I went to the spa once at the old location for happy hour and once for my birthday 12/3/12 at the new location. I will say the staff were very friendly and professional. I wanted to try the body wrap here since I thought I could get it for around $57 dollars. It turns out since I went to a happy hour before I could not get this service for half off. Instead I joined the half off club at the recommendation of an employee and so far that seems to be going well. Back to the body wrap. I am used to the body wrap where you are wrapped as a mummy tightly to sweat and detox etc. This one they rub mud on you and then cover you with plastic for 15 minutes, followed by a shower, and a rub down of oil. The skin treatment did give me soft skin. I feel like this treatment should be an add on to a massage not a treatment in itself because if it was not for me coming in an hour early and using the jacuzzi, sauna, the generous amounts of red wine, and the amazing customer service it would not be worth the regular price. Lucky for me I already had a facial, and massage for my birthday so this was an enhancement to build off those. I would also like to buy the enzyme mud for use at home. If I could give a -100, I would. If you are looking for actually good service, look elsewhere. THIS ONE IS THE WORST! There are tons of other great spas on Edgewater or in Orlando. They absolutely ruined a surprise I had for my boyfriend. I pre-paid for a service for my boyfriend, I then called to make the appointment and give them the order number. They sent me a text message confirmation, surprise it was the wrong kind of massage. Called back to make sure they had the right kind of massage. OK. I also told them that it was a surprise, gave them my card information AGAIN. I called 5 minutes before the appointment to make sure they knew it was pre-paid. Once he got there, they acknowledged that I had called. Then at the end of the massage, they ask him "how he wants to pay because, it's not pre-paid". He was confused, so he paid. I was embarrassed, it was a gift that I got him that he had to pay for. It ruined the surprise. Then I call the next day to speak to a Manager- THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. He said he was sorry, when the tone of his voice said otherwise. Then he stated he wasn't there the day my boyfriend came in so he can't speak to why that happened, REALLY???? What kind of response is that. He said he'd refund my boyfriends payment. But his delivery and the way he spoke to me was so bad. And then he called me back 10 minutes later asking for my boyfriends card number. Honestly, this place is a waste of time. I NEVER write reviews, but this was worth it. This has been a go to place when I lived in Orlando before and now that I moved back I gave it a go again. I loved that they have a Groupon I don't think it affected the level of service at all. There are still some major improvements to be made such as the girl used dish soap in the pedicure, no soap to wash our hands also had to use dish soap which was odd; and the back room is hot due to the sun, I had to wear my sunglasses. The appearance of some of the techs could be more professional in my opinion, just a bit more put together, but we had two pedicures and manicures and they were great. I ended up signing up for their monthly plan as they have a sauna out back so it will be great for the joints. Points to be addressed: nails techs didn't know what chairs to use for the pedicures so they were confused, I wouldn't say the place is relaxing like a spa atmosphere should be, but it gets the job done. The massage chairs are great once you are settled. There are improvements to make in the place and the way the staff handles things and the flow of your service but overall give it a go. read more

Had a very mediocre manicure from Nancy. She kept cutting my cuticles even after I asked her to stop 3 times; she seemed unfamiliar with the concept of just pushing them back. She never asked me about the shape of the nail and ignored me when I asked her repeatedly to paint the entire length of the nail - I walked out with several of my nails looking like they were already grown out. I finally realized she doesn't speak English. The manicure was $25 with a Groupon (usually $45). Given my dissatisfaction I only tipped her $5 which she was apparently disappointed with which makes me think her employer is not paying her. On the flip side most of my nails look good and she was very nice; definitely tried to please. Still, I'll never go back to the Spa. read more

Loved our time here. A going away gift from my friends and coworkers in CT. A month or two after settling in...I arrived at the The Spa with my beau prepared for a serious destressing. I was pleasantly surprised the scents were immediately calming. The front desk amazingly helpful, making us feel right at home with refreshments and a lay of the land. On Tuesday 9/25/12 My husband decided to book us a couples package ($240 to include massages and pedicures) for the following Saturday 9/29/12. We called in was asked to give a credit card to place on file for the services (to be expected with salon/spa industry). They then ended up processing the card, it was declined, so they they had to call back and get a new card (this happened twice. I know...) Which they then processed. I was on the phone with my husband for the initial booking, however I was not with him when they had called back as he had gone back to work. Today 9/27/12 We learned that family was coming to visit last minute, so my husband called to cancel and asked for a refund when he was then told that they cannot offer a refund. I then called and spoke with Andy. I explained to him our issue with not being able to receive a refund. I initially asked for a manager, and he told me a manager would not be in until Saturday. I told him that I could not wait until Saturday as that would put us in a less than 24 hours range and we would have to end up forfeiting our money, so I asked who was the next person I could speak with. He then informs me that he is a manager as well and he is actually above her, but he can't handle the issue because she was the person that processed the payment. (which is still confusing to me?) He tells me he will correspond with her and that he will get back to me. When he calls me back he immediately accuses me of lying because they had to process 3 cards, so we knew it was prepaid.. (husband and I were on the phone together when he was booking the appointment, however I was not with him when they called back to get a new card to reserve the appointment.) I explained that to Andy stating that I was on the phone for the initial booking in which the representative for the salon never explained that it was a prepaid charge nor did she explain that once processed it could not be refunded. I also told him that at this point the prepaid issue was not my problem, my problem is that they are now telling us that it cannot be refunded. He continued to focus on the fact that i was "lying" about the prepaid issue because i said I didn't know it was prepaid (which I didn't. at this point my husband didn't tell me that they had to call back to get different payment info). I continued to ask him what the two issues have to do with each other, especially after I said that my issue was not that it was prepaid(cant change that now) but that I cannot get a refund, especially because we were NEVER told that once purchased a refund could not be issued and I was calling 48hrs in advance. I got extremely frustrated with Andy informed him that I am already disputing the charge with my bank, would be posting a yelp review, and if need be I would contact the better business bureau as well as file a small claims case. at this point and hung up on him. I then went to TheSpallc.com to see if they had refund policies on their page. **Cancellation Policy: Please notify The Spa of any changes or cancellations 24 hours prior to your appointment. Any cancellations or changes within 24 hours will be subject to a 100% service charge. All appointments must be guaranteed with a credit card. All prices are subject to change. Copied directly from their page and can be found at the bottom of the "Spa Menu" page. No where on their page does it state that prepaid packages have a different refund policy, but it clearly states that any changes made prior to 24hours can be handled. I have never had an experience like this from a salon. Anywhere I have EVER gone has a no problem cancellation as long as its canceled prior to 24hrs. Andy was extremely unprofessional and not in the least bit helpful or even sympathetic that there could have been a misunderstanding or lack of information provided by his staff. Out the gate I was treated like I was a liar. This would have been my first experience with this salon, and will NEVER attempt business with them again especially because they cant seem to follow their own policies! read more

I bought a couple of nail Groupons for a few different local spas. After trying them all, The Spa really stood out to me. It's located in College Park, which is such a cute neighborhood. It was easy to find and they have plenty of off and on street parking. Inside the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They offer you wine or water while you wait but also stop by throughout your appointment to see if you need a refill. I really liked how clean everything was including newly sterilized equipment between customers. I've had gel manicures, combo mani/pedis, and signature pedicures. My favorite is the signature pedis with the hot stone massage. It's heaven while relaxing in the massage chair. I also love the convenience of being able to schedule appointments online. I've seen Nan, Mae, and Aisha. All are great but Nan is my favorite. She is so sweet and hilarious! read more

I went with my sister-- a gift from her, as I am an out-of-towner. The spa is OK. Clean. The facial and massage were average. The costs of the "specials" weren't correctly stated by the woman who made the phone appointments, and the spa greeter was pushing product even before we had a chance to sit down. The worst: the guy at the desk (the manager?) was argumentative and a bit arrogant in his response when we questioned the bill at check-out. He eventually, and reluctantly, refunded part of the fee, but I got the feeling he thought that we were the ones at fault for the misunderstanding. Nice facial. Odd setup/facilities. My suggestion: turn the GIANT bathroom into a proper locker room with benches, mirrors, counters to do hair, etc. Throwing some lockers by the back door is just awkward. Also-the sauna is never going to get used. It's like sitting in a closet. Take that space and put a proper sauna or steam room there. The services themselves are fine, but STAY AWAY FROM THE HALF-PRICE CLUB!!! I sent my cancellation letter for the half-off club over a year and a half ago (July 2010!) via USPS. They called me today (March 2012!) and claimed that my letter was never received and they were sending my account to collections. They haven't charged my card or tried to contact me about this for over a year and a half! Luckily for me, I'm overly cautious about record-keeping, and likely have a copy of the signed and dated cancellation letter filed away. Not thrilled about spending my weekend looking for it though. They clearly have a record keeping issue, as the woman I spoke with informed me that cancellations are only accepted via email, yet the email they sent me stated that mailing it in was acceptable. If you do decide to risk it and sign up, make sure to keep good records like I do! Sounds like they have a habit of "losing" cancellation forms. I'll update if this is resolved in a timely fashion, but reading that others have had the same problems makes me skeptical. read more

I went here the other day for the first time because I had a Groupon for a gel manicure/express pedicure. Everyone was very friendly, but I was disappointed in the quality of my nails. I have been getting gel manicures for 4 years and they always last me at least 2 weeks. I am on day 3 and one of my nails has already chipped. I also was disappointed in the fact that they did not have a lot of options in nail polish, especially if you want to match your manicure gel color with regular polish for the pedicure. They only had two reds in regular polish. You would think they would have more, especially around the holidays. I also did not like that they did not use liners in their pedicure tubs, and I felt like the manicure tools had not been sterilized properly. Overall, I was not impressed and will be returning to my regular nail salon. read more

Let me start this review by saying that my nails don't look bad, I am just upset at the fact that I paid for a service that was not completely done. I made an appointment at The Spa for a gel manicure on my lunch break and the only service that was actually done was having my nails painted with the gel polish. There are many other salons to choose from that will actually give you a manicure and not charge the amount that they do. To top it all off, the entire time the technician was painting my nails she was trying to sell me on some cuticle oil (I'm used to someone trying to upsell you on a pedicure or for coming back for another service, but cuticle oil! My boyfriend planned a really special evening for the both of us here. I've been to another spa called Hand & Stone which I love but I've always wanted to try this place. OMGEEE where do I start?! We arrived to our appointment ON TIME and they took about 45 minutes for our massage. While waiting we received a tour. The facility: The entire facility is really strange. There are a few different waiting rooms and all of them have horrible wallpaper thats really outdated. The crown molding is chipped and they offer drinks but the wine cups are metal. Its just odd. Some of the lights we broken in the waiting room as well. They have two manicure and pedicure rooms that look more like a cluttered class room, and there was dry spilled nail polish all over one wall that looked like no one every attempted to clean it up. The massage. As we were waiting in one of the rooms a massage therapist walked by and I noticed she was digging in her ear. I prayed that we wouldn't actually have her as tech but of course we did! UGH!!! Hopefully she washed her hands before our massage. The massage room was quite small for a a couple's spa treatment. They didn't even have baskets for us to put our clothes in so we had to fold them on a counter in a pile. The massage beds had sheets that were really rough and uncomfortable. The actual massage was ok but one of the staff members must of had a cold because someone kept blowing their nose obnoxiously outside of our door during most of the session in the hall! To make it worst the staff were extremely loud laughing further down the hall. How is anyone suppose to relax with people laughing nearby?? It was so unprofessional! The pedicure The pedicure was ok. It was decent but nothing special. We didn't even bother getting in the hot tub which my boyfriend had to pay for as an add-on, because after having a tour of the facility we didn't want to risk catching something. Price It's definitely waaay overpriced for what you actually get and the way the facility looks. They need to renovate this place badly and be more professional. I will never go back and I feel so bad my bf paid so much money for such a run down facility. Hand & Stone is way cheaper and its extremely clean with much better quality. My favorite thing about this spa is Yuna. She gives a deep tissue massage like I've only had twice in my life. It is amazing. Works deep knots out like no bodies business. My husband and I joined the nail monthly club and it is a good deal with good friendly service, I personally recommend Roma and Mino. The only issue I have is the nail room has always been too warm for me. I have a neurological issue where I get sick if overheated. Each of the 4-5 times we've gone to that room it was sultry. A couple times I left feeling sick. Others may not have that problem though. Everyone I've met at The Spa has been friendly and welcoming. I love Bree at the front desk. She is friendly and competent. I only had one service issue since coming to The Spa in 6 months and Bree made it right! I would love to try a facial soon! I do feel like the place could use some refreshing in terms of carpeting and updating, however, the staff are not responsible for that. That is an owner issue. read more

I've been having some neck & shoulders pain due to stress and the aroma therapy massage with Emily was amazingly good. She knows exactly where my pains are and work on it very well. The spa was clean and relaxing however the music selection could have been softer to make it more relax and the person in the other room was too talkative. Complimentary wine is a plus. I purchased the body butter and scrub that they have because I could not resist the beautiful smell of the Orchid. The first time customer deal is awesome and so is the membership. The 50% off first service was what lured me into The Spa. After a pleasant first visit, I immediately signed up for the half off club membership. It's definitely a good option at the moment, since I've been getting massages and chem peels on a monthly basis. Membership is $45 a quarter. Chemical peels are pretty expensive but with the membership discount I feel like I'm getting a good deal out of it. Also, they use Dermatologica. So far, service has been consistently excellent. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. They always greet you with a complimentary beverage upon arrival. Waiting time has vary from 5-15 minutes and all my visits are scheduled ahead. The Spa may look small from the outside but it's actually a lot bigger inside. read more

Kind of disappointed with the service I received here. I used a Groupon for a signature mani pedi. I did not receive what the description stated. I did not receive the scrub or the body butter with my manicure. Instead, I was told I can pay a fee to add body butter. My manicurist was nice but didn't do a great job and it wasn't at all relaxing. The pedicure was also underwhelming. The Spa also charges a 1 dollar fee to hold your appointment using your debit or credit card. Most places refund the fee once the service has been given. Their fee is non refundable. Even though the fee is only a dollar why am I being charged that when I didn't even use my card for the service. This place just seems money hungry and is not relaxing at all. The prices of the offerings are also unjustifiable. The owners are very smart though. They sure know how to get your money. read more
