Village Nursery is a feast for the eyes with carefully thought out placement of its plants that gives designer vibes while also boasting reasonable pricing. There are whimsical bits of garden decor sprinkled throughout the outdoor shopping areas, with considerably more inside in their 'boutique'. I was able to find handmade ceramic mushrooms for $19.99 that are identical to the $60 ones we would buy at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival - such a deal! The plants are priced well for the mountains (these nurseries tend to be higher than down in the flats) and what is appreciated is that Village Nursery only stocks plants that are appropriate for the climate, unlike another local nursery I won't mention. There is a nice gift shop inside on the main floor that sells handmade textile ponchos and rugs, and attractive gifts that would work well for mountain friends. For the first time this past weekend I discovered they also have an upstairs clothing boutique featuring what I believe are handmade designs from India that are either bejeweled or otherwise adorned. I wanted Lavender and and a few other plants for my garden and they showed me where things were and answered all my questions. I love the things I bought there. The plants are in the ground now and very happy. The vase I got is so pretty. They have everything you need to make a stunning garden and they can suggest landscapers if you ask. I bought a lemon tree there some time ago and it is healthy and gives lots of lemons. I can't recall if I had it delivered or I had our truck with us, but I do think they will deliver the big trees. Parking is easy in their lot and the area is clean.

The satsuma plum tree requires something like a santa rosa plum tree to pollinate and fruit. I was also able to get 2 blackberries that I didn't get the first time (Black Satin and Triple Crown). Small business, but he is very good at advising best options, has GREAT trees/shrubs/plants in his supply, and is very reasonably priced. He also delivers and installs (for a fee, but reasonable). He is extremely knowledgeable, and doesn't mind dumb questions (I asked several). VERY nice guy. Nothing against the larger nurseries on the lake, but we loved the experience with Brian, and will be back to him in the Spring to plant more. Only open limited hours on weekends, but I believe he will take pre-coordinated appointments outside of his hours. Does deliveries/planting on weekdays. The resounding suggestion: a waterfall! We had great recommendations for Skyline Ponds as a good friend had a large one installed on her property that looked amazing. Bernie came out and eyeballed the area we wanted one installed and gave us an estimate and a basic drawing of how it would look. He gave us a price and the date the work would start, and get this - he was true to his word! The work started on time with his associate Ray who did the demolition, brought in the rocks and boulders, created the waterfall and coordinated the electrical. Ray is an absolute artist and the waterfall came out far better than we dreamed of! Ray listened when we asked for a couple tiny tweaks, including having a larger rock at the top and lighting the bottom-most pool. The speed and quantity of the recirculating water can be remotely adjusted, and we love keeping it at the strongest 'current' as the sound is so peaceful. We were extremely pleased with the cost as the enjoyment we've gained is worth far more than we paid. The time from start to finish was less than 2 weeks with very little disruption. Ray is a pleasure to work with and we couldn't be happier!

Within a few hours, they drained it, pressure washed all the river rock, cleaned out the muck and debris, installed new pump, replaced lights and filled with fresh water! Here are 2 before photos. And the after video. We love it! It sounds as great as it looks! Thank you Skyline Ponds. We are having them perform monthly maintenance so we and local wildlife will be able to enjoy our certified wildlife habitat and "Buttercup Falls" all year round!
