I drove by Chikin Drip and noticed they were open late. The parking isn't that bad. Tons of outside seating and inside also. A lot of windows, so it can get bright during the day. They have house music and two restrooms; one unisex and one women. I ordered the Combo #1 (medium spicy): one slider + slaw, +pickles, secret sauce + fries. No drink included. The bread was soft and absorbed all the slaw and spices. Though, I agree with another reviewer as the spiciness wasn't as spicy as one would imagine. Still the white meat was juicy and tender. I really wanted to like this new chicken sando spot, but it fell short on many factors. For starters, tell me why an online order for pick up would take an additional 30 minutes on top of the 15 minutes heads up (ordering while we drove to the spot) and still not be ready? And isn't hot either?! The items were lukewarm. It also felt like the staff couldn't get the timing right for other people as well, since I saw everyone inside was also waiting for their orders... Anyways, after the long wait for food, I left and went straight to eat. I got a mild combo, which consisted of a tender, some fries, and a chicken sando. I understand mild isn't supposed to be spicy, but a little bit of heat. My sandwich, however, tasted sweet!! And no Cajun taste whatsoever. My partner had ordered a medium, and he felt his flavors were very off too... I don't know if I'll come back here. It took forever to get my food, food wasn't hot when I picked it up, and flavors were not there. It's a hard pass to come back and dine at Chikin Drip for now--especially when the Bay Area is littered with plenty of other chicken sando spots. Price point isn't bad, but if the flavors are weird and wait time is forever for an online pickup, I think I'll have to wait until they survive a year or something. We live about 8mins away just so no one says we had take out so that's why the sogginess. Coleslaw was crunchy and fresh but extremely DRY as well. The sandwiches finally soggy zero crunch not very big which I worried about since the price wasn't outrageous like everywhere else. Seasoning on chicken was yummy. Chicken was cooked well not dry When ordering the status of my order never changed, stayed at confirmed never moved on to the next step which was preparing or done. Restaurant had absolutely no one in the store nor anyone coming to get their food, just us. Clean atmosphere But one thing about this new place is they need supervision seriously. I've been going for about almost 2 years now and ever since then I've noticed how much they cut down on the portion which really sucks. The portion now is basically half of what it was before, literally. I wish I had taken a picture of the loaded fries that I had ordered recently to compare it to what it was before. Tried this place while working close by and it reminded of a no frills Dave's hot chicken type of restaurant! They only have 4 flavors for their chicken sliders or tenders which are mild, medium, spicy and extra spicy. I went with the mild on my slider and medium on the tender. Glad I did ! The medium was already starting to be really spicy so wouldn't want to know what hot tasted like! The service was great by the young lady and the order came out quick! With very limited flavor options not sure I would eat here again! I'm into different sauces and seasonings and flavors so this is just too basic for me. Saw this pop up on my Yelp home page and I am a fan of Nashville chicken so I gave this place a try. This place seems like it has just opened not long ago and I went around noon time on a weekday so there was no line. Not sure if weekends or evening time is the same. There is a lot of space with good amount of seating. I opted to order the loaded fries and wanted to try their highest spice level which was holy chick just to see how it compared to other places like Dave's and Angry Chickz but the staff told me I had to email them and then I would get a reply back. This is a new and weird concept. Most places will have an online form that you submit and just show the cashier or they will have a waiver ready at the front. Hopefully they will make this a much easier process. I ended going for the X tra Hot which was one level down since I didn't want to waste time with an email. The loaded fries looked really good and had a lot of toppings. The fries were nice and crisp and not soggy at all. The coleslaw and pickles were also good. The pickles were not overwhelmingly tangy and the coleslaw did not take away the taste where it was drenched in sauce. I was disappointed with the amount of chicken that came with the fries for the price. I recommend ordering more food if ur hungry or order something else on the menu. The chicken was very tender and juicy, I was very impressed. The breading was also good where it was light. Now to the reason why I came here, the spice level. This was a big let down. They had a lot of spice level and the X tra hot was nowhere near spicy. It had a little kick but nothing extra spicy about it. I had my coworker try a chicken piece who doesn't really like spicy food and he even said he was able to eat it and didn't taste much spice. I seen a review from someone else mentioning the spice level was no where near the spice that they mention. The X tra Hot I would say is more comparable to Medium/Hot at other locations that serve Nashville style chicken. So if u can't tolerate spice but like a little kick, try medium or higher since the spice level is really not what it's cracked up to be. Other than the spice level disappointment, the food was good but chicken portion for the fries is not great. I would advise skipping it and just get the sliders or the chicken tenders for that price and ask for their special sauce. I still recommend this place if u like ur Nashville chicken but without the crazy spiciness and just a hint of spice. read more
