WOULD NOT RECOMMEND‼‼‼‼‼OUR BABY BEAR'S INJURED VET PERFORMED A NAIL CUT BACK SURGERY. RUDE OWNER. On Friday, November 12th Morning: Dropped Bear off at 9:00. Evening: Picked Bear up at 5:30. Bear was at the SPAW for grooming the entire day, and he was later found to be injured. We sent Carrie the first email on Friday night. On Saturday, November 13th Morning: No email reply from SPAW. So we called the SPAW in the morning, and the front desk employee told us, "Carrie would be replying to us soon." We asked how soon does she know an estimated time? The employee said after the meeting. And it was 10:14 AM. Afternoon: Still no reply from Carrie or the SPAW; we are on our way to get food, so we think we might drop by. We waited in the store for Carrie. When she came out, she had an attitude toward us and claimed we have a lawyer, and we threatened her in the first email. We then tried to tell her we never said we would go to court or we had a lawyer; we are just keeping everything in writing just in case for court purposes". The reason why I am telling her that is because I called a friend of mine from Columbia University Friday evening, and she suggested we keep everything in writing, so we have proof." So basically, this is what I told Carrie. Nevertheless, she was furious all of a sudden, and she refused to talk to us; then Carrie called the police on us FIRST. My boyfriend saw Carrie call the police, and then he called the police too. We still don't know why she was so furious and said we harassed her to you and threatened her in the first email. We never did. All of the above mentioned is true. We even have Tustin's Police Case Number#21-11130068 so police officers who came on Saturday can also tell all of you what exactly happened. In addition, if needed, we can also attached our first email to all of you so you guys can check: Who actually called the police first and what her reaction was; Whether we threatened her in the first email or not - we don't understand why she is acting like this and is very aggressive like we did something wrong; It is Carrie, who told the police that she thinks this is a civil case and she told the police her lawyer would contact us. On Sunday, November 14th Afternoon: Since she told the police she would let us know the lawyer's situation yesterday, we called the store on Sunday to ask for an estimated reply date. Then her front desk employee told us that Carrie was in consultation and would reply to our email very, very soon. That's why we called the second time on Sunday and asked if we have not yet received a reply from Carrie. We literally don't understand why her employees keep telling us Carrie would reply to our email the same day every day since Saturday morning but never did. Please see the attached for our first email to her (the one she claimed we threatened her but we did not) and some of customers' complaints about her and her business, the SPAW. ‼We feel like this is not her first time doing this whole process because she is very smooth and knows what to say and do. We have been a customer since 2019 and have been sending our dogs to her place multiple times. We trusted her. We don't know why she's acting like this We are very concerned about how she conducts business. If you could see Google or Yelp reviews, this is not her first time. We are not concerned just for us but her future customers as well. UPDATE On Tuesday, November 16th Owner's lawyer emailed us say we harrassed her On Wednesday, November 17th Bear's dew claw was bleeding again On Friday, November 19th Bear had a nail cut back surgery and is in pain. We never heard back from the owner, Carrie, nor her lawyer every again. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD. We are dealing with a very manipulative and rude owner All we wanted from this is our vet bills paid, Bear's grooming fee reimbursed, and a formal apology. -------------------- We have also attached last 2 pics about what the SPAW owner's lawyer sent us VS what we told her. We don't understand why she told her lawyer untrue stuffs. We are still not represented by a lawyer at this time. MAYBE she is doing this because she doesn't want other people to find out. The owner may think this can SILENCE us so her business won't be affected. Nov.23: OWNER & her lawyer claim we posted false & defamatory statements so they refuse to compensate any of the money! And they blames us for bringing Bear there. Carrie, why is it so hard to say "I'm sorry"? Right, because you cannot get your business affected and you value money instead of your clients and animals. I came here after hearing multiple people recommend this place but I was not very impressed and probably wouldn't go back. I came in for a nail cut for my dog. There were two workers at the front. One was not very friendly but the other one was ok. The place felt kind of messy and not very welcoming but that's okay, don't really care too much about that. They took my dog pretty quickly but very shortly after you can hear him scream. He's a Shiba so this can be kind of normal but he usually gives up after the first few cuts, NOT at this place. The whole time I could hear him scream. I'm not sure what's going on, everything is happening behind closed doors and no cameras to show the cutting, so that didn't help ease my worries. After about 5-7 min of my dog screaming, a worker finally comes out with him and she gave my dog to me and did not say one word and kind of felt like she was silently telling me I have a bad dog. It was the first time I decided not to tip. Overall everything was below average or average at best. Place does not feel particularly clean it or welcoming, workers are not particularly friendly or overly helpful, and most of all the service itself was pretty bad. My dog does scream but usually he gives up and goes silent pretty quick. The fact that he screamed the whole time makes me think it was very rushed and there was zero effort to calm down my dog. Up until now I've never written a review on Yelp. I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience at The Spaw, though, that I wanted to make sure the team (especially Elizabeth) received all the appreciation and gratitude possible. Two weeks ago my girlfriend and I took in a stray cat that had come into our neighborhood. They were severely underweight, covered in all kinds of scratches, along with dirt and fleas, but absolutely sweet as can be. After getting them cleared of major viruses (esp. rabies) and vaccinated, we wanted them to get washed and cleared of any remaining fleas. We had a lot of anxiety about taking them somewhere. We wanted to make sure that they'd be cared for by folks with good experience, in a non-stressful environment. I cannot overstate how much The Spaw exceeded our wildest expectations. I primarily interacted with Elizabeth, and I can't imagine anyone ever doing a better job than what she did. Not only did she make a night and day difference in how our cat looked and felt by doing a flea bath, but she was just a genuinely kind and thoughtful person. Even though it turns out our cat really, *really* does not like being washed, she did an amazing job and we're forever thankful. If you're in the same position that I was, scrolling through countless Yelp pages and worried about where to bring your animal companion, I wholeheartedly recommend going to The Spaw. Omg, the sweetest gals works there and did a wonderful job on my parent's dog who was in dire need of a groom! He came out just so cute after. Also, they have the best selections of natural, heathy (hard to find) foods for your pets. Stuff that you can never find at petco or whatever. Whitney/ Sonia were helpful finding me something for my picky dog. Thank you ladies for your awesome customer service. Booked an appointment for a flea dip weeks in advance, the business called me about two hours before my appointment to inform me that they were too busy for the flea dip that day and whoever scheduled me should have scheduled me for 3pm instead of 1pm. First and foremost, I am a crazy dog mom. My dog is my fur baby and I only want the best for her because why true dog mom doesn't? So when I say I love taking my fur baby to the The Spaw just as much as she loves coming here, you know this place is awesome. They provide grooming and daycare which is perfect because when you book a grooming appointment your dog can have a play day while they wait! I have a Miniature Australian Shepherd and I have tried taking her to several places to get a trim and no one has done it better than The Spaw. We always ask for a bath and tightline trim and the staff is always so great to go over exactly what we want each time. They keep a record of each dog and what was previously done to keep things consistent so she turns out perfect every time! read more

Huge shoutout to our favorite grooming salon!! My poor Furbabies were so matted from all their play biting. We are SO HAPPY we found this place. We have used them a couple of times so far and the staff are amazing, friendly, caring, and understanding. The cat facility is awesome and not a cage in sight. Each cat gets their own mini room with a full length window n panel on the door, so they feel safe but can see what's going on. This place is absolutely amazing and has been such a game changer for our puppy! We decided to put him here for daycare a few days a week so he wouldn't be home alone and he absolutely loves it!!!!! Not only has it socialized him but they are so great with him and its so convenient because you can get your puppy groomed too while he's there for the day and they do such a great job!! I found this spot on Yelp and what drew me in were the experiences people had with their anxious dogs. My dog is the definition of an anxious dog and I had the best experience filled with knowledge. Today was Nico's first time here. I found them via Yelp as I was searching for a place close to my work. Brisa was very helpful and gave me some nutrition advise as I was in need of puppy food. So far no diarrhea for our pup. She gave me a tour of the place; it is a bit small of a play area and facility. However, It will do the trick to have your pup mingle with other friendly dogs while you need some time. They were kind enough to honor the Yelp offer along with another compliment which was nice. One thing I wished for but not a must was a webcam ability. It's a preference as I'm use to the other facilities have the availability to see your pup while you're away. I debated about doing this review as I no longer have my dog. I lost my sweet Cee Cee to old age and illness earlier this year. I do plan to get another rescue dog in the future, and I will only take that dog to The Spaw for grooming, daycare and boarding. My Cee Cee was a short coated dog that didn't need hair cuts. But when she came in for baths or full clean ups, she left without a flea on her, no redness or itching, sweet smelling breath and nails buffed and shortened to perfection. Cee Cee wasn't a big fan of any of these procedures, but The Spaw staff took their time with her, went slow and gave her with lots of attention. Cee Cee thought of everyone at The Spaw as her extra mommies and daddies. When you have a group of people who treat your dog so well that even being away from home, baths, teeth brushing and nail trimming doesn't take away from your pet's happiness, that's saying something. Cee Cee would run to the back rooms, put her paws up on the first person she could find and let them know to commence spoiling her!!! To the people of The Spaw I say, "Thank you for never putting Cee Cee in a cage, for indulging her occasional diva behavior, for making her clean and sweet smelling, for spoiling her, for loving her and for giving me peace of mind when I dropped her off and went about my day. I've taken my old boy Charlie to the Spaw many times. We tried a few places before this and he always came back traumatized and wasn't himself for a few days afterwards. After each trip to the Spaw however, my boy is as joyful as ever once he's back in my car. They're always prompt and keep their word on the timing of grooms (Charlie's about 20lbs and he takes 2-3 hours to bathe and groom). After his groom, he gets to hang out with a few friends in the common areas instead of by himself in a cage and he looks and smells great each time. They've gotten really good at what we like and his cut gets closer to what we want with each visit. Highly recommend! read more

I took my pup kahuna here for the first time today and I'm not sure if I got the right dog back. All joking aside, My normally insane pupper came back calm and happy after his trip to the spaw. I used to take my dog to the local Pet Smart groomer but it was always hit or miss with them - sometimes my dog would come back looking like a teddy bear, and sometimes he'd come back looking like a rat! I have been coming here for over 6 years and have spent thousands of dollars here between grooming, day care and boarding. Typically, I am very pleased with my experiences. The grooming can be Inconsistent at times, but overall I'm happy. This shop is about 12 miles away from me, but with traffic it is not ideal, but have continued to go because finding a good groomer can be hard. I'm Sad to say that after 6 years hear, I had the most horrible experience. I dropped my 3lb toy poodle off to be groomed at 11:30. I had 2 funerals to attend so I brought my other dog for day care. Around 230, I received a message that my dog was very matted and they were going to have to cut her very short and if I had any questions to call them back. I knew she was matted and this has happened many times, so I had no questions. They close at 6pm, I arrived at 540 to pick them up. When I arrived the girl said, did you get our call? I said, yes I did. She had this funny look on her face and said, what would you like to do? I said, what do you mean? She says, we have been waiting for you to call back. I said, no the message very clearly said what you were going to do and to call back if I had questions. Needless, to say they did not groom my dog. It is now almost 6pm, she had been there since 1130. My schedule doesn't allow me to drive to Tustin and back on a whim. The girl told me to talk to Carrie, the owner. She was very matter a fact and said I'm sure you can understand that we just can't cut a dogs hair short with your permission. I said, I can understand that, but the message clearly says you ARE going to cut her shorter. She says, we see can do it now. I said, you close in ten minutes and I have to be somewhere in 30minutes. The more upsetting part is when they brought her to me, they attempted to cut her, so she now is not groomed, but has chunks of fur missing in several spots. At this point, I was so upset. Carrie tried to say she would fix it, but didn't understand that my schedule doesn't allow for it. The girl said, well we will Just charge you for day care for your other dog. I said, I am not paying. I just spent close to $400 last week on boarding and grooming. I went to my car to get my phone to listen to the message again to see if I misheard the message. Sure enough, I had not. I went back In to let Carrie hear the message, as I walked in she was talking to another customer about me. Which infuriated me even more. I let her hear the message and she says, I get it , you're right and I'm trying to fix it, but you won't let me. Due to my schedule and plans, I could not leave her there to be finished. She doesn't like to be boarded. They are closed onSunday. There aren't many options to fix this. She didn't offer to groom her for free, she acted as if I was the difficult one. Extremely upsetting when I know how important customer service is as I live and breathe it everyday. A phone call apologizing and some compassion would have gone a long way. I've been a very loyal customer and have spent a ton of money there. Maybe they don't realize that it's the customers that pay their bills. Now I have a dog who not only isn't groomed, she has patches of missing fur. I'd love to think they will make this right, but I won't hold my breath. read more

5 Stars for the groomers because they did an excellent job with our 10 month old labradoodle! If you can believe the before & after pics, she looked like a different puppy when they were finished with her! Unfortunately we did not keep up with her hair brushing like we should have and she had some pretty mangled mats/ knots in her fur. I went to another groomer originally who said she couldn't shave her because the mats were too close to the skin... but it wasn't too much for The Spaw to handle! My puppy was happy when I picked her up and there were no cuts on her at all.
