I love The Stand. Good vibes right when you walk in and you're always greeted like you're a VIP. This place is my go-to for watching my favorite sports and the food and beverage selection is great and reasonably priced! I've had several dishes (usually with fries) and the ingredients are fresh and made to order. Your order is taken within a few minutes of being seated and it's consistently brought to you relatively quick. One of my personal favorites is the spot-lighted spicy Piri-Piri Chicken Bowl, which is layered with so much flavor. It is on the healthier side of their menu, but believe me, it's like a party in your mouth! And that piri-piri sauce! Oh, man! I've also had the Havarti Shroom Burger. I rate restaurants usually by having something I love and this burger and fry combo is perfect for me as the patty is made in-house and is juicy and scrumptious. The texture, flavor, and freshness of ingredients is on point and it really hit the spot. As for their beer selection, they offer 12 on tap, 3 of which are produced by them! My favorite is the IPA - delicious and priced at $7 a pint. About their service, I know most of the FOH staff by name. Ha! All the team members from top to bottom are friendly and really make The Stand a must-come-back spot for me. Jacob, Sean, Javier, Maria, and Nathalie, have been my bartenders. They are an awesome cast of characters, who I can carry a conversation with and know how to take care of me. Thank you, guys, for all my experiences. You've been professional at what you do! This particular location has been home to multiple restaurants in the past. Being tucked in the corner, parking can be a little wonky when it's busy. I'll begin with the things I like. I like the outdoor patio seating when the weather permits. I also like the fact that you get a little container of chips and pickles at the counter after you order. As for food, they have a decent selection of burgers, salads, and wings. The sodas are self serve, but they bring out your food to your table if you dine in. I had a bleu cheese burger with onion rings, while my wife had a chicken salad of some sort. Her salad was decently sized, but it wasn't anything special. Salads are hard to wow me I guess. As for my burger, it was ok. The meat quality was on par for a more upscale burger joint. The bun was really good, as were the onion rings. As for the not so good aspects, the outdoor seating faces the wonderful view of Capitol Expressway. It's not their fault, but it can get loud out there. Also, the free chips that I mentioned earlier are much too small. I think each container has like 3 chips. Lastly, the food was good but not good enough for me to seek out The Stand when I get the craving. There are too many decent burger places closer to me.
