We dropped in this past Sunday, lovely, healthy-looking flowers. Since we live down in Zone 10, we wanted to take a look at the various flowers they offered up here in the mountains. Since the only nursery costs that I have memorized in my head is the Armstrongs in our neighborhood, it's the only reference point I have when comparing costs. Their baskets were considerably more than down where we live; however, I must mention they were GORGEOUS! Right now, they have a Geranium basket that I wish we had room for in the car; I would've certainly grabbed it if we had. Note to self... next time don't pack so many things, leave room for flowers LOL Respectfully Reviewed. read more

The nursery transforms into a snowboard shop in the winter but they still have garden supplies in the backlot. There are business sign that still say Emingers Mountain Nursery, I asked the staff member if I could check out the soil in the backlot, they refused. I asked if I could still buy soil, they said they would not sell me the soil. ??? Not willing to sell me soil cause it's February and their focus is on snowboard rentals at this time. Please change your business information to say the nursery is only active in Spring/Summer. For now, I would 100% not recommend the nursery to anyone who lives up here. read more

Pleasure to initially meet Brandon in the summer of 2017 and I was eyeing this nursery for some time as they do business with Armstrong (epic quality). Monrovia and AGC supply them. Just recently met with Brian and Shelly. Phone order placed with Jordan. Anticipate a long propituous relationship and anticipate only "VIP" level offerings. Shelly educated me on specific needs of order. Brian and Brandon were knowledgeable in latin (yes!). Used to be my favorite nursery on this hill and in this hill town; pero, peep 'dis... @lowes plants repotted in bigger pots and left to grow (w/o fertilizer) in the shade. So, my $19 plant from a big box 40 miles away in the desert, was $40 x two. I've had to leave these rose bushes out for the season and will have to plant after a frost or two (or they'll die!) Fraud; intentionally overcharged on plants 27%; $45 went to $61 Nursery Review by 25 yr + hill homeowners in Big Bear Lake. Plants not priced on container; asked for price to stay on budget; staff was annoyed but provided. When checking out only given total on receipt, knew there was a problem, I asked for detail receipt. Took them 20 minutes; very, very annoyed/upset staff. Detailed receipt came to $42; they did not want to adjust. We know operating a business in Big Bear is challenging- but this is no way to treat anyone, vacationers or locals, fraud is fraud. read more

We were in town from Utah looking for something to take home. I asked about a tree and if it would survive in Utah. He was rude and told us if we haven't seen it in Utah it's probably because it won't survive. I get it, but he could've been more helpful. He seemed like we were wasting his time. read more

Staff are always grumpy! They don't seem to be interested in my inquiries even as I've bought $500 worth of plants. Their discount starts only to 55 years old ++ people. Their smiles are very COSTLY like their flowers, shrubs and trees. Stay away from this nursery. They do not offer great customer service.! read more

I bought a Japanese maple in October of 2020. I had them install it. When I went to pick out the tree I was clear that It was for a vacation rental. The area was partial Sun and I didn't have a watering system. They said all I needed to do was plant it and water for 7 days and I'd be fine. I paid them to install the tree. I paid $1000. They told me at the time the tree was guaranteed if it died. Well, it died and they lied. Do not go here. They are a bunch of liars. read more

Terrible staff! Never go there. I went in on a slow Thursday in Jan. Only the owners of the store were inside. They were talking about no sales that day. I was not greeted when i walked in. My husband and I were looking at some glasses and were interested in some soil outside. I do understand it is winter but the female owner was incredibly rude when asked about the soil. My husband said " Are u selling soil?" Without looking at us as she started walking away she snapped "Not today". No other answer and didnt acknowledge us at all. We did want to buy other things but she refused to even look at us. Please do not shop here and hope that other businesses in big bear do not follow her example. read more

$300 Aspen started dying of a virus immediately. This tree was professionally intalled, and on a watering system. Emingers has NO GUARANTEE on any plant. Buyer beware! It is worth is to go off the mountain for your plants and get the one year guarantee from Home Depot and Lowes. Ordering from Emingers is also a joke. Brian is their only saving grace, as he is very knowledgable. read more

Youve lost me as a customer! And Im a long time local gardener. After decades of going here, there are "new" owners who dont give a hoot about you. They over-charge by deceiving people into thinking they are buying older established trees that they put in huge containers (they charge by the container size) only to find out its a small root ball and was just delivered from Oregon. They put these young trees in the largest pots they have. What a lie! And worse, they will swear up and down that certain plants come back after winter. Every one they told me I could trust has died! The prices are outrageous no matter what youre interested in. Have questions? You may as well wait an hour or two! They have the worse customer service! They will ignore you and be agitated for asking a question. They have family working that knows nothing about plants. Some dont speak English well enough to talk with if you dont speak Spanish. They dont answer their phone for days on end. They dont greet you. They dont honor any kind of exchange or return if your plant comes home and has damage, pests, or dies. They told me if you want a warranty on anything, go to Home Depot! That is a quote from the owners wife. Overall, they are an embarrassment from what used to be Emingers Nursery. So sad, but also a ripoff. Stay away! read more

Pretty good selection of plants, but don't order anything or you'll be stuck with it even if it is not what you ordered. We ordered two 4' Alberta Spruce and got 2 - five to six feet trees., which cost about $75 more each. No Guarantee on any plants or trees. Our trees died out and no help, just sorry you didn't follow our directions. No refunds, no trades, no nothing. You are better off buying from the pumpkin stores down the hill. At least they give you a guarantee. Some of the staff is oblivious to knowledge about plants. Pretty poor service to long time locals. Oh, ps the original owner, John Eminger was successful in this business because he knew how to treat and respect his customers. read more

Great selection of plants, flowers and gardening supplies. If you are looking for anything specific that they do not have, they are more than happy to order for you with no obligation, I have done this many of times. Delivery is easy if you don't have appropriate transportation for what you are purchasing.
