The burgers are amazing! The rest is ho hum. Some tips... order at the counter and pay cash. You can use the kiosk to order but it only takes card and they add a convenience fee which you're not told about. If you pay cash at the counter, this isn't an issue. If you want extra ketchup, don't pay for it on the kiosk, there are packets over by the utensils and soda machine. We paid extra for burger sauce and ketchup and were told when we picked up our order that they were out of burger sauce even though we still got charged for it. To make up for it, they gave us extra free ketchup Our party ordered three different burgers and three different sides. For sides we got the waffle fries, the waffle fries with spicy seasoning, and the tater tots. The fried sides were all okay, we overpaid for 2 of the 3 because we used the kiosk and paid extra for burger sauce that they were apparently out of but the kiosk still let us order it. All the fried stuff was just okay. The burgers were all amazing! We tried the Wild West, the Blondy Cheeseburger and the BBL-T (w/o onions). They were all tasty, the Wild West seemed a bit of a mess because of the sauce but was reportedly tasty all the same. We sat in the corner of the restaurant closest to the intersection of Cottle and Santa Teresa. While seated there we had whiffs of burger cooking and sewage smell (presumably from the bathroom). That wasn't great but we dealt with it. We ordered our meals for dine in but they came all packaged up in boxes and bags because we were told they were out of trays. Although we later saw an order being delivered on a tray so I'm not sure if they only have a handful of trays or what. When we were there the dining room was basically empty. It seems they do a large amount of to go/door dash business. I would definitely go back for the burgers. Maybe get them to go or door dash them. Burger Club is located in the same spot as Egghead Sando. I ordered the burger with jalapeños and it was absolutely delicious. There are a few of the burgers that were listed with smash patties and a few of the burgers were listed with just 'beef patties' but still came out as smash. This was a bit misleading but the flavor was still great. The service was fast and friendly and the inside was clean with ample seating. They did have the back half of the seating area, where the restrooms were, blocked off. read more

Yummy little hidden gem in San Jose! Located inside the egghead sando location, there's a separate iPad kiosk labeled for burger club! It's VERY well priced for this economy! We tried their smash burger (can be a little more oily due to the amount of ooey gooey cheese inside) with two Patties!! You can definitely taste the smash grill flavor. The Blondy Cheeseburger has a very nice balance with the lettuce and tomato offsetting a little bit of the grease in a good burger. Food comes out fast and there's a LOT of seating inside, very quiet and quaint so you can sit and chat with no problems! Definitely will be coming back for a burger. read more

$3 for a cheeseburger is such a steal in the Bay. I came here with the intention to eat at Egghead Sando but Burger Club's (located inside Egghead) competitive prices seemed too good to pass up. We tried the Chubby Chic and Wild West. The chicken is pleasantly crispy and tender and well-seasoned. No complaints. The Wild came with a few pieces of bacon. Both sandwiches came out hot and fresh. Wait time was about 10 minutes for the food to come out and the store was almost empty which is fine but I could imagine it taking longer when it is busy. The burger had a crispy edge and the sauce on it was fireee Blondy cheeseburger: 4/5, I've never had a smash burger and I loved it!! These are some very tasty burgers, nice fried side dishes, and a long time to get my food. I tried the BBL-T and the Burger Club Smash, both of which were excellent. AND reasonably priced. I mean, nothing to complain about at all. My litmus test is usually In-N-Out, and yes, these burgers are better than the old standby. The fact they are barely more expensive is a huge plus. I also split waffle fries and tater tots. The waffle fries were okay, a little soggy even though I ate them about 3 minutes after my order was handed over. Not sure what happened there but they were fine. The tater tots were great, I would say just about at my limit for salt tolerance. So if you're in the Joshua Weissman camp of "you can't oversalt a fry" then these will be up your alley. For me, ketchup with its acidic sweetness was the only condiment that would work to offset the high salt level, the spread was too savory. Speaking of the spread, they add some sort of spicy component to it. It's still mild, but if you're a no-spice type then be cautious. The only big issue was the overly long wait. I get it's hard to estimate how long food takes, especially for a new pop up like this, but if you say 13 minutes it can't be 26 minutes. That's just too far off. Inside (and outside) this is Egghead Sando Cafe. It's clean, somewhat modern, in a big parking lot. AND a security guard, for some reason. I didn't think Almaden Valley was a hot bed of criminal activity but I guess you never know. This are of San Jose is woefully bereft of smash burgers, so this is a great addition. I guess they have a few small teething pains but given the quality and price I think we can overlook them. I ordered from here on Door Dash at the beginning of June. I was starving & craving a burger but didn't want to break the bank for a meal. I came across this place on Door Dash & saw the prices - the food looked decent as well so I decided to give it a try. Overall thoughts: Burgers - 2/5 I honestly wasn't impressed, the flavor of the burger wasn't super great and there was nothing about the burger that stood out to me. Fries - 1/5 they were INCREDIBLY over seasoned. The fries had a crazy amount of salt, so much that I'm convinced that it had to have been a mistake by someone in the kitchen because to serve fries with that much salt on them should be a crime. Brazilian lemonade - 1.5/5 this might come down to personal preference but I didn't enjoy this at all. It was bitter but oddly sweet because of the condensed milk. However, I still found myself needing to add additional sweetener to help with the flavor but nothing I added helped. I truly rate this place 2/5 but because of the pricing, I gave it a 3/5. I placed a DoorDash pickup order for my family: two chicken tenders for the kids (listed as 2 for $12), two burgers for my husband and me (also advertised as 2 for $12), plus tots and fries at $5 each. When I went to pick up the order, the employee behind the counter told me they were too busy to make the chicken tenders and that the item had to be canceled. What made this especially frustrating is that I had already been sitting in my car outside the restaurant for over 30 minutes waiting for the order to be ready. (and they didn't look busy) As I got back into my car, I saw that same employee and a coworker eating chicken tenders. So it wasn't that they didn't have time to make them -- they clearly had them and chose to eat them instead. To make matters worse, once I got home I realized I was also charged incorrectly. The burgers were supposed to be part of a 2-for-$12 promo, but I was charged $12 each. First off this burger is the best burger in south San Jose. Hands down. Patties are thicker than In and out, seasoning on sauce is great. I left full because of how legit the patties are. For reference I order two 3x3 and 2 fries to fill full at In & out. Wait time was 6 min to get my food with zero wait. There is one cook and one person taking orders currently. It is 730pm currently I know for a fact at the other burger spot down the road I would have waited 20 min minimum, plus standing in line. I got to enjoy my food in peace and quiet. Fantastic burgers! Very juicy and lots of flavor. I got the Burger Club Smash: Two 2.5 oz beef patties are smashed with onions, served with pickles, and with Burger Club sauce. You order at the same register but it's a separate menu. The music is too loud but if you choose the right table it's quieter. An order of tater tots was huge! Had to bring most of it home. Plenty of parking and fast service, too. This place used to be a McDonalds a long time ago. It sat empty for years until Egghead took over. I wasn't impressed with their food, went once and never again. So I was very happy when Burger Club was added. I got hooked on Burger Club after trying it out late night when it was still sharing a storefront with Egghead on Capitol. The staff was always accommodating to our questions and requests & we're overall very welcoming. It's hard to beat a late night comfort food spot that serves burgers as good as this! Their smash burgers are great as-is, but with extra house dressing it upgrades to a full 10/10! The unsung hero of this place has to be their tater tots - never have I ever had such consistent tater tots in terms of flavor & epically crispy texture! And dipped in their house dressing, GG. The only reason I couldn't give it 5/5 stars was because their Brazilian lemonade looked SO GOOD but was so underwhelming. I really wanted to like it too! My real rating would be 4.5/5 but we can't do half stars here. Oh well! I'll certainly be coming back at least once a month. read more

3.5 stars... In the area and decided to try this place. Kind of hard to find the place as there is no large signage. They actually share the space with Egghead Sando. Ambiance: Nice and clean, a little cold but bearable. No one at the counter. Just 2 kiosks for ordering food. When I jumped on to order I couldn't find the burgers. Apparently the kiosks are separate... one for Egghead and one for Burger Club which was a little confusing. Ordered the burger club smash and tater tots. I was a little put off by nickel and diming for extra ketchup and sauces. Service: Service was good. The person at the counter was friendly and engaging. Had to explain the ordering process to a different customer and showed patience. Food: On to the food... Burger was a little small but really tasty! The sauce is amazing and probably the best part of the burger. Unfortunately the tater tots were cold probably due to sitting on the window for a while which was disappointing. Overall, the food is decent. Hopefully they fix some of the logistics and maybe not charge for extra sauces which seems a little petty. Found this burger place on Yelp. Located inside of an Egghead location. I called to place my order and then drove over to pick up. The gentleman on the phone was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. When I arrived he greeted me by name, helped me pay on the self-serve computer screen and brought me my order. It was cute, clean and organized inside. The burgers we ordered were good size at a great price. I haven't had many smashed burgers, but it was very good and will definitely return. We ordered the Plain Jane, Burger Club Smash, and Double Trouble, and shared tater tots. Everyone enjoyed their meal! read more

Ordered here yesterday at 1:15. Ordered a drink, 2 waffle fries, a double trouble with bacon and a burger club smash. They served the drink immediately but after 30 mins, no food was served so we checked on them. They forgot our order. Then when we finally got our food, only the waffle fries were correctly made. The 3 burgers only had sauce and the patties in the buns. We bought it back and they took it, argued amongst themselves about the order and when we finally got our burgers, they were cold, dry and completely falling apart. They basically haphazardly added the missing ingredients and re-served the food at 2pm. (The times were noted on the receipt.) And it wasn't even a busy day. Only 2 other parties were at the restaurant. We used to love going to the location on Capitol and miss it dearly. But after this experience, we will be looking for another favorite burger place.
