The Standard is truly anything other than standard. A fine dining experience on East 185th street with excellent food, great customer service, and beautiful atmosphere. I love that this place is in my neighborhood and that I get to stop by at the drop of a dime knowing that I will have a delicious meal. I personally enjoy coming by myself and taking a seat at the bar. Their bourbon smash is one of the best I've ever had and I always get it. They also have an extensive wine list. The menu is a fusion between Moroccan and Italian cuisine. They have a ton of lamb dishes which is right up my alley. I think I've tried them all. My fave is the lamb risotto. The shank is soooo tender and the risotto is full of cream and flavor. The Moroccan spices really elevate each dish. I've also tried the lamb couscous, which is tasty also. Today I tried a Moroccan lamb sausage that was on the appetizer menu. Again, the Moroccan spices made it delicious. I also had the burrata salad. I will say that the tomatoes were a bit soft for my liking for this type of salad. However, they did put some type of spice mixture on top, which made it very flavorful and made up for the soft tomato's. I typically expect an heirloom tomato to be pretty sturdy. Their bread service is phenomenal: two soft dinner rolls, with a trio of hummus, olive tapenade, and oil and balsamic vinegar, that comes with every entree. It's truly irresistible. I love this place and have never had a bad meal here.

I absolutely love this place. Such a beautiful little hidden gem. Beautiful ambience. Tucked in a place I would never expect. Great seafood selection and wonderful bartenders. They make a great espresso martini and that's all I ever made. There's only street parking and that's really the only downfall of this place. Other than that, I would recommend again and again.

Hidden gem! Food is always great and the portion sizes are pretty big even when ordering takeout. Nice ambiance in the front dining area but it fills up quick sometimes so I'd recommend making a reservation. Luckily the back patio is usually open no matter the season (enclosed & heated in the winter of course). Great date night place!

This restaurant has been on my to go to list for a few years now and I'm happy I finally got an opportunity to try it out. The neighborhood isn't the greatest and the exterior isn't too flashy but the inside and patio are very welcoming. The patio is actually very nice and maybe one of the little hidden gems in Cleveland. There's an outdoor covered bar and all the patio seating is covered. Table bread was served with tapenade, olive oil and balsamic, and an assortment of olives and cheese. We went through two servings. It was great. We decided to order an app and got the shrimp au gratin. Wow, what a home run this was. I've never had anything just like this, and it was everything I didn't expect. The shrimp was sizable, the mushrooms were tasty, and cheese cream sauce was perfect. Dip your bread in the cream and you have a happy face. The short rib entrée may be one of the best cuts of short rib I've ever had. I was definitely impressed. We also got the lamb shank and risotto meal and it was also pretty good. The only low point of the night - service was a little slower than average. But it was a great time overall and I'll be back.

Came back for a second time. Everything was just as good. Sat in the open deck this time, quite nice. We enjoyed the food just as much the service was great as expected.

I thoroughly enjoyed the culinary experience at the Standard. It is tucked into an unsuspecting area of Cleveland and is truly a gem. They accept reservations and appeared to have ample seating inside, outside covered and outside uncovered. The menu is truly a culinary experience. The 4-star recommendation is based on the menu being eclectic and not offering a few more simple/basic menu options for those that may not be adventurous with their palate. Luckily our group was open to the adventure and enjoyed our selections. The drinks were great, staff was amazing, and food was awesome. Everything was well prepared, seasoned just right, and delicious. I wish I had left more room for dessert options or if they offered a dessert flight. Everything was great and I highly recommend.

My former Moroccan colleague recommended this restaurant to me years ago, and I frequently enjoy eating here. MoMo's is a heartwarming immersion into Moroccan culture and cuisine. It always fills my belly and my soul. AMBIANCE: Open space dining room with a Moroccan flair - tagines, Moroccan arches, ornate plates, and camels. Your party can take a sit at one of the tables or nooks. Nooks have blankets and pillows for ultimate relaxation. Lighting is pleasantly dim with a few Moroccan lanterns overhead. The restaurant is usually pleasantly quiet. FOOD: The menu is very simple yet features the most delicious Moroccan dishes. The restaurant caters well to vegetarians and vegans, my friend used to join me for dinners (she's vegan). I prefer to order tagine (Moroccan stew) with lamb ($23) and Moroccan tea ($5 for a teapot, refillable). The two most perfectly combine. Moroccan stew is served in tagine. The meal includes a tasty salad and bread. Stew includes generous pieces of lamb, potatoes, and carrots. The stew is always so hearty. Moroccan tea is so delicious. It's a combination of green tea, mint tea, and sugar. Momo pours it in the most interesting and theatrical way. A must drink and see. The tea is served in a traditional tea pot. You'll sip it from an ornate glass. It's always perfectly steeped. The restaurant is alcohol free. SERVICE: Chef Mohammed (Momo) takes the time to socialize with guests and is incredibly welcoming. Momo shared that his dream is to retire in Morocco and live mountainside among the olive trees. So, you'll really feel the love for Morocco and learn about the culture. The service is just incredible! I highly recommend MoMo's for solo diners, couples, and groups. It provides a unique dining experience unlike any others in the city. Stop in for a hearty tagine and warm atmosphere!

(It could have been earlier but my 5 star review of this place 16 years ago is an objective starting point). Although I have spent much of the past 23 years living in various places outside of both Cleveland and Ohio, I'm a born and raised East Side Clevelander. And whenever I resettle in the area, I always find myself gravitating back to Algebra Tea House for the good vibes. In the past several months that I have been visiting, I'm happy to see the place really feels like a cultural community hub and an outright neighborhood institution. Over the years, many unique small businesses that have shuttered operations in Coventry (China Treasure House, Big Fun, Record Revolution, La Cave du Vin), Cedar-Fairmount (Nighttown). I'm so happy to see that Algebra Tea House is thriving and continuing to create a unique and inviting environment for the neighborhood. I love the unpretentious and lo-fi atmosphere and operation. I love the DIY craftsmanship that permeates in every aspect of the business. The food and beverage options are also quite good. Although I haven't been around for many years, I think maybe there are more offerings on the menu these days. I especially love the vegetable stews on their chalkboard menu and the foul madamas (fava beans). Service is lo-fi and very casual. Just place your order at the counter. It is written on a scratch pad. Sit down and be patient. The food or beverage will then be delivered to your table. Pay on your way out. While in Ohio City, I developed a craving for something on a lighter/healthier side and quickly served. I'd normally grab quick eats from the Market but it was after hours. Boaz was an ideal match. AMBIANCE: Boaz has very interesting decor - vintage retro wallpaper and pops of yellow. Very funky and fun! The cafe has kind of an L type layout with quite a few tables. There's a serving station similar to Chipotle. You're welcome to takeout or eat in. FOOD: The menu is straightforward - rolled pitas, entrees, appetizers, salads, fresh juices and smoothies, desserts, soup and beverages. Very similar to Aladdin's. If you're in an especially creative mood, try to build your own salad, bowl or entree. There's a helpful sheet to guide you through your creation - base, protein, top off, color, and dress up. It's very helpful to see all the ingredients and feels like a more non-rushed ordering process. Prices for add-one are very clear and straightforward. I ordered Build My Own Bowl adding brown rice, beef shawarma, hummus, za'atar pita chips, shredded carrots, tabouli, pickled cucumbers, pickled turnips, tahini lemon, garlic sauce, and pita. The price was very reasonable - $8.99 for a bowl and $3.25 for beef shawarma. The only ingredient that they were out of was feta cheese but I wasn't especially craving it. Overall the bowl was pretty tasty especially za'atar pita chips. I didn't particularly like a few things. Meat was shredded too small and was dry. I also have the same criticism for Aladdin's. Sauce sides (tahini lemon and garlic sauce) weren't full. The meal achieved what I was craving - light and tasty. SERVICE: The service was very expeditious and welcoming. The menu was explained to me as the first timer and ordering was easy. The order was up in probably 3 minutes, quickest prep in all Ohio City. I was blown away! PARKING: Various parking options are available in the area. Some street parking is an option but not on peak busy times (weekends and nights). Paid parking lots are available at the West Side Market and by Market Street. You can pay with QR code via phone. I'd stop in at Boaz again when craving quick and easy eats. Next time I'll focus on desserts and smoothies. I'm especially intrigued by Rejuvinate smoothie. Many cafes in the city offer a smoothie with this name, and I'd love to experience/compare this one.
