I've been here twice now, although it's been a few years since I've been here. This time I ordered the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. Originally I was looking to get pearls, but they didn't have any at the time. I asked the staff how the sweetness is, and he explained it tends to run on the sweeter side and grass jelly would add additional sweetness. I ended up going with 25% sweet. I think I could have gone to 50%, but it's fine. Regardless of the sweetness, the jasmine flavor was a bit off in taste for me in that it didn't have the floral quality that I was expecting. I'd say the grass jelly didn't add too much sweetness. I was also expecting the grass jelly to be the one that sinks to the bottom of the cup, but it was floating at the top, so initially when I was drinking it, I thought they had forgotten to add the grass jelly, but it was there. It was also cubed for ease of drinking. In addition to milk teas and teas, they do have Vietnamese coffee with different types of foam/cream toppings. It's cool they have the standard salt coffee, but also toppings such as ube, pandan, durian, egg. I had a Vietnamese coffee previously here, but I can't recall exactly how it was. They do also have some sweet pastry and some savory snack options. The shop was clean and spacious. It has some seating in here. It was pretty empty when we got here. They do have a happy hour 3-6 pm for two types of drinks (but all I remember is jasmine tea), in which the drinks are $4 each. Considering it seems most of their drinks land in the $6-$8 realm, this is a good deal. Service was very friendly and the staff member who helped me was informative. The banh mi is a lot smaller than I anticipated. Let's say that's my fault for having a big imagination. Now, I don't think the size of the banh mi would have been a problem, except for the fact that we wait for nearly HALF AN HOUR for two orders. Like omg. It's not even a reg size banh mi. People who ordered after us, got their orders before us. I gave it two stars because the girl was polite and the banh mi texture was good. But otherwise, I'm not coming back. The banh mi was flavorful, but thinner compared to traditional banh mi's. It was a light snack that will not leave you feeling full. The sandwich came with Vietnamese pork roll, pâté, pork floss, and bits of dried shrimp. It didn't include vegetables, which is different from the typical banh mi that includes pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, and cilantro. The pandan coffee was rich, sweet, and creamy. I love the variety of cà phê sữa đá here! I've been here on multiple occasions and they never fail to keep me caffeinated all day. I've tried their cà phê muối (salt coffee), cà phê trứng (egg coffee), and cà phê lá dứa (pandan coffee). The cream tops and flavors here are strong but not overwhelming so my cà phê is still fragrant! Their cà phê sữa đá is small but mighty as it has a thicker consistency, diluting very well. I personally like the thicker consistency of the drinks because it has a stronger flavor too. Drinks are made quickly and I never have to wait for any longer than 5 minutes. The store itself is clean and spacious with a handful of tables and long booth. I highly recommend coming here but be sure to drink your drinks early as the caffeine here is super strong. read more

Unfortunately, I was unable to try their sandwiches, but decided to get one of their drinks. Banana Matcha Einspanner (4/5). The banana foam was delicious and was a nice combination with the Matcha. Cafes Quan really knows how to decorate for the holidays. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by a HUGE, beautiful Christmas tree! We ordered the Mini Pork Floss and the Mini Pate bani mi. The bread is toasted to perfection. It has a great crunch on the outside but is still soft and fluffy on the inside. Paired with the savory pate, each rich bite will leave you wanting more. For coffee, we got the black coffee with coconut milk, Ube coffee, egg coffee, and coconut coffee. They all were a lovely dark roast. The coffee itself was sour and only drinkable with the egg cream mixed in. I get Vietnamese coffee is "strong" and this has a strong taste but sour indicates old coffee. It did not have the taste of chicory. For the price, I'd prefer elsewhere. The place on the surface is "clean" but looking at the finer details, I couldn't get past the grime. With the theme of this place being Parisian/ minimal, every little thing stands out. Part of the small details that were missed were the old dried leaves that weren't swept up. They looked like they've been there for a while and not just fallen from the tree. The chairs were also uncomfy and the music too loud. They changed banh my que to shorter/half sized one. That's ridiculous as the bag is tall and banh my is like half sized down the bag; so inconvenient. I'm not sure the logic behind it. Looks like they are opening another one near Vietnam Town on Story Road. This one makes Good Authentic Drinks mostly Coffee. I'd give the banana cream matcha a 3.5 if I could. The banana cream was very fragrant with chewy bits. Matcha wasn't strong and had a green tea flavor instead but it isn't the worst. The sweetener is at the bottom so you'll have to mix the drink completely to get a balanced taste. Otherwise, it's just milk and tea sitting at the top. I like the added biscoff cookie as well. Boba cafes are here to stayed and growing in popularity among boba enthusiast and Cafes Quan is no exception and unlike the one on Story Road here they're opened 7 in the morning probably the best time to beat the crowd not to mention heavy traffic worst on the weekends. Came by on a Saturday morning greeted by a young lady who was very helpful as she explained their mini bánh mì is a real hit for only $4 chose the one for pate and shrimp and a large size Vietnamese iced coffee 50% less sweetness with regular ice. The mini bánh mì served on a baguette has a crunchy texture not stale or bland and the pate has a rich savory taste wouldn't mind having that again. The interior however is not as spacious limited seating and mainly take-out and pickup deliveries. Definitely be back will go by the one on Story Road and compare the two. Short review since we usually just come in for coffee. I saw this place on social media before they even opened and I was super excited because their drinks looked really good! When they finally opened, I came in for a quick coffee. The inside was really nice and they have a cute Paris-type theme. I ordered the CQ Signature and my brother got the Traditional Vietnamese Coffee. There were a lot of other people waiting for drinks so we did have to wait a little bit. It wasn't too long of a wait though. When we got our drinks, they let us know that if we wanted to make any adjustments we could let them know. I really appreciate that! I really liked the CQ Signature coffee and it has been my go-to ever since. I did try other menu items like the Pandan Coffee, CQ Egg Coffee, and Jasmine Milk Tea. The first thing I noticed as I stepped into Cafes Quan was the unique, monochrome colored ambiance, complete with a relatively decent amount of seating. It seemed like an alright place to work, though I was unfortunately only there to pick up drinks so I couldn't stay for long. The service was alright. I decided to get the egg coffee and a coconut coffee, both of which came at a relatively reasonable amount of time. The drinks themselves were enjoyable (I recall there being coconut flakes in my coconut coffee which was interesting), though there was one minor flaw - my caffeine tolerance is awful, and I overestimated how much of it I could handle. Dealing with the side effects of excess caffeine was not fun. On the bright side, I at least know what my limits are for the future. Overall, Cafes Quan is an amazing place for coffee drinkers who have a high caffeine tolerance. If you're someone like me, it might be best to go elsewhere. With so much competition for Vietnamese coffee, you gotta have something to keep people coming back, though not too impressed by Bobo Drinks. Cafes Quan is a better business model, smaller menu and Banh Mi Que as the only food option. Based off reviews decided to get the Oolong Milk Tea, the CQ Coconut Coffee with Coffee Jelly and the Combination CQ Banh Mi Que. The Oolong MT was milky with that signature roasty and earthy oolong flavor. The sweetness was okay to me, but you may need to adjust if you're not a fan of sweet drinks. The Vietnamese Coffee was strong, with a good amount of jelly and topped with toasted coconut flakes. Is it my favorite Coconut Coffee drink? Not exactly, but it does the job! The Banh Mi Que was easy to eat, gone are the days of crumbs everywhere and tearing up the roof of your mouth. It may be small but they are generous with the pate and pork floss. Spectacular, give me 14 more. Price is super affordable. Two drinks and a banh mi came out to $15 for their special. Incredible considering most coffee or milk tea drinks average about $7 now. Drinks and food came out in a thermal take out bag, cute! Interior is black and white with a Parisian inspired wall art, The seats were actually super comfortable and the space was small, but doesn't feel stuffy.
