I went into the store because who doesn't like tea and spices. I specifically wanted a tea for night time to help me sleep. The man who was helping me was very friendly and he suggested these two different types of teas. They were a little bit pricey for such a small package but he assured me that I would get at least 4 -6 cups of tea out of each teaspoon or tablespoon. I also bought their mesh ball that you put the looseleaf tea in while at steeps which also helps with measuring. I get home and I try a Beautyrest tea. I liked the flavor of it, although there is something strong in there that I can't quite point the finger at that makes it unique and they have yet to figure out if this is in a good way or a bad way I made one cup of tea. And when I say one cup of tea I'm talking an average size coffee cup. And I left the loose tea in the mesh ball and put on a paper towel on my counter. The next time I went to go make a cup of tea I use the exact same tea that was left over in the ball based on the fact that the salesman told me I should be able to get 4 to 6 cups. My second cup of tea was so weak that it wasn't even worth drinking. I did buy another tea while I was there and I will try to make another cup of tea using the other tea however based on my experience you only get one cup of tea per heaping tablespoon and therefore you will not get anywhere near the amount of tea per bag that they state. read more

Seriously, you'll be sure to find both teas and spices you haven't seen in years or better yet ever even heard of. Unfortunately my bad review comes just of the vibes my family felt in here. They have samples of different things and off course when in any store even when you're watching your kids like a hawk sometimes they're so quick and help them selves to an extra sample which ok sorry my sons each took 2 crackers instead of one. But both the man and woman who were working here flew over and tried to lecture not only my 7 year old but my 3 year old. Thanks, as a parent I got it. It's a learning experiencing though we all know kids can be greedy and as I parent I'll deal with that. But to seriously try to lecture my child about samples. Shame on you. I bought my tea to shut them up and left. Because i love it so much, I'm rarely disappointed in tea shops in general.... and this one was no exception. My sistah wanted some tea. My mum wanted some spices. Lucky for them I know my way around Yelp.. and so we found ourselves in the best of both worlds while walking through the doors of the Spice and Tea Exchange! I believe it was a husband/wife-duo running the place. As we walked in, mum went for the spices and the dude came up to help. Every spice and spice mix is in a large display jar to open and sniff (so are the teas). Mum probably would've gone through opening every jar in the store (which is what I ended up doing with the teas), but since they were closing soon she just told the dude what she was looking for and he pointed us in the right direction. She settled on a custom spice mix of a Spicy Thai Curry While mum was spicing it up I made a beeline for the teas! Two on sample, one cold (mystic dragon) and one hot (jade cloud), with house made simple syrups to add in as you please. Of course I tried them both. While doing so the lady of the store approached. She was super knowledgeable on every tea in the shop... opening the jars, telling me exactly what was in the mix, explaining the region it was grown in, etc. I ended up going with The Gypsy Hippie (minty, floral, herbal tea), Earl Grey Creme (has some kind of petals in it), and Jade Cloud (just a good Chinese green) and I can't wait to get back and try them all. They also had all sorts of tea accessories (pots, cups, strainers, diffuser) as well as some small cooking utensils and stuff to go with the spices. The couple who owns this shop are the sweetest people I have ever met! I have been coming here since I moved to Savannah. We had a store with the same name in the town I left so I have so happy to hear they had one here. The second you walk in someone is greeting you and telling you the history about the store (It's the oldest one in the state) They also let you know you can pick up any jar and smell anything you would like. (Which during Covid I thought that wasn't all that safe but oh well) The store is laid out nicely. It isn't too overwhelming and each section is well organized. Sometimes if it gets a little too crowded you might start bumping into things but other than that it's perfect. I love coming back for each season and seeing the new teas they have. I came back during the fall and tried their special tea they had and it is to this day still my favorite tea I have ever had! read more

These spices are crazy good, and an amazing variety as well. All of the spices are made by the owners. And they'll tell you, there's no filler in there, so the spices are more robust and effective. Whatever you get, use sparingly, because a little will go a long way. We got some bbq spices and some mixed herb spices for when we get home and back to cooking. Be careful, you will want to take a lot of their products home...so it's a good caution, haha. read more

I've found this little store while walking around town. And I'm so glad, I went in. I guess I've spend an hour there and of course bought some cinnamon, some sriracha powder and some pepper. It was so inspiring to talk to the owner that I'm looking forward to get home to try my new treasures. I'm more than willing to spend the money on good products. I can't shop anywhere without finding a couple of kitchen/cooking stores to explore, and luckily Savannah delivered. The Spice and Tea Exchange is a store specializing in spices and teas, no surprise there. They also have a variety of different (flavored) salts and sugars which is neat. Big jars line the shelves and walls of this store. You are encouraged to pick them up and smell their products, if this didn't come naturally already to you. A description of ingredients and its use are nearby, which always comes in handy when determining what to use them for. Inspiration doesn't always show up, and a little bit of help never hurts. I ended up getting some fish blackening spices which I am excited to start using. From the other end of the store we purchased a blueberry black tea. If this ends up tasting only half as good as it smells, it will be killer. Coincidentally I found small pop ups of this store at Disney a couple of days after my visit to Savannah. I am not sure if it is a chain, but it has the set up to be one and it would probably do well. read more

My family saw "Tea" and knew we had to stop in, and what was supposed to be a quick perusal turned into a great shopping experience! We were greeted by a friendly staff member who explained how to go about smelling the spice blends and teas as well as pointing out the samples in the back. She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the products, and when she notices my camera, she even gave me some tips on locations where I could snap some views of the Savannah skyline. The atmosphere of the store is very warm and inviting. I felt like I was in a little medieval forest cottage. There were so many spices and teas to experience as well as honeys and sugar blends. They even have suggested and pre packages blends for various cooking needs. I love tea and thought I had tried them all, but they had some very delicious house blends I had to try like Victorian Earl Grey and Chocolate Peppermint. This store is awesome! I'm a big tea snob and this place had all kinds that I never heard of. I only drink loose leaf and this was the bulk of what they had. My family ended up get three different bags of tea to take home with us. The store also has a variety of flavored salt, spices, and rubs as well which all looked really good. The woman running the store seemed to be very passionate about her business and was not shy at all to explain some details about the products and how certain tea sets work. She was really helpful. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that there was a sign that if you bought a bag of loose leaf tea, you would also receive a free "sip-n-go" for making iced tea on the go. I never asked about it when purchasing the tea and that's probably my fault I didn't not receive one but I wasn't sure if the sign was outdated or maybe have expired. What an amazing selection of spices and teas! I discovered this shop while browsing shops on Broughton, and since I'm a fan of loose leaf tea I just knew I had to stop in. I stocked up on 3 flavors of loose leaf tea (1 for $4.89 or 3 for $12.95), as well as 2 spice blends (one for desserts, another for Pirates). They also offer a huge variety of single spices, herbs and salts, many not easily found in your average grocery stores. The guy working in the shop was nice and helpful and even mentioned that he heard the company was opening a location near Nashville. I hope he's not teasing, because so far their website only lists one in Gatlinburg, about 3 hours away from Nashville. read more

This is one of my favorite tea shops that I've been to. They have a wide selection of premium teas. They also have tea accessories. In addition to tea, they have spices, salts, and coffee brewing accessories. You have to buy most of their products in pre-packaged bags. They are reasonably priced because they are specialty teas.
