I love the Social on Depot Hill! Great concept of a "mullet bar" - upscale & elevated in the front, relaxed & more casual in the back. I have dined here numerous times and been pleased every single time. Good food, drinks, staff & atmosphere! My favorites are the pretzels with beer cheese, charcuterie board & pepperoni pizza.

It's is a bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Alexis is a great server. She's informative and attentive. The place is clean and Inviting.

When the special of the night is "Alfredo... with chicken, pork, or steak, take your pick!" and it's also already on the menu... this is a red flag. I quickly started scanning the menu for something that might not give me food poisoning. When the food is stored in outside freezers and there's a horde of live cats running around everywhere... it's a red flag. I love good bar food, but this was not good. My wife's Philly Cheesesteak tasted like propane gas. My chili dog was on par with something you might get at a junior high football game. Even my kids rejected their chicken tenders, which is saying something. Just 100% industrial, frozen, crap. The $13 margarita was even bad. It tasted like bad sour mix and may have had a drop or two of tequila in it. Giving one star for the server, who tried her best. And the location on the river was very nice. Service was slow too though. This was the worst $85 "dinner" I've had in a very, very long time. For the love of god, reduce the size of your menu and do a few things really well. No one wants a bunch of frozen entrees at a bar.

Cocktails were well done and the wine pairings recommended astute. Nothing to complain about except some of the items were cold - there was one person serving the entire bar and restaurant and obviously had some timing issues. Also some attitude: after delivering cocktails to my wife and me he forgot her mom's - after I reminded him he said "oh I know" and then proceeded to serve four other patrons' order at the bar and then another two top's before even starting hers. It finally arrived after the cold mushrooms were delivered. I'm chalking this up to a short staffed situation and a specific individual, so if you live nearby or are traveling through looking for a nice spot for dinner or lunch I would definitely recommend. The environment is also very pleasant with a nice bar and dining room of high top tables.

She was attentive without hovering, had great recommendations, and made our first visit even better. We started with cocktails, and I couldn't decide between the Clover Club and the Crimson Mirage. I'm so glad we tried both! The Crimson Mirage was beautiful, served in a dainty glass with a flower petal sugar rim, but the Clover Club stole the show with its silky egg white foam. We also ordered the focaccia bread and made the best decision of the night by saving a few pieces to dip into the spicy lobster bisque. Do not skip the bisque! It may be a small portion, but it's packed with flavor. And despite the name, it wasn't very spicy at all. I don't handle much heat, and it was perfectly mild. For dinner, we shared the surf and turf with lobster. Everything was excellent. I got to try the filet cooked medium-rare with the rich demi-glace, along with the mashed potatoes and asparagus, which were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the baked potato, and it's definitely large enough to share. Pro tip: use the leftover butter from the focaccia with the potato--it was delicious! We wanted dessert, but we were simply too full. That just gives us another reason to come back. We also learned they have a happy hour at the bar, which is now on our list. The atmosphere was one of our favorite parts. It's dark, cozy, and has a sophisticated lounge vibe. Watching the bartender enthusiastically shaking cocktails added to the experience, and we appreciated that there seems to be both a lively bar area and a more traditional dining room. Raven is a fantastic addition to the downtown strip. We can't wait to come back and try the scallops.

We started very early this evening 6/22 at Raven with res in the lounge for two. Two couples at the bar and no tables taken when we arrived. We were seated at the absolute worst table in the lounge, looking at the curtains and only 1/4 view of bar. We asked to move 4 ft over to the corner booth to see into the room. We remained the only table occupied for 50 min...why did they choose to shut us out in the corner? Cocktails, wine, split the wedge salad, excellent. Waygu burger great, but our Coral Gables neighborhood Ruth's Chris NY Strip is better. When our waitress asked if we wanted dessert we said no...our waitress, who had been lovely, said she wasn't surprised and it was 'impressive' how much we ate...she was saying we ate a lot? one app/2 entrees? At $260. We will not be back.

There's plenty of parking nearby so you don't have to walk far. This neat beer bar reminds me of the crowler shops that you used to find around Atlanta, with around 30 taps containing about a thrid local beer, so you can sample several local breweries without visiting each one (they're mostly not too near each other so this is very convenient). The taproom "beertender" seemed to be fairly knowledgeable regarding the various offerings - there's also a convenient list highlighting the different beers with style notes. We sat at the bar and were able to bring in some food from the nearby restaurants (I grabbed some wings at the nearby Marthie Ann's which were excellent). To drink I tried Hoptown's own Orange Mango Wheat - a somewhat basic wheat beer with hings of sweet tangerine and mango - nothing special. I had a Maine Brewing "Lunch" with the wings which is always a winner - it's an exceptional New England IPA. Service was great - I can see myself hitting Ooltewah just to come by for a break in driving.
