Busy, quick, small -- which allows you to know that it was a "hole-in-the-wall that got famous so now i wouldn't really qualify it as that bc that where you go to get ice cream here. But, it was worth it. and i am not usually an ice cream girl, or really desserts for that matter, but i came and it was SOOOO GOOD!!! Unique flavors but didn't like any of them. Carrot cake was super faint same with pacha. Whereas butter pecan was too rich and tasted too much like butter it was kinda sickening. The coconut lotus pie had a faint coconut flavor but else tasted like something not coconut or lotus. I only ate half my scoop which was $6.45. It very difficult for me to not like icecream so very disappointing. Noose scoops oat meal pie flavor yesterday much better and only $4.50 scoop. I think holy cow is worth it to try the donut panini but just for icecream it's not. read more

Cute little spot to stop for a sweet treat of ice cream. They have a big variety of flavors and the establishment looks clean. They have very few outdoor seating which I noticed. Since there are so many flavors to choose from it can be a bit overwhelming especially when you are stopping by with a toddler. Unfortunately my only complaint was that I felt so rushed to order even though there was nobody behind us in line. The girl assisting our family felt so annoyed with her face gestures and kept asking if we were ready to order? Just by the service I can't give it five stars. This is a small building and the line was out in the parking lot. But the girls working were fast and efficient and the line moved quickly. I had the banana pudding ice cream it was great. My son has food allergies and when I told them the girl washed her hands and got him something from a fresh container to avoid contamination. Tiny Ice Cream Shop in a very small strip mall. Lots of flavors to choose from. Staff is very friendly however you really feel rushed if people are behind you. Most of the flavors have unusual names so it takes a few minutes to read the board. Our party tried several different flavors and a milkshake. All agreed their choices were good but not great. Prices were a little on the high side, however it is a beach town in the summer so... There is no seating inside however there are a few benches in front of the strip mall. Biggest issue is the parking lot is very small, poorly designed, and neighboring business are open late. We witnessed some very "creative" and dangerous parking by several impatient patrons. Including people parking in neighboring houses grass and driveways. Also several people just parked people in. When this happens these people go to the back of the queue. When the people in the front of the line come out they are stuck. Also because of the size of the lot of anyone parks in any location is not a lined spot it becomes extremely difficult to turn around or back out of the lot on the busy street (especially during the summer). This location is best to walk up to. Drive and park at your own risk. read more

Line out the door!! I had a milkshake made out of one of their daily ice creams named Irish crunch. It had an Irish cream, Heath bar and chocolate, I think. It was amazing. I will start by saying there was a very long line but it moved quite quickly...the service there knows how to handle the crowds! They had a variety of flavors that sounded good and I wanted to sample several but didn't want to hold up the line so I just went for a scoop of their namesake - Holy Cow. It was a vanilla ice cream with bits of Oreo and pretzel and some sea salt caramel within. I was honestly pretty underwhelmed...the vanilla ice cream itself lacked flavor and there weren't many pretzel or Oreo pieces within, plus the texture wasn't as creamy as I'd have liked. No OBX trip is complete without stopping here. My friends and I had 3 days here and I think we came here 3x. AND I'M LACTOSE INTOLERANT. So I only took a few bites each visit, of their ice cream, but they were amazing bites. They have a little bench inside and some seating outside to enjoy the treat. It's a cozy place. We now understand how much everyone loves this place! Came in around 5:00 (a pretty off-peak time) and were warmly greeted by staff who explained the menu. All the ice cream is house made and they offer an ice cream stuffed donut that's put on a panini press... Seemed really cool but after donuts the day before I took a pass. Went for a medium with the coffee plus the Irish cream scoops which were an absolutely perfect match! Ice cream is rich and creamy (not icy) and the flavors really pop. The cheerful service warmed my heart. I was sad to not manage to go a second and third time. The sitting space may be rather limited, but comfortable. A random find off the beaten path, boy did this little hole in the wall ice cream shop impress! The variety of flavors and the rich, home made taste and texture leave nothing to be desired. The staff were nice and offered free tasting of any and all flavors we wanted to try with a smile to boot.
