The quaint gift shop next-door makes the waiting for a table to be seated very PLEASANT. The fresh deep fried fish tenders are phenomenal, especially the flounder strips they were seasoned well, which is rare for a lot of battered seafood! The frozen drinks are great there. The atmosphere is a whole vibe, especially at the kickoff of summer, locals and tourists both love it. I have frequent at this restaurant several times everything ranging from the end of season football celebration luncheon to special family birthday functions and even date night nights. It is awesome highly recommend.!! They have fire pits, cozy couches, high top tables even booth seating ! The staff flounder was delicious. The only food I did not like was the chicken Alfredo. The chicken breasts were a bit tough and not marinated or flavorful, but the seafood is spectacular and fresh! they have an adorable parrot named tequila. That is a great photo app and plenty of other backdrops from wooden statues, and even a giant shell that you can stand inside of.

5/10/2026: Grand Marlin is top-notch!…read more We had an incredible experience here on May 10th. Our server, Brittany, gave excellent service and was incredibly accommodating. Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving. Even at night, it shows off those perfect Pensacola views.

Shaggy's was one of our favorite spots during our stay in Pensacola Beach…read more Location This was definitely one of the big reasons we tried their food to begin with, but their food and great service was why we returned. They have a cool layout with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a cool area downstairs too by the water with tables for people to wait at. The place just embodies a beach restaurant. Food You had me a "Fried Green Tomatoes". I am a sucker for FGTs! So I was instantly drawn to this location. We visited first to get food to go. We enjoyed the food so much we returned to more times! The kids really enjoyed the kids meals, and my wife tried several seafood dishes and seemed to enjoy all of them. As a vegetarian my selections were limited but the stuff i did try was good. The Drinks We ordered a few of their mixed drinks and I wasn't really impressed. They all looked a lot better than they tasted. They did have a really good beer selection and I was able to enjoy a few beers I had never heard of. Service Definitely the Highlight of our visits, their servers and bartenders really seem to care! They spoke to everyone, they interacted with our kids, they never forgot sides, they moved with urgency, I could go on and on. Kudos to Shaggy's staff as a whole for really making our visits special. I definitely recommend giving Shaggy's a try.

It seemed as though the dinner crowd started to thin out around seven to seven thirty. When we were seated, the first available was a two seat high top next to a column in front of the bar. The wait was expected, but the column was claustrophobic and it was a high traffic area. But that was the only downside. We had the Gator Bites and the Three Shrimp plate. The Gator was new to us, it was fried, and tasted like chicken. There seemed to be a mix of white and dark meat, but I am not sure as we have never had Gator before. The Three Shrimp was 15 Shrimp prepared three different ways: Bacon Wrapped, Coconut, and Butter/Garlic. The shrimp were served on a bed of fries with two hush puppies. The sauce they served was an unexpected surprise and I could have used two containers. I probably liked the Bacon Wrapped the best because of the glaze that was on it, but all three were really good. I really liked Shaggy's but would recommend timing it either before or after the dinner rush. Also, if you are dining for two, I would be sure to request that you not be seated at the high top in front of the bar with the column :)

Went for Christmas dinner and the pictures and details are not accurate …read more When my family and I walked in SALT its like an open bar/restaurant. We had two adults and three kids . $65 per adult, $20 for my 5 year old and my three year old was free. We were immediately sat and I was confused where this amazing buffet was . Like I had to look around to where the food was . I immediately saw the carving station which had prime rib, turkey , snapper, and ham but was looking for a cold bar which there wasn't . The side bar had two bowls of salad, different greens iceburg vs darker greens and add ons such as croutons , tomato's, cucumbers, cheese, Peel your own shrimp that were lukewarm since they had no ice to sit on. The shrimp was warm and tough to eat. Not the peeling but the texture of the shrimp was hard and chewy. Then they had four hot pans which had the oddest Mac and cheese I've seen it was a solid brick when I cut into it , hard Brussels , there was stuffing , potatoes that also were very thick and weren't smooth and green bean casserole Charcuterie station .... side shelf . With a wood board on it was cubed cheese that were just sitting out no rotation . Meat that was in the shape of roses but when you put that food in the main walk way it heats up so the meat is just sweating and shiny. Just like the butter was in balls but it was getting warm . There was a heating lamp on the very small rolls and cut up pieces of Italian bread ? But that was it . Carving station : I had the prime rib which they gave me the smallest thinnest sliver ever so I asked for two since I didn't get any other proteins that prime rib was pretty good . The snapper was very dry my son loves fish and my husband and I were surprised at how chewy and dry it was. . Ham: my daughter loved the ham and it did look pretty good. Turkey : we didn't try it Desserts : Just go to the coffee shop / bakery in the lobby . They HAD WAY MORE desserts than this buffet did. The desserts that they had of course a lovely empty plate that I'm guessing was maybe cheese cake bites ? Of course remained empty just sitting on the desserts table as I watched bartenders and servers walk by . Gf chocolate cake , bread pudding that was dried in there since the heater was obviously too hot or didn't have anymore water in it so it's just burning up the already cooked food . Apple cobbler which tasted like it was from sysyco itself . Just tasted like a pie that was bought from a store . Peanut butter cookies that were massive but had no flavor , chocolate chip raisin , chocolate chip cookie and mini sweating pieces of mini chocolate cake that my three year old wouldn't even finish . It just tasted all like I picked it up from Walmart and put it on a plate . For the money we paid this expensive experience was just not worth it . We are Hilton rewards members have been for years since we travel often and I read many reviews about the food and brunches being amazing . This was not it especially when they charge 20% for the service charge . I'm confused for what ? Food was burning in the heaters, food is left out and warming such as cheeses, dressings, shrimp, and supposed to be cold meats ... Also there was no seasonal drinks offered to us nor any discounted wines since per the menu you had to buy a full bottle of white and not have a glass .
