Food and ambience are decent but 3% credit card processing fee added to the check?? That's ridiculous! I never had a full service restaurant charge me 3% to use a credit card. Should I deduct gas from my server's tip....no of course I wouldn't. That's the cost for me to eat there. The cost for the Stillery to take credit cards and allow their patrons the convenience, not to mention the ease and convenience for their servers, should NOT be the customer's burden. My friends and I planned a "catch up" night out and tried to give this spot a go. We arrived at 5 on a Thursday and were immediately greeted by 3 snippy "can I help you" girls. Looking around, it appeared they were at approximately 25% capacity, so we said we're here for dinner/drinks. After much looking down at their little map, one girl yelled, over the way too loud single live performer, "you can have that table on the dance floor" (with the speaker 6 feet away from your seat). I looked around and again noted that there were dozens of empty tables all over. As I looked around again, I said "we're here to catch up and have a meal and drinks, isn't there anything else that might be better for that?" We were then offered a high top immediately behind the hostess stand that we could "squeeze" in to. Since this table was a full 12 feet from the same blaring speaker, my party opted to leave. I'll never know if the food or shine is any good, because I won't be returning. There are too many other options in the area to have to negotiate for a table. Unless you are something really special, you don't have the privilege of treating patrons like they are something to be endured. read more

The big problem was we couldn't hear each other. The band was ssssooooo loud! Then when the band wasn't playing they played other music ssssssooooooo loud! Our watches kept notifying us that we were in an Excessively Loud location. I put pieces of napkin in my ears as impromptu ear plugs. They have an extensive menu, loads of t.v.s, comfortable dance floor, sweet waitress but one mixed drink costs $10.00. We had a going away party for one of our team members. We went EARLY on a Friday to ensure we had adequate seating, service etc. We arrived to find they would not put tables together to accommodate us. The manager was flippant and gave us an attitude from the start. We were seated at a 6 top, then were forced to move to another table as they would not pull up a 4 top next to us. We were then told we had to "cash" out to move to the new table (by the extremely rude server) so she could get her tip, as they did not share tips. Needless to say we quickly stated they needed to transfer our tab to the new server. Once we were moved to the new table the new server, Skylar, was amazing and took great care of us. He was the shining light in this otherwise bad experience. Quoting corporate policy (??) to not move a table is not the answer to provide stellar customer service and experience. There were so many opportunities for this establishment to wow us and they failed miserably. We will not be going again, and neither will the other 15 people in our party. Shame on you. read more

My first experiece was not great. Arrived around 9pm on a Saturday night. Got i.d. before we walked in. When we walked in no one greeted us, there was no one at the hostess desk. We didnt see a sign that said wait to be seated. So we walked around, the bar was very busy so we couldnt speak to a bartender. We saw an open table and sat down. We were sitting for 20minutes or so. Many servers walked by us but didnt stop. We finally flagged a blonde lady down and asked how we get service. She immediatley responded "we are not seat yourself you have to check in with the hostess, there are many parties ahead of you". We never told her we sat ourselves, so she clearly knew that we did before we flagged her down. She simply could have come up to us during the 20 minutes we were sitting to let us know how they handle seating. When we went back to the front there were two young male hostess that were really nice and pleasant and put our names on the list. The younger staff were more helpful and professional compared to the lady we spoke with. Food and drinks were good, nothing special. But not terrible. Portions were large. Just need more people at the front to direct customers, and nicer servers. read more

I really struggled giving them a 4 star only because the young lady this past Saturday answer the phone was pretty rude. I called in to place an order for "pick up." Apparently she couldn't hear me because its incredibly loud in there and she just said "uh I can't hear you and hung up" so I called back, miraculously she could hear me and said "we don't do call in orders for pick up, we're too busy." Uh.... Okay.... Not sure what the difference is between me calling in and order for pick up from me driving in, ordering and waiting. Either way, I am talking to an employee. Whether its on the phone or in person. I also don't mind the noise, its the atmosphere and why people come. If people can't hear, either get a booth type situation so people can hear,or headset? And if you pick up the phone and can't hear. Just simply say "I am so sorry, I can't hear you please call back" other than that, food is good, service is good. As someone who has been in the restaurant business for 10 years I hate to leave bad reviews. BUT do not waste your money. The fried pickles soggy, the jalapeño ragoons tasted like dirty fry oil, then our hot chicken sandwich was so hard we couldn't even bite it. I then decided I should tell my server as this sandwich is $20 I am hoping to at least get the sandwich we didn't eat taken off our bill. The manager came over and said I gave you a discount of...$4. We went on a Thursday and sat towards the back, away from the stage. The live music was very good and we were able to hear clearly even though we were not close to the stage. The sound level was perfect as we could still enjoy conversation at our table. The food was good and our server was pleasant and attentive. We will return again. read more

This was my wife and my first visit. Walking in we were quickly greeted and given the option of inside or outside seating. Attracted to the stage and performer we opted for a table just off the dance floor. We were very impressed with the cleanliness, atmosphere and overall ambiance. The menu provides numerous food and beverage options. Pricing is in line with todays costs. Still a bit $$$ but hey that's society right. Our server was friendly, responsive and (eventually) apologetic. I ordered the MC Burger with fries. It was great, cooked as ordered and no issues. Then......my wife's order. She got the Baked Mac & Cheese with regular (not spicy) chicken ($18.50). For those baseball enthusiasts I toss this out. Strike 1 when it came out dry like the desert. Before she ever dug in we recognized it was off and so should the cook and expediter. Being restaurant mega-enthusiasts and having worked in the industry collectively for almost 20 years, we were very nice and brushed it off. The manager came out and took care of getting it re-fired. Strike 2 when it came out with the spicy chicken. My wife can barely stand pepper so we sent it back. Strike 3 when the manager again brings out the Mac ONLY! He says the chicken is 45 seconds out. The Mac looked creamy as ever but it lacked the "Bake." It also, lacked temperature. Saying warm is a stretch, more like luc-cold. Strike 4 when the chicken came out 2-3 minutes later...and tasted like a coating of just baking powder was on it with no spice. My wife left, hungry, angry and hell-bound to raise the dead with her complaints. Did I mention I was done with my MC Burger before Strike 2? We still got charged $28.00. I'm "Still-ery" waiting for my food... we came in this evening around 5:15, we were sat right away. I have to say our servers are all very lovely, friendly and attentive. Ordered a round of drinks and apps, we were off to a good start. Ordered food around 5:30? After the first round we listened to ok music, 6:15 still no food, ordered another beer, 6:45 no beer. Everyone was very apologetic- but still no food, I think it finally came out around 6:50? That's ok if this were a high end restaurant, we had chicken, sandwich and fish. We didn't complain, even though they were apologetic. The kicker came at the end of the evening when we were brought our check after I handed who I thought was the manager my credit card - the check never came so I had to force them to take my money. The part that pissed me off the most was we were assessed a 3% "processing" fee I did question the establishment what the fee was and I was told it was to cover increase in food costs I sarcastically asked if this was a fee for sitting at a table for an hour and a half with no food. Seriously the food was meh the service although friendly was not expeditious at all. The music was meh. First, I was really looking forward to the catfish which is a signature dish. Friday night at 5pm, was told catfish was sold out, so had to choose something else. The night had just started and their signature dish wasn't available! When my second choice salad arrived, I unrolled my silverware to laugh out loud at how flimsy and cheap the knife and fork were. I've used better quality cutlery that was plastic! Quality matters and the silverware was as cheap as it gets. Then the bill came, and they charge a service fee for using a credit card! Let me start by saying this place is not my vibe. Very open but the tables a quite close to one another. Very, very noisy. The crowd seemed to trend young (20s to 40s). If you like live music and the other things don't bother you, then this might be your spot. It is unique to the North Phoenix area which makes it attractive to the right crowd. The experience with service and food was just meh. It took us a good 10 minutes to even be greeted by our server. I had to ask another server who was caring for us and she set out to find the answer to my question. Once our server arrived she was pleasant and took our order right away. We ordered as an starter the Sriracha Deviled Eggs which were quite spicy and delicious. For a meal I ordered the Catfish and Chips which came with fries and coleslaw. Not a lot of flavor going on here. The fish was nicely breaded but was nothing special. On the plate was a giant heap of fries but they were limp and ordinary. The coleslaw was not drenched in sauce which I like but was missing flavor, as well. I will say the portion was very generous. My husband ordered the Pretzel Burger. It was impossible to eat because it just fell apart but if you were able to get all of the items on a fork it was pretty tasty. It was accompanied by a smaller portion of fries, too. When paying the bill, my husband noted there were two prices...one for cash and one for credit. If you prefer to pay in cash, be prepared. This is not a place to dine on a budget. I'm glad we tried The Stillery but I'm pretty sure we won't be back. I wish them well. A few different restaurants have occupied this space and gone under. Ok interesting place, country flavored, pretty good food, live country music and infused moonshine cocktails. They also have local craft beers and a full bar. I rather enjoyed the young lady from Nashville on acoustic guitar singing country songs! There is a very nice stage! I would like to check out a country band in there sometime. We started out with Jalapeño Poppers served on a bed of Arugula- pretty good! I ordered the All American, a huge double cheeseburger that comes with a large order of string fries that are cut from fresh Russet Potatoes- I can tell. The burger was good as to be expected, I just don't need that many French Fries anymore so I brought the rest home. I ordered The Dreamsicle, made with Orange Moonshine I think, and lemon lime soda, a wedge of orange and there we're probably other ingredients in there but it was interesting and I enjoyed it. First and last time here. We were seated on the patio which had nice misters. I was scolded for bringing my little can of energy drink that I was finishing even though I ordered drinks from them as well. They threw it away. My husband's drink order was wrong and my cider was brought in a can, no glass. No water was given. It was on the pricey side, lunch for 2 with one drink each was $75. Catfish was ok, cooked well but no seasoning. Soggy limp fries. No one cared that we sat there with empty glasses after the food was served. One thing that was ridiculous is that the price on the menu is the 'cash price', if you use a card it's 3.5% more. There is a tiny sign indicating this on the front door. I know I was outdoors but the flies were awful, one got in my drink. The piped in country music was loud even outdoors. If you like country it might be fun at night, the sign said they have live music. read more

My wife and I tried The Stillery on April 15th since it recently opened, but doubt we'll be back. The waitstaff we had was very good, but we were disappointed with all of our food. We began with fried pickles, which were ok but a tad on the overly salty side. My wife had the chicken wings with house hot sauce and an order of fries. I had the hanger steak, salad and fries. The wings were pretty good according to my wife. Both our shoestring fries were soggy/limp. My steak was very unseasoned and pretty tough. I asked for medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I also could have gone without the big glob of butter on the steak. Not what we were expecting, especially with my steak for $23.00, I was exceedingly underwhelmed. read more

So like everyone else in the area we came with high hopes, looking for a great new restaurant with great food, drinks and music. I will start with the positive. Great music, ambiance and service. But I have to say we were a little disappointed in the food. I don't mind paying for good food but it needs to be good, not mediocre. We started with the wings and pretzel. The wings were dry and chewy (and $19) the pretzel was very dense. I ordered the steak sandwich. The bread was nice and soft. But other than that I was left needing something more. It had such great potential. The Arugula needed to be complimented with a more powerful flavor than the garlic aioli that was suppose to come on it. Almost non existent flavor. My wife had the chopped salad with salmon. Now I'm a big salt person but even I thought the salmon was salty. Kids had chicken tenders that were dry and the Mac n cheese. Just mediocre at best. And very very expensive. Oh, they add a $5 processing fee to your bill. Sorry Stillery but we work hard for our money and if we go out to eat and spend what we spent it better be amazing. I don't think that's so much to ask. By no means are we food critics, and we fully understand times are tough for everyone right now including business owners so I appreciate the service but the food could be so much better. read more
