This place is not worth what they charge whatsoever, on top of that they didn't deliver on the basics. Went there 3 times and their basic package was around $100-120 which ended up coming out to 150 or more. All they did was call after drop off and talk about shaving the entire dog because of his "matted" hair. EVERY time. When we take great care to make sure that's not the case. On top of that- they never plucked his ear hair. Which was included in the "basic" package. My dog ended up with a horrible ear infection which cost us money at the vet and the vet said his ears were never plucked in his life. If you want a basic shave for $140 bucks go for it. We found our dog's second home! I trust Carrie and her team with my dog's life and Carrie has personally helped my dog's skin and gut issues. It was a journey but we stuck through it! She is very knowledgeable about breeds and breed specific foods. The Spaw is very clean, parking is easy, it is an open play floor so the dogs are free to mingle, and the dog's playroom is always being sanitized. They groom at location as well! I've been bringing my Pomeranians here for the past few years and can honestly say they do the best job. Jenn is very meticulous and is careful not to cut my pom's hair too short lest it doesn't grow back (we like the boo haircut). I've been to other groomers that have ruined my dogs coat but I always feel at ease and trust the experience of the Spaw staff. My only gripe is the price - $99+ for a full body groom which is about $20 higher than it was a year or two ago. But it's worth it anyway. read more

We brush our poms every day with long and short combs, but even with full grooms every couple months, we end up paying $10-20 each time in extra de-matting costs. I certainly understand raising prices in response to inflation and charging for extra work (seems like demand for their services is off the charts given we have to schedule appointments 2 months out), but the fees here have gotten out of control. My oldest daughter who is a vet tech said they refer a lot of business here, so we had to give them a try. The Spaw is located in an industrial center and was fairly easy to find. Upon entrance we saw 2 clients getting checked in and out. The staff was very friendly, and we could tell they treated their animals well because both dogs were wagging their tails and interacting with the staff. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember the name of the gal that checked us in. I do remember she said she loves the terrier/shih tzu mix. :) Once Cooper was checked in he went to play time with dogs of the same size. They don't crate the dogs, which is wonderful. It was his first time with that many friends and he was a little scared...maybe a lot. We watched him from the big tv they have in the lobby. He kept running away from all the cute pups. It was like dropping your kid off at their first day of school! Once we saw he was getting comfortable we left. We got a call roughly 3 hours later saying he was done and could stay and play for 1.5 hours. I asked how he did and thankfully he did just fine. The bill came to $71.00, which is higher than Petsmart, but he isn't crated, he has playtime with his friends, and he isn't stressed out. Worth every penny. We've found our furever groomer! I know I have reviewed The Spaw many times but felt the need to do it again. This little girl is the walking wounded. Allergic to everything, has Congestive heart failure, and always has skin infections. When she is home she cries a lot because she can't seem to get comfortable. But when I pick her up from The Spaw I have to carry her out the door because she wants to stay! She loves it there. This isn't just a place where she gets groomed or boarded. This is a place where she is surrounded by people who truly love dogs.(cats too!) Carrie owns The Spaw and has so much knowledge about dogs. We left our 5 month old kitten at The Spaw over Thanksgiving break (for a full week) and could not have been happier! First of all, they were more than happy to let me come tour the Spaw before we left Cassie there (the first place I reserved wouldn't even let me come and look at the place where she would stay for a week! I don't think so! I can't stand rules that make ZERO sense so I canceled that rez.) When I went initially to The Spaw, Carrie (the owner) made a point of being there because she knew I was coming in. Both she and Elizabeth (the resident kitty sitter) were SO kind and comforting as this was the first real length of time I was going to be leaving her. I think Carrie and I were chatting for an hour! When we dropped Cassie off, Elizabeth let me and my daughter stay as long as we needed to to ensure that our kitten felt safe and secure...and to let us say our goodbye for the week. I swear I felt like I was dropping my daughter off at kindergarten again for the first time! LOL The area where the kitties stay is completely separate from the dogs which is so nice. There is 'spa' music playing and the rooms are quite large with lots of levels and placed for them to sleep and hangout. Scratching posts, etc. And the whole door is basically glass so it's not like they are confined to a cage. They have SO much room! And then during the day they are let out (one kitty family at a time) and the opposite wall is full of varying height wood shelves for the cats to walk/jump/play on! I wasn't sure Cassie would ever want to come home after being here! I think my favorite part was the fact that Carrie goes live on The Spaw FB page almost daily. She shows you your pet so you can literally see them live on FB. SO reassuring to see Cassie happy and playing! I enjoyed her storytelling on the live videos as well.... she always had an interesting story to share about animals! All of the staff that I encountered the 3 times that I went (tour, drop off and pick up) were super pleasant (I am mentioning this because some reviews said otherwise.) Everyone was awesome! Anyway, I can't speak to the services since we didn't do any BUT if you need to board your kitten, this is the place!! We will for sure be using The Spaw frequently as we do tend to vacation a lot. WOW!!!!! I cannot say enough about this place!!!! My 2 year old maltipoo has been here 3 times now and every time I pick her up, I am SO impressed!!! We have been to so many groomers who cut her hair way too short and she looks like a completely different dog. But The Spaw does an AMAZING job of giving her an beautiful fresh cut and keeping her sweet teddy bear face. Most recently, we accidentally let Olive's hair get a little too long and tangled and I thought FOR SURE they would have to shave her bare, but once again, they gave her THE PERFECT cut and they were able to get rid of all her tangles. I think I found my new dog boarding/ daycare center. I used to go to another local doggy daycare and they are great! The center got popular and there were too many dogs so I decided to find another place (not crowded by any means- just wanted a smaller number of dogs). I found the Spaw on Yelp, called them, and attended the mandatory orientation. I personally thought an orientation just meant a few minutes to tour the area. It was actually quite a long presentation by the owner, Carrie. I personally knew this was the right place with 1. How long the orientation was (definitely an impatient person would not attend or stay for the entire duration- this weeds out potential short-fused dog owners *not saying this is always true, but there can be some translation of this. And you know dogs' temperaments often mirror their owners*) and 2. Carrie really has her logistics down to a T. I can tell she is a Type A personality like me. With how she limits the number of pets and also the weight, I also know that she is proficient in running a successful business- not focusing on growing too fast, which is a detriment to many small businesses. Needless to say, if an owner spends hours to orient new clients, this says a lot. Obviously there is a high client-base and this place has been running for over 2 decades from the original owner so things must be running smoothly. Will update after first board/ daycare/ meet and greet. Thought I'd leave a good initial impression review. read more

My review is only for doggie daycare, I don't have experience with their grooming: Everyone who works here is amazing!! I used to work in Tustin pre-pandemic and would sometimes need to drop my furbaby off while at work. I just used them again twice last week during an emergency. We hadn't been back since 2020. But they were just as helpful and wonderful as I remembered! I even drive from Menifee to Tustin just to use their daycare again My pup has bad separation anxiety but she does great here. I like that I can see her on the camera when I first drop her off and during 5-7pm online. She is always exhausted after a day here, which is good to get all that energy out. Thank you!! read more

THEY LITERALLY KILLED MY DOG!! Stay away from new dog washer JADA she full throttle sprayed my dog from 3 feet away so she would not get wet! She put lead around my Luci's neck when the red collar clearly said NOT to!! I have the video to prove it!!! She stressed my Luci out so bad that she literally had a stroke there at the salon and they failed to call me. When she was picked up afterwards one of her paws was paralyzed. Carrie, the owner, told me "it was a really busy day we didn't notice!!" Luci died less than an hour after picking her up from the salon. My beautiful Luci was my service dog for 14 out of her 16 years. She was the sweetest and easiest dog to groom. There was NO REASON for my dog to be treated this way!!! SHAME ON YOU JADA FOR ABUSING MY DOG AND BEING MORE CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR HAIR GETTING WET THAN TOUCHING MY DOG WHILE WETTING HER DOWN! FIND ANOTHER JOB!! Let me start by saying that my dog Marvin is super loving and wants to be your best friend, with that being said he is not a fan of the groomers. After having been called to immediately pick Marvin up after only a few minutes at 4 separate grooming facilities on 4 separate occasions (I believe they tried their best), I decided I would take him to the vet to be put under for a groom... I hated the idea but at that point his hair was so matted it was my only option... throw on everything else the vet claimed he needed I left with an over $700 groom for Marvin. Naturally, I was not to keen on getting him groomed frequently at that price not to mention that putting any dog under without it being absolutely necessary is well... unnecessary. My dad told me to try out The Spaw, he takes his two dogs there and I resisted because his two dogs are not crazy like Marvin can be. I finally committed and made an appointment for early Saturday Morning. I brought him in with COMPLETE apprehension and was greeted by Sonia (or Sonja sorry!). She was very pleasant and put me right at ease. I explained Marvin is super difficult and she sent me on my way and said she would call me if she needed me. Anxiously, I waited by my phone expecting a call any minute telling me to pick him up, a little over two hours later I got a call my first words were... "is everything alright?" haha and the lady on the phone said I can pick up Marvin. Just to be sure I asked her if his grooming was actually complete or I just had to come get him, she assured me it was complete. I went to pick him up and Sonia brought Marvin out and he looked so cute! I was so happy I LOVE this place... no more $700 grooms for Marvin... special shout out to Gwen who is the best! read more

Slaw took such great care of of pregnant foster kitty during the recent wildfire evacuations. We weren't sure how close she was to giving birth and r how long we would need to be away from home so we were hesitant to bring her to the hotel with us. Pregnant mama was also going through a skittish time so we needed a place that was caring and attentive. I cannot say enough how amazing everyone here was. Their rooms for cats are clean and nicely appointed. They also have an area where kitties can go out to play with toys during their stay. Thank you so much!! You were a lifesaver! I have been going to The Spaw for years for grooming and have developed a relationship with Carrie and her amazing staff. Ben has had his fair share of issues - ear infections, paw infections (yeast and bacterial), blepharitis, scratched cornea and throughout this time, I have always taken him to The Spaw. We tried every medication under the sun to treat his infections and allergies and most with modest improvement for a short time, always leading back to a flare that was harder to control than the last. On the most recent ear infection, our vet did a cytology and was able to see the bacteria in his ears were the more resistant to antibiotics. We finally got to a pretty good place with traditional medication, no more red eyes, no more ear infections, but the itchy paws and underbelly persisted. On our most recent grooming session, Carrie noticed that Ben's toenails had grown quite a bit of yeast and that if we were willing, she could try to help. I agreed knowing that she only had the best intentions to help Ben. He stayed about 10 days and each day I dropped off his sister, Bailey, to be with him and picked her up at the end of the day and talked to Carrie or her staff about Ben's progress. While he was there, he was given so much TLC, between sulfur lime dips (he hated), ozone baths (didn't love), and cuddles (loved) and made so much progress in 10 days. They also helped to change his diet, something that I have been trying to do for a long time; but elimination diets are expensive and time consuming. Carrie was able to narrow it down to a healthy diet that Ben could eat and was manageable for me (young kids and working full time) and his sister, Bailey, enjoys the upgrades too! He has been home a couple months ago since his retreat, and he has been so much better, belly is under control, itchy paws are under control, some occasional flares that we think are environmental, but we just wash his feet after going outside.
