER. The truffle mac and cheese ordered as a side has no cheese in the béchamel, and no truffle. I let them know about the problems, having cut the steak in half at the thickest section to show zero pink, and they made a replacement. The replacement was also gray, and they put shredded cheese on top of the same truffle mac. Downright disrespectful, I was not interested. Wife ordered the Seasonal Fish, menu says it's blackened. She ordered it because she likes blackened fish. It was not blackened whatsoever, and was overcooked she says. When I say it was not blackened, I mean ZERO blackening seasoning to be found. Two of the kids ordered a burger, they were both ordered medium well. One came back well done, that's fine. The other was rare, pink the whole way through. How this could possibly have been done so incorrectly I do not understand, and it was ordered for a child. The other child ordered fried shrimp. It was indeed fried shrimp. The kicker! It is my birthday, and I voiced the problems to a server, and then was met with the general manager and chef...The manager was polite and understanding. I opened with "I will pay whatever you think is fair, but this is unacceptable," and explained. The chef had the audacity to say he watched the cooks put blackening on the fish, asked me why I asked for a replacement steak I didn't want, told me I was raging when I said he could keep it, then called me a "stupid MFer" as he walked back into the establishment. Avoid this place for your own peace of mind. I say this while eating cold leftover pizza at 10pm on my birthday for dinner. 0/10. read more

Unfortunately the service was not good. Our waitress came by once the whole night. The cocktails were super sweet and the food was just kind of blah. I had steak, which was okay, Mack and cheese which just tasted like oil, and seasonal veggies which was all bellpeppers. The person I was dining with had the pork chop which was under cooked. Was in town with my sister to attend a play at the downtown Opera House. We wanted to grab a bite to eat at a local place before heading back home. We got into a conversation with another person sitting behind us and he mentioned "The Social"; he was informed by one of the persons working the play that this was a good place to eat - so we decided to give it a shot. Took us a minute to try to figure out where to park in that it seemed the parking lot in front of the restaurant was under construction. In any case, we parked across the street and were in the restaurant at the drop of a hat. :o) We were pleasantly greeted and informed that we could sit where we liked. From the moment we stepped in until we left, we had an enjoyable experience. The service was superb; our waitress was very attentive. We started with the fried calamari, which was seasoned and cooked just right. The only downside to this was that the Thai chili sauce was already drizzled on the calamari and I would have preferred (and was thinking) that the sauce would be on the side. The minor issue with this is that the sauce made the calamari a tiny bit soggy. However, it was still good! We had leftovers, but sticking them in the air fryer to munch on later won't be a problem! LOL! I ordered a side Caesar salad and the Lobster bisque. My sister ordered the chicken sandwich with fries. I wasn't too crazy about the bisque, though it was decent. I will certainly plan to visit again when I am back in town. I look forward to trying other menu items! read more

Really cool, new place in Monticello, FL. Tapas type menu and the food is excellent. Decent liquor options, but compared to the rest of the town they are excellent. Incredibly friendly staff and great bar tenders. Everyone make you feel like they are glad you're here and the owners come say hi. Cool, warm, small-town, friendly vibe. Prices are way too high for the amount and quality of the food you get. Very very disappointing. $20 for a mac and cheese truffle that's portioned for a 3rd grader. Drumettes were ok at best. Very dry and honestly just kind of boring. Scallops were microscopic and just ok. Everything was just ok. Don't recommend mostly for the prices. read more

Went last night. Beautiful interior, outside/inside seating, the menu was diverse and the food was great. Service was exceptional and prices are very fair. Sat at a high top and it was great. This place will be killer once the Christmas lights go up outside. Going back next weekend for sure. Seems like Tallahassee's best Restaurant is in Monticello. read more

The food was really good! The atmosphere was great. The clientele was very diverse ranging from young professionals to retired age ranges. The staff were super nice and very friendly. Amberly G. Was our server and she did an amazing job. Very attentive and polite. The food came out very quick but was cooked to perfection. Not sure why they only have three stars. I have ate all over the world, ranging California to Chicago to Miami to Poland to Germany to Mexico to Canada. I was very pleased with the service and food. So I can only guess that someone left a bad review to try to get something for free or just likes to be negative or was one of their competitors. My family is from Monticello so I was very happy to see this type of establishment come up. I hope the owners keep the quality that they currently have. I will absolutely be back again. Oh and the bartender made amazing drinks. Not to strong but not weak by any means. And with what I usually order, there is rarely a happy median, it's usually one of the other.
