I love spa's. I grew up in Carmel. Hadn't been here for 8 years. It is really nice. Massage with Soring was wonderful. No ocean view- but surroundings are beautiful. You can order lunch. You get what you pay for. My husband treat since he got to check one of his bucket list and golf pebble beach, I got to enjoy a day at the spa. I had 3 services, ttl around $550 US. If you've been fortunate to have some spa experience in your life, you would know that most spas have some sort of relaxation room or medication area. The conservatory room at the spa at Pebble Beach is beyond words! Its inviting, calming and soothing before. Even on a brisk day, sitting out in the conservatory room is great b/c of the HUGE fire pit they have in the middle, but if its too cold, you can retreat in there inside waiting area; still very peaceful My services: Body scrub- I am not a modest person and I had a male doing my service. I thought he sort of felt weird but, hey, its his job why would he feel weird. Anyway, very professional about the "private areas." Even though in my past experiences, I like my front upper area to be scrubbed, I would assume men shouldn't do this to women....makes sense professionally. after the service I went back to the conservatory to relax, they give you a good 10 minutes to sit and meditate alitte while. There were so other women in there and we quietly chatted about our services. Everyone is so welcoming! Pebble Massage (they are know for it!) - Holy S**t, I highly recommend if you go to this spa, this is the one service to get. First off, my lady was so attentive to MY body and its needs. You sometimes don't realize where you hold your stress until someone else is pushing and rubbing (with good pressure) on those areas. I can't stress enough how amazing this was. If I could, I would do this twice a month. She didn't seem religious but very spiritual which came across as comforting and in-tune with my body. Again after the service, I went to the conservatory to hang out some more. My last service was a facial- my esthetician was a funny lady who really enjoyed what she did for a living. Alittle more talkative than I like especially after the day I had. But overall, a good normal cleaning facial. After all the services, I went up to the salon and looked around, there were alot of ladies getting nails and hanging out on the plush floral balcony. Very nice! It over looks the pool, which you can also utilize while you are there. I then went down to use the spa tub, its community but if your shy, they will give you a bath suit to use. Very nice, you can read a book or magazines while you sit there. They also have an oxygen room, I didn't go in there, but a women was in there looking quite peaceful w/ cucumbers on her eyes. They have a sauna and a steam room, all nicely equip with extra towels when needed. I took a shower and they provided a prepacked razor to shave and a toothbrush as well. I hung out to do my makeup and hair. They provided, spray on deodorant, all hair products, dryer, curling iron and flat iron by request. Gratitude is 20% and its automatically added to your bill; so you don't have to think about how much to give each person. I like that! As you can see, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was there to relax and have a good time, and that I did. I have read some other posts and yes its pricy, but you know that going into it, you are at Pebble Beach people? Its very clean, the employees are very attentive and nice, and its an overall great experience. I want to go back tomorrow! read more

This place is on the decline. Used to be great. They are resting on the laurels of the beautiful facility. The staff is pleasant but the services can be great or awful --- it is the luck of the draw. For this price there are a lot better spas in the area. This is a definite place to miss when visitting the Monterey Penninsula. read more

The Good: Red Flower Ritual- It is a combination of a body scrub and massage. The treatment was wonderful. The scents that they use are nice and not overpowering. And the scrub left my skin feeling silky smooth. Bonus that the spa has new technology and you are able to be showered off while laying down. I went with the expectation that this wouldn't be quite as relaxing as a massage which was accurate. But it is still relaxing and you feel like you have accomplished something at the end. (Who doesn't like getting scrubbed down like a baby?!) The amenities in the locker room seemed nice and the products offered were top notch. The Bad: I was given a quick tour but was never shown where the highly talked about conservatory was. I wandered around a bit before asking another spa patron where to find it. After I located it and laid down to relax with a magazine, I realized I wasn't sure if they would know to find me for my appointment. After going back and forth in my head, I finally asked another spa patron who informed me that they would. Not a huge deal, but also makes it a little bit harder to relax when you are worrying about details like this. The Ugly: After finishing my treatment I went back to the locker room to quickly check my phone. I was approached by an attendant who let me know the spa would be closing early (in 30 minutes!) because it was slow. I have to say, I was shocked! I had just shelled out $270 for a treatment (which was wonderful) but I had planned on hanging out at the spa, enjoying all the amenities and getting ready for my dinner there. Obviously with only 30 minutes notice I wasn't even able to properly shower off and get ready for dinner (I had to attend with my hair in a wet bun). Not to mention this left me with no time to enjoy any of the fabulous amenities the spa had to offer. When I was told this there were still at least 2 other woman in the locker room area. I think it is one thing to close a business if there is no one there, but if paying customers are still present, I do not feel like you should close a business early. It was a disappointing end to what would have been a wonderful experience. read more

The Spa at Pebble Beach left me feeling very underwhelmed. My husband's family was in town visiting, so there was a total of 5 of us visiting the spa, so you could say we spent quite a bit of money there. I arrived about 40 minutes early with the rest of my party, the facilities are nice but rather small. The conservatory is very nice but the space could be better used in the locker room. The hot tub is very small, if it was busy I wouldn't want to be in such close quarters with strangers. I went to the conservatory about ten minutes early to wait for my therapist to pick me up for my first treatment which was to begin at 10, well no one came to get me until ten after ten at which point the therapist explained she was late to work that day, which is fine provided it doesn't cut my treatment short. Well after an uninspired massage (I think I might get better at massage envy) the treatment ends on time, so my 50 minute massage was about 30 minutes, for $140 is it wrong to assume I would get the full time? Well after the sub par massage it was time for my facial. The spa is a bit of a maze so I was led through the hallway and outside and then back in somewhere else I came to the esthetics's center. The beds you lay in for the facial are very nice and comfortable so this was a good start. The woman suggested a hydrating peel add on which I got, she explained she would put it on, it would burn a little and she would remove it after 4 minutes, well during this "4" minutes she preceded to make all sorts of noise around the room and what sounded like she was emptying the trash I would estimate the 4 minutes was more like 10. She also tried to up sell me on eyebrow waxing during the service which had I wanted I would have booked. There was no massage with the facial and I have had many many facials and this was the first time there was no massage. Most of the facial consisted of her putting something on my face letting it sit while she banged around the room. Again for the money spent I've had much much better, day spas have given me better treatment. After the lack luster treatments I joined the rest of my party who enjoyed their treatments from what it sounded like, though they are from Iowa and have limited luxury spa experience. I would like to email the spa manager to explain my disappointment but the resort lists no contact info other than a reservations phone number. I guess the close to $2000 we spent at the spa that day doesn't mean much. Long story short your money could be better spent elsewhere. read more

nice spa however staff is not friendly. Also in the common lounge, there is some guy walking around with a clipboard constantly asking people for their names blah blah blah and you can't really relax. I mean I know the reasoning for it it's to keep order etc. but it's the only spot I've ever been to that is like that. It just makes it feel like you're not in a spa. That guy was actually one of the nicer employees though. All of the women in the women's locker room just were not friendly to me. I didn't joy the snacks they had and the teas, so I had a pretty good massage, it wasn't great but it was pretty good. Which is all I can really ask for. Although I will say that the spa does offer pretty good amenities although you can get kind of lost in there it's like a giant maze with multiple floors. But I've been here many times and it is somewhere I will continue to go back to every time I come to Pebble Beach.p read more

I wouldn't recommend. We paid for the day use fee and the jets in the spa were not working and we weren't told until after we paid. The sauna room does not have music in it and the inhalation room has glass windows on it so everyone can see inside. All 3 of the areas (spa, sauna and inhalation room) are in an area where the showers are and the staff hangs out back there talking...it was loud and bright and not relaxing at all. The aromatherapy machine kept making a ticking sound so no relaxation there either. I just couldn't understand why none of the rooms had music and weren't more dim and quiet. read more

The price pays for the overhead for all the fluff and puff you see; not at the powder station (although access to free tampons are nice LOL). There are two sitting rooms-one for a large group and one for a small group. Meaning, there was a loud and rowdy group of girls in the gorgeous atrium; but thank goodness there was a quiet, fire pit room with sugary limonada (I live in San Jose). My treatment was a thai herbal treatment. I felt like a volcano princess getting ready to be sacrificed. I would do it again; well..if I assumed that role again. This spa is practically an all-inclusive resort (and I am sure you could sleep in the treatment room). Food and pastries are available for order; you just have to drink your two mimosas outside of the full-service beauty salon. One of my favorite 'more bang for my buck' moments was the 'inhalation' room (insert deep breath here). Not sure what it really did, but it sure pricked up my senses while chomping on bananas. Oh; and let's not forget cute Olivia whom walked me outside to find the 18th hole to meet the other half. She even kissed me goodbye on the cheek. Now that's customer service-charm at its best (but that was probably b/c we bonded while I was there. Yes, I make friends with the housekeeping. That's how I roll.) read more

I pretty much looked up every luxury spa between SF and Monterey. After calling and talking to many different spas about their services and amenities I had maybe the best customer service experience of my life with Mary Jane Tomlin from the Spa at Pebble beach. She was so kind, warm, and knowledgeable and she did absolutely everything she could to listen to what I wanted and make my moms spa day really special. My mom was raving about what a great massage she received and how beautiful the spa was. I'm really happy with my decision and I'm really impressed with the customer service provided by the faculty at the spa! read more

Quilty admission, I collect spa treatments instead of trinkets when vacationing. Spas I know and this one lives up to the Pebble Beach mystique. We have visited the Lodge at least a couple times each year for the past 6-7 years. In that time, I have accumulated a favorite massage therapist, nail technician and most recently hair stylist. I admit this place has morphed into an addiction for me, so you are forewarned of the true price of visiting the Spa and should enter realizing that there is no twelve step program out. The staff is courteous, soothing and attentive. The facility is as lovely as possible when indoors while PB sits just out the front door. The Spa is always immaculately clean and well equipped. There is a lovely atrium waiting area that was the ultimate relaxation until they added the outdoor detached solarium room about three years ago. Lounging, daydreaming, and snoozing here next to the firepit is alone well worth a service charge. I warn you do not plan to go here for one treatment with the intent of scooting out in an hour, you will be sucked into the addictive lull and realize much later that four hours have slipped by. Inhalation, steam, sauna and showers are top notch - book early and often! read more

Spent two days at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. Had an amazing time. My husband and son went golfing, so I booked a 70 min Pebble hot stone massage. At check in I was greeted by a friendly woman named Socorro. She confirmed my spa appointment, and explained all the amenities in the spa. She let me know that there was a automatic 20% gratuity that would be added to the service. I was already aware of this and had no problem with it at all! The staff works hard to take care of us and I'm happy to oblige. My spa attendant was helpful and friendly. I changed into my robe and had some cucumber water while I waited for my therapist. Danielle was my massage therapist. She was so sweet and friendly. I really liked her. She has the best attitude and positive energy about her. She was so excited to start my massage. Her pressure was amazing and she told me to let her know if I needed more or less pressure at anytime? The hot stones just made me melt. I didn't want to leave! If I ever visit Pebble again I will be back! The spa facilities were really nice. I enjoyed and utilized everything! read more

We stayed at Spanish Bay in August and I went to the Spa for a "Day at the Spa" They set my appointments up to start at 9am and said to come 1/2 an hour early. I got there and they weren't ready to have clients so I sat and waited. To me a Day at the Spa is exactly what it sounds like, It wasn't. My first appointment was for a Facial. They took me to the locker room, etc then I waited in a waiting room until I was called. The facial was great!!! If the day had stopped there it would have be ok---but no day at the spa. No one showed me around so I really don't know what ammenties they did or did not have. I was booked for a "spa" manicure and pedicure. The Manicure and pedicure were not "spa" mani/pedis. I had to go to the salon for those. The best part was they gave you mimosas. My pedicure was one of the worst I've had. It wasn't relaxing in the salon at all partially because one of the pedicurists was angry that her appointment for an express pedicure wasn't there yet and she would fall behind. WELL,.....her EXPRESS pedicure lasted as long as my SPA pedicure, when I asked the gal if it was a SPA pedicure she just slowed down. When she was done they had me go sit in a chair and wait for the manicurist. When I looked down at my toes the ends of my toes were VERY dry and there was polish all round the nails, I had to have her touch them up---Pedicure didn't even last a day. The manicure was a bit better than the pedicure but at a table---nothing spa like about it just kind of a quicky. I would not recommend either the so called SPA manicure or pedicure---this DAY at the spa ended up being $500 with their added on $100 for tip---not worth it. Today I went to a generic nail place and had a $68 mani/pedi that FAR exceeded the Spa one. I sat in a spa chair, there was massage and hot stones and BEAUTIFUL nails at the end with. I should of gone shopping instead of to the Pebble Beach "spa". I read more
