THE SPOT offered just what I was looking for--a healthy delicious smoothie (I got THE SHIPWRECK ) but I was not prepared for how friggin' cute this space IS! Cool local art hangs on the wall, delish offerings EVERYWHERE, cool local stickers and other hot merch abounds PLUS the ceiling transformed this ordinary smoothie stop into a magical ‍ and religious experience oh and most importantly, I was greeted at the door by Jasper who was a professional delight! Thank you, I'll be back. 13/10 highly recommend!

Açaí bowls are great! I got the Avalon and it was definitely the "Perfect Bowl Blend." The small was the perfect size for a dessert and included granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, honey, and coconut. They even offer a unsweet açaí or pitaya base. Coffee crunch shake was ok. It was more chocolate than coffee. Root beer float: 3 scoops of ice cream and a can of Mug. My son loved it! The employees were patient and friendly. The sitting areas were clean and spacious. There is plenty of parking, too!

Our first breakfast in OBX was at "The Spot" the açaí bowls are amazingly good. My daughter got a waffle for breakfast and loved it. There are three sizes. My wife got the small I got the regular and there is a bigger size too. The toppings on both of ours looked the same, but mine had more açaí base. We all had a great breakfast in a clean and bright restaurant. We were first to be served at 9am on Sunday. The place quickly filled up with people. It is a hot spot, that could take 20 minutes for your order (per the restaurant) during busy times. After my wife, daughter and I all finished, we ordered another bowl to go to bring back to our son who chose sleep over being first in line .... Note - they also have free wifi - I didn't see the password posted anywhere, but I asked the person taking orders and she gave it to me. Great place to get good food at the beach!

Great bowls of açaí. I would come back The place was packed too. The young lady working the register redefined happy. Holy cow. Everyone was in a better mood just talking to this person. Wow. What do they put in the water there. Ha.

This place is beautiful inside, but I have to say that the attitude of the girl who was working there totally ruined the experience. We walked in smiling and saying hello, she was slumped over the register and barely mumbled a hello. We had my little dog with us and were holding him so we could order some food to eat outside. She made a comment that we could only have him if we went outside. We were aware of that, we know that pets aren't allowed in restaurants, but it was also in the low 80s outside so I had to bring him in while I ordered (mind you, all of the other 10+ restaurants we ate at on our trip to the OBX welcomed us inside with our dog since he's small and we held him). Anyway, I ordered an acai bowl and a waffle and the cashier just stared at me as I completed the transaction. Feeling somewhat threatened, I made sure to add a tip. Literally the second I added the tip, she perked up and smiled at me. LMAO. I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had to pay extra for decent service. MY bad. We promptly went outside to eat on the little deck. The acai bowl and waffle were both delicious and I would love to return with someone different working the counter.

This place is a real highlight of any trip to OBX, and shouldn't be missed. - Haven't tried anything but the açaí bowls - I mean, why would you, lol? They are fantastic. Lots of choices for your five free add-ons mean your bowl can be delicious in tons of different ways. - Fun interior, fun merch, and fun, happy employees ensure a great experience. - Can get crazy busy - I like going late-morning or around lunchtime, when wait times are minimal.

This was probably the BEST pitaya bowl I have ever had. Customization was easy to fit everyone's tastes. Service was quick & friendly. We didn't stay to eat at The Spot because we took our bowls to the beach but we went right when it opened & parking was easy & there was space inside if we wanted to stay.

I ordered the Avalon bowl with Nutella instead of honey. It was delicious. A great place to grab açaí bowls on the island. The ambiance was ok. A good place to grab some food after the beach or pool but nothing too fancy. Everyone working there was nice and our bowls came out fast. I would go back here!

My açaí bowl was amazing! Friendly staff and fast service too. I will definitely be coming back to try other stuff!

My family and I decided to stop by after the beach and boy did this hit the spot on a hot day! The staff was friendly and for about 4 açaí bowls, 2 smoothies, and an ice cream cup; they didn't take too long to make. Açaí bowls were $7-$12 depending on size but the regular/small was enough for me.

I talked Ms T into trying it again. We just can't handle a big lunch and wanted to avoid leftovers, so decided to split a pickle brined chicken sandwich with fries and an extra side of slaw. The sandwich was OK. To start with it needed more seasoning. How about breaking out the black pepper and garlic powder? The meat was uncharacteristically tough/chewy for chicken breast. I suggest they need to be pounding it to tenderize it and then brine it. It was actually hard for us to cut and eat. It really looked nice, but I think I am done with pickle brined chicken. It just never gets enough brine impact. They make good small caliber fries that were piping hot and the slaw was fine for me. Ms T did not care for it so I got it all. Our food was OK, not stellar. The service was excellent, but I still can't make this better than three stars. I hope to convince her to return for a burger during this trip.

It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. It got the job done as I enjoy one cup a day and was a bit behind schedule. The place is small, but perfect for a coffee shop where take out is mostly occurring.
