I ordered a plain latte, hot, made with unsweetened almond milk, and a slice of lemon poppyseed coffee cake. I relaxed into the depths of a velvet arm chair while my latte was crafted. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and prompt. My latte was perfect! The lemon poppyseed coffee cake was moist with a fine crumb and enough to share nibbles with my Chihuahua. I will definitely be back when in the area! The parking is on street as can score a space. The seating is plentiful with arrangements for both singles, doubles, and larger groups. The shop is welcoming for young ones too! I definitely would have hung out here when our young person was little!

Several groups were in house when we arrived: friends visiting, a couple, a young woman and her sleeping infant, a remote worker. So it's clearly a spot the locals enjoy. Their menu includes espresso, drip coffees and teas (hot or cold) and a variety of coffee and tea drinks and syrups. At the time of our visit, late on a Monday morning, the pastry on offer included two buns (cinnamon?), and several donuts. I understand from the barista they source the donuts from Brother's donuts in Franklin and are the "Best in the State". The barista was very personable and pleasant during our quick chat. She served up the donut I ordered and brought my coffee to my seat when ready. She did ask if I was ordering to stay or to-go. Although my donut was on a glass plate, coffee was served in a paper cup. I do wish it were in a glass or china cup/mug. Cardboard detracts from the espresso drink experience IMHO. Still, the drink was well made. Creamy (I chose whole milk) with an espresso bite. What I thought was a Boston cream donut isn't exactly. This was a cake donut (usually it's a yeast donut) filled with vanilla cream (instead of custard) and had a nice milk chocolate frosting on top. I like cake donuts and this was a very nice one. It was very big. Almost too big to bite into. Background music is a playlist of current, uptempo tracks. Nothing jarring, just a nice steady, positive vibe. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Guests were mostly quiet. I didn't even hear the remote worker on a call. Definitely try this coffee shop. It's the kind of coffee shop I'd love to have in my own neighborhood.

Typically they have provided coffee and soda deliveries to local businesses, but most recently I've discovered that they have a store front specializing in the sale of K-Cups for Keurig home brewers. What a great idea! This store, although small, packs in an impressive array of K-Cups for shoppers to buy individually ($0.55 each as of 2/2010), in a 24-ct box ($11.45 each as of $2/2010), or a case of 4 24-ct. boxes ($45.50 as of 2/2010). They have a relatively good sampling of coffees from Green Mountain, Emeril's, Timothy's, Gloria Jeans, Coffee People, Tully's and a host of teas. They have boxes already open for you to grab individual K-Cups so you can try something before you buy it. The staff is exceptionally helpful and there to answer any questions you may have or provide some recommendations if you like. You can also brew a cup right in their storefront so you know immediately whether you like something or not. I highly recommend them!

I included pictures of everything but as of writing the review have only (been there many times before) but have only eaten the PUC and that chocolate mousse "parfait". It's ALL SO GOOD. I wanna make this particular review about this pineapple upside down cake though. It's one of my favorite desserts and I've loved it for years. TCF's P.U.C is PHENOMENAL. It's got this delicious, dense cake that sort of crumbles under your fork, it has almost a biscuity character to it. I'm only trying to make it sound better with that description. It's moist, dense, perfect. I've had PUC where it is more of a sponge cake cake, but there's is on another level. The toppings of pineapple and cherries were equally good and the cake had an amazing caramely character to it. Also not sure if sweet/condensed milk is in the recipe, but I thought I tasted a little in the cake. It was subtle as if they poured a little on the bottom of the box before placing my cake into it. The bottom was perfectly cooked and I got a lot of caramel notes throughout the cake. It had been sitting in the box just long enough to soak up all that delicious moistness, but not so long it lost its crumble or edges. Totally bomb. Totally recommend it! I also want to mention the women that work there are our absolute favorites. We have met 3 or 4 and they are all just entirely pleasant, sweet ladies who always have an engaging story. Very nice people working hard here. I really love this place.

After hearing so many wonderful things about Jacque's Pastry Shop in Suncook, NH and enjoying…read moreseveral of their cakes we confidently ordered a gluten-free wedding cake for our son's wedding. Based on Jacque's reputation and our experience with their cakes we did not visit the shop to taste their gluten-free offerings. The cake was nicely decorated. Unfortunately, it was one of the the biggest disappointments of an otherwise beautiful day. The cake was EXTREMELY dry, to the point of staleness. Our guests took a bite and pushed it aside. Several members of our family remarked that it was very dry. We understand that gluten-free baking can be challenging, but we've had many excellent gluten-free cakes elsewhere. Given Jacque's reputation and the premium price we paid, we expected a much higher-quality product. The customer service afterward was even more disappointing. I contacted the bakery and spoke to Jacque directly, twice. I requested at least a 50% refund or a credit for a non gluten free cake, believing either of these options was a fair resolution. Jacque responded by raising his voice and saying "absolutely not, it's not my fault". Then added "I just had surgery". My response was, "you are the business owner, so yes, it is your fault." Jacque stated that they buy a mix from a manufacturer that he did not name. I was shocked by both his response and lack of empathy for such an important occasion. I have never left a negative review for any business but couples deserve to know what our experience with gluten free was like. We trusted Jacque's with an important part of our son's wedding, and both the cake and the way our concerns were handled fell far short of our expectation.
