We greatly appreciate the explanation with the appointment system and the willingness to get my hubs back on the schedule for the massage he signed up for. My hubs was hesitant to come back after his last session and especially after my review (he didn't know I was writing) but Elena & Jennifer helped him feel at ease of coming back and making it extremely flexible to rebook an appointment to come back in. Hubs went back to get the much needed deep pressure massage from Jennifer at The Spa Simply Skin. Both Elena and Jennifer were present to greet him. The ambiance of the room was serene as it was before. He keeps telling me about the nice Buddha in the massage room. Jennifer asked if the headrest area was ok was comfortable this time before proceeding. This time she asked about the massage pressure and if it was firm enough. She worked on getting his knots out which was greatly needed. She used a tool on his hands up/down his forearm that he said made him feel really good. He does repetitive work with his hands (handy electrician) and this helped relieve tension. I found this place on Yelp when I was trying to find a place that can do back facials. Initially I was surprised at how far out the appointment availability was, and after having my session with Elena it was easy to see why. Elena is friendly, professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. I always walk out feeling like a million bucks. She personally tests all her products and services. The setting is comfortable, quiet, and I love the warm foot wraps during the facials. I will also be trying microneedling, dermaplane, and chemical peel in the coming months as well. I came in here for a massage. I have neck and lower back pain. I did explain this to the therapist. The massage was really bad. The therapist kept applying lotion/ oil all over me. She did not release my knots or relax my muscle. I was just hoping for the session to end. The therapist I worked with has no clue of how to do a massage. What a lovely place to go for all your skincare needs. I booked a signature facial with Charlotte and she did spectacular. What a hidden gem in Folsom, I feel like I should have known about this place years ago. First and foremost, parking is EASY PEASY here. Private lot, no traffic and easy to find. Charlotte listened to all my requests and skincare needs. She asked appropriate questions, made me very comfortable and relaxed and made my skin feel amazing afterwards. I would definitely go back to her again. The space is very calming with lots of ample space for sitting, a zen-like atmosphere with very therapeutic music playing. There is yummy snacks, tea and water available before and after your appointment. The owner, Elena is also fabulous. My girlfriends have been going to Elena for years and trust all their skincare needs with her. I cannot wait to come back soon. As other yelpers have mentioned, the outside of the spa looks mundane but it is totally transformed once you open the door! My friend got me a gift certificate to here so I got a facial here. There are complimentary snacks and tea in the waiting room. I got changed into my robe and sandals and then got a foot bath before I got my facial. The massage beds are heated which felt so nice and isn't something that I've had before at spas. My face feels baby soft and break outs have subsided. My facial also included a head, arm, and leg. Now I just wish I added in a whole body massage! I didn't get this service but thought this info might be helpful for those interested in the eye zone treatment. The eye zone treatment results only lasts a day and is more of a temporary quick fix botox. read more

I'd never heard of this place until I received a gift certificate for it. I checked out the website and was impressed by the gift. The Restore Spa Package included a massage, facial, and catered lunch. I made my appointment. They e-mailed a menu from BoudinSF to choose my lunch from. The Spa Simply Skin is located across the street from Loehman's Plaza (same side) in a business park. I checked in with their receptionist and she asked my shoe size. I went into a room with complimentary Numi tea, water and treats, filled out some sheets about medical conditions and such.. The place decor is suiting for a spa.. The receptionist led me to lockers where I found one with my name on it. (Nice touch). They have you change into their robe and flip flops. I moved on to their "Zen Room" where someone sets you up with a wooden tray to soak your feet in until someone came to get you for whichever service. My appointment was at 10am and I got a facial first, went back to the Zen Room until the massage therapist came to get me and she led me to another room for the massage. After that, I went into the room with the snacks and tea where the receptionist brought a tray with the lunch I picked from the menu they had emailed.. It was set on a plate and that, too, was a nice touch since I had low expectations of a boxed lunch with to-go plastic utensils and so on.. Great place to spend a couple hours. Great gift. After years of contemplating a visit at The Spa Simply Skin I finally made it in today. As soon as I walked in I was SMH to myself thinking, "WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG?" The spa has an Asian Zen type motif, that is very spa like and relaxing. Running water fountains, separate front desk, private rooms, serenity room with natural flavored water, snacks, lots of pillows on plush seating. I was quickly escorted back to a private waiting room, and then escorted to the locker/dressing room where I was given a locker with a personalized name tag, and I appreciated the jewelry box to keep my items separate from my clothing. I quickly put on my robe, and flip flops. I was taken to the serenity room and my feet were placed in a warm water soak. After a few minutes Gretchen arrived and dried my feet off and escorted me back to the facial room. The bed was perfectly heated and very comfortable with soft sheets and warm blankets. Even better the room was very peaceful, dimly lighted, pleasant music playing in the back ground. The facial was the usual with cleansing, extracts, exfoliating, scrubbing, a mask, and of course lots of moisturizing and massaging. So relaxing that I think I actually heard myself snoring! Total bliss!! Gretchen quietly worked her magic and did not miss a beat. To top off my excellent service I was pleasantly surprised that I was treated to a generous 25% discount for checking in on Yelp! I left the spa make up free however my skin is simply glowing. Although a little pricy for my budget on a regular basis I will definitely be back in a month for their Sunday special of a discounted second service. read more

This is a nice little cozy spa that's conveniently close to home. I appreciated the hot green tea and foot soak prior to the session. I also thought it was a nice touch that they put your name on your locker where you stash your belongings during your massage - post massage it's easy to forget which locker was yours! If you are seeking a legitimate deep tissue massage, go see Jennifer. I went in on a Sunday needing some rehab on my left shoulder girdle. Jennifer knocked if out of the ballpark and I left feeling GREAT! She's also a great conversationalist if you care to strike up a conversation at any point during your massage. I received a SpaFinder gift certificate, so I went online to look at the locations near me. I yelped all of them. Yes, I yelped 20+ spas. I decided on Simply Skin because they had solid ratings and had a spa special going on. A minor blimp I encountered was when I booked the appointment. I wanted to confirm their June spa special deal. The receptionist had no idea what I was talking about. I was a bit irritated. I read what was online to her and she had to check their website to confirm. When I arrived, I wasn't sure if I was at the right place because the outside looks like a doctor's office. If you have trouble finding it, they are located next to Loehmann's Plaza on the same side of the street. Once inside, the receptionist lead me to their small yet comfy lounge where I filled out a form. I was then led to my locker/changing area. The locker was personalized with my name- a nice touch. I had a hard time closing the curtain in the changing area, so I quickly changed into the slippers and robe they provided. I went to another room for a foot soak before my massage therapist took me to one of the private rooms for the Body Express. Body Express ($115)- A half hour massage and the Body Glow. I don't know how people are able to fall asleep when they get massages because I find them a bit painful, but in a good way. The Body Glow begins with a dry brushing followed with sea salt, which are combined to exfoliate and smooth your skin. Warm towels are used to wipe the sea salt off. It finishes with a body hydrating cream applied to your entire body. (The sea salt and body hydrating cream are both Dermalogica products.) I enjoyed every minute of it! I'm going to try to attempt to do this at home for myself. Overall I had a great experience here! The services are a bit pricy. I will need to periodically check online to see what deals they are offering, so I can come back. read more

I had a 60 minute massage here and it was great. The place was very relaxing, I liked the selection of Numi teas and the peanut butter filled pretzels in the waiting room. The foot soak was nice, but being as short as I am, it's not the most comfortable seating, I can't rest my back against the wall/pillows and have my feet in the tub. It happens when I get pedicures too. :( I like how they give you a little locker to place you belonging with a little box with the key. That was really nice. I would definitely come back.
