I got great prices on everything I purchased. For everyone complaining that the owner won't match eBay prices .... This isn't home Depot! Do you message every seller on eBay that doesn't have a card for sale at what you consider a fair comp and complain to them? First of all a brick and mortar card shop has wayyyy more overhead than your average eBay seller. That being said, the atmosphere on eBay, especially with modern stuff, is to sell it as fast as possible, which usually means a lower price. Card shops aren't always in a rush to dump their stuff at a lower price. These guys have been around for decades and know the importance of being patient to maximize the return on their investments. Comps especially on newer cards literally change every week, especially if it's during the season, so of I owned a shop I wouldn't be basing my asking prices strictly from eBay comps. I've got no loyalty to the owner and I'm sure he doesn't even remember me because it's been so long, but leaving a less than favorable review over not matching an eBay price is ridiculous. That actually impacts his business negatively, and I can assure everyone that the dozen times I've made the trip to sports heroes,I was treated with great. The owner wasn't pushy, him and his son were sorting a box of vintage behind the counter or just doing their own thing. I spent time browsing through the off grade boxes they had at the center of the store ,( not certain if they're still there) they weren't looking over my shoulders. Even got into small talk on several occasions about cards and my Yankees. I have been a collector for 37 years now, and I would absolutely recommend this shop to anyone. Hope to be back soon!

Long story short, I was looking for a pair of Carolina Boots, for which they are a dealer for. They didn't have the particular ones I was looking for in stock, so I was offered the ability to try on other boots of that brand in hopes to find my size. Which we did (not the same model). I was then told that they could order them, I said great! Boots come in, I take them home and put them on. Close fit, but not quite right. Especially for something like boots that you're going to be wearing all the time. So a few days later I swing back by the store and ask if I could exchange them for a different size (still new in the box, tags, wrappers, didn't even lace them all the way). I was told albeit politely, that they cannot exchange or return them because they were "special order".... I'm sorry.. what?? Special order? You sell Carolina Boots..? Mind you, NONE OF THAT was mentioned prior to me agreeing to order them, or even when I took delivery of them. Politely told to kick rocks (pun intended). Any other shoe outlet would gladly either exchange and quite honestly except a return. Any local name brand store front, and definitely an online shop. This is one of the reasons why local stores go out of business sadly. Poor service. Because now I have a really really nice pair of boots that don't fit. In closing: if your policy is NO EXCHANGE/RETURN on "ordered" shoes, you need to disclose that before hand. ZERO excuses. Lazy and quite honestly it's unprofessional.
