We needed to remove an area of dead lawn and wanted to replace it with a specific design of concrete and Mexican beach rocks. We also had TONS of wooden fence atop a 100 year old stucco wall that needed replacement. We have an odd slope to our yard, plus a pool, which makes things more challenging. Eriberto and his team were amazing with everything they did. They exceeded our expectations! We had tons of questions and concerns along the way, but we were always met with answers and confidence. No Joke, Eriberto replied to me within 10 minutes and came the same day for a quote. He gave me a fair price for what I wanted, then told me he would be back in 4 days to start the job. I had an existing walk of pavers that had been upended by tree roots and a flowerbed of unruly plants. Eriberto and his crew came in, removed the tree stump, roots and plants then re-leveled the walkway space and laid down 100+ pavers. They cleared the flowerbed, installed a new drip hose system there and planted a handful of agave plants I had. They repaired drip hoses elsewhere in my yard. They also hauled away all the mess and left things spotless. All within one day. I couldn't have asked for a better job. A wonderful crew! I was looking specifically for a contractor that is familiar with the LADWP Turf Replacement Program. It was crucial that all requirements were met for final approval. I definitely made the right choice. Eriberto and Dulce provided responsive and thoughtful service. Dulce was always available to answer questions 7days a week and Eriberto was on the site everyday and not just as a foreman but also as a designer, a consultant, a botanist and a plantsman. The team was able to accommodate every change I requested and each new addition to the project. The cost was very competitive as well. Other quotes I received was $20K-$30K above my budget. This is my first review, I read his review on Yelp and called. I have to say that I have a lot of respect for family owned business and I did inform them before posting. Elizabeth, the daughter was very responsive and Eddie/Eriberto was on time to check the issue. Being a woman I have felt that I'm always been charged more. This company went far beyond that. What bothered me after he left was how he kept repeating, "I'm professional and certified" but quoted me $500 for parts which on any site was less then $150, also lied to me by saying that I need an emergency shut off valve, an add on, beside what he had come to fix, the valve is right there and I don't need one. I'm sure he is good at what he does, but if you are a woman and asking him for a quote, be ready for double the amount. read more

Eriberto went to the property and took photos before quoting us so we appreciate his efforts in his research to get us an accurate estimate. Our company hired GNG for two big projects where we needed brush clearance on vacant lots that were 2 and 9 acres big. They were able to get the job done in 2-4 days on short notice as well. They are an honest company since we were not there to supervise on the days they did the work but Eriberto sent lots of photos throughout the cleanup. Heard back from them right away and they came out same day and gave me a quote to fix my sprinkler system. I had several valves that Nessie's replacement and low water pressure. Eriberto came the next day and worked most of the day to replace valves, found several leaks which were creating the water pressure issue and tested the whole system to make sure it worked. I installed a pool in my backyard and wanted the area landscaped to really finish it off and make it look great. I received a few quotes, but Eriberto's was the best. I had a good feeling after meeting with him that he really cared about the work, and wasn't interested in selling me more than I needed. He installed landscaping, lighting and irrigation in my backyard, giving a lot of thought to plant selection that worked in my yard, smart metering, and the end product. When he ran into some unexpected rocks while digging, he didn't charge me extra for the removal, but found a way to incorporate them into the design. I get so many compliments on my yard. He recently came back and freshened up my front yard with new irrigation lines and mulch. He even threw in a few extra plants to fill in the gaps, without me even having to ask. It really changed the look of the yard, and makes me really happy every time I look at it. On top of all of that, he works very quickly, an added plus after I've had contractors take their time and never finish. I can't recommend Eriberto, his family and his team enough. He has a great eye for landscape architecture and a real sense for what will look great, but also a deep knowledge of what goes into the construction side also. I asked GNG to clear my hillside backyard, add drought-tolerant plants, and create a path with decomposed granite and paver steps all the way down the hill. They suggested adding a flat area at the bottom of the hill, so I could add an outdoor table. They told me the project would cost $7800, including 45-50 plants. On Day 2 of their work, they said it would cost an additional $2,500; otherwise, they could not complete a path all the way down to the flat area. They said that they needed more money for wood for the path because the backyard is a hillside. I responded: they should have known that when they gave me the original price; it's not a surprise that the backyard is a hillside. I told them I couldn't go over the budget, so please don't include the flat area (i.e. just make the path go down 75% of the hill). I also asked: because they are not going to include a flat area, could they lower the total price? They said no, but they would add 10 more plants. After a week, when they said they were almost finished, I looked and the path only went down 25% of the hill. When I explained this was not the agreed-upon project, they nevertheless wanted the full $7800, got angry, and were physically agitated. The next day, they agreed to make the path go down 50% of the hill. After another week, the path did not include any paver steps and the backyard only had 45 plants. By that time, I didn't want to deal with them anymore. If I could do it over again, I would not have hired them. read more

General Native Green has been servicing my home in Silver Lake for several years now (landscaping, irrigation, trimming, etc.) - and I cannot recommend them more highly. Eriberto and his crew take their work very seriously - and they always have ideas on how to improve the property even further. I wanted a drought resist design for a small house surrounded by a small lot entirely filled with weeds. General Native Green got rid of the weeds, installed an automatic sprinkler system, installed a nice rock border in the back yard and put in plants. I decided to kill my lawn a few years ago and go with native plants and fruit trees for the obvious reasons. I had a gardener that I had inherited with my house, and he was a very nice mow and blow guy. I didn't want to let him go because, again, he was so nice, so I bought a bunch of plants and set out a plan of where everything should go. He was great with mowing and blowing, but he just didn't know how to care for anything outside that small box. I even got the most amazing book on how to care for every type of native plant imaginable, but he didn't have any interest (it was in both English and Spanish, so I was hopeful that he would embrace it). Sadly, he said he didn't need it, but I ended up losing a lot of plants. I had seen a card for General Native Green up at Theodore Payne (for anyone interested in looking into natives, I highly recommend going there), so thought I would give them a try. I wish I had used them from the beginning of my project! All of my plants are so happy and thriving -- natives, fruit trees, and the back yard where I kept everything "normal" with lawn and tons of camellia bushes and the like. When I bring in new plants, Eribierto and I have thoughtful conversations about where they will be happiest -- which is a huge relief for someone with an only light green thumb. I never have to worry about my garden anymore! I can just appreciate it every day. Oh, and they installed drip irrigation for me, which has been amazing. I've been wanting to write this review for a very very long time. I'm doing it today because we have finally just finished FIXING the work that Eriberto did on our yard. We were looking for not only someone to do maintenance on our yard but also someone to change our regular in ground sprinkler system to a drip system. We has recently taken out our yard and put in California natives. We found Eriberto and had him come and start maintenance. After each visit we would walk around the yard and see many things he would miss. Like weeds and baby agave plants popping up everywhere. Things we had asked him to take care of. Not difficult things to deal with but when we would bring this up and point it out he would say we complain too much! We went ahead and had him replace our sprinkler system with the drip system. Over and over he would show his "certificate" from the city and talk about how he was very good at this. Well now it has been almost 2 years since he did this work and over this time we have had to spend several hundred dollars more to FIX HIS SHODDY WORK! He put the bare minimum of tubing along our medium strip and then he covered it up with "mulch", free mulch from the city that was FULL of trash, bits of plastic, metal and various bolts, screws and the like. Not to mention the weeds!! When we pointed this out he laughed and again said we complain. No kidding!! He quit not long after installing the drip, could it be that he got his big ticket item and that's all he wanted? Again, he said we complain too much. Is it too much to ask to have you pick weeds, not get trash mulch and to have a drip system put in that works?? I don't thing so, especially with the amount of $$$ he charged us! Beware. read more
