The booking website promotes this gorgeous rooftop view of downtown Dallas's skyline and I was excited for that. The rooftop was closed both days of my stay. No notice or anything. This was my main draw to selecting this property. The air conditioner is only "allowed to" go down to 68 degrees. Sick of this save the planet aka save their money cooling restrictions. Is it really worth saving 50 cents a night to not allow your guests to sleep cool? The thick bedding / sheets are not breathable and I had a hard time sleeping. Only after I asked to check out early did they miraculously "get approval" to remotely reduce the room temperature by 2 degrees. What a joke. $350/night for a Holiday Inn level staffing and guest experience. The only good thing about this place is the location. Other than that I'll save my money and stay somewhere else where I'm valued.

The hotel is truly a 5-star experience, the decor and architecture was impressive. This build was originally the First National Bank Tower in 1965. Since then it has been reborn as the Thompson Dallas with several restaurants, bars and even a chick-fil-a in the build (can't access it directly in the hotel but if you exit it's right next door). I was greeted my reception warmly and was able to check-in early due to my AMEX perks. They gave me a run down of the amenities and perks I received. The entry is a large corridor that has a decorated exquisitely and festive for the Christmas season. The elevators were wide and hallways were quite spacious. The room was also nicely decorated with our own bookcase, lounge area, elongated, shower, and bathroom with great view of the city. We ate a mini restaurants at the hotel, including monarch and Little Daisy. The Little Daisy was amazing and was a part of my AMEX perk which gave me daily breakfasts of $65. By the end of the trip, the waitresses and bartenders would greet us by name and just felt like a neighborhood French Café. If you're staying in the downtown Dallas area I highly recommend staying here. The staffstaff are amazing and very accommodating, tons of restaurants and bars inside and close by. In room service with different menu options and unique treats in room (especially not at absorbent cost or price). It's really centralized and a great way to be a part of the action of the city with the elevated feel and sophistication that comes with the five star location.

We did a staycation here for one night. Being Dallas residents, it's a real treat to get to stay downtown and see the area from a different perspective. I don't mean to sound nit-picky, but in our room quite a few things were off. First, we were lacking a wastebasket. There was one in the restroom w/c, but there really should've been one in the actual room. Also, in our room, the curtains were stationary. We could not draw them to see the view of the pool below. Another headache was the led lamp on the nightstand kept flickering throughout our stay. Another issue we had was the shower head was missing some of the little rubber stoppers on the shower head, so there were some streams of water spurting in weird directions. Overall, the grand lobby sets your expectations high, but when you get to the room, there was a lack of maintenance in keeping the suite at its best.

Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. They also have happy hour specials from 4-8 PM, which is a plus. The guacamole was really good, but the cocktail was pretty basic. With Texas summers being as hot as they are, I'd love to see more fresh, hydrating juices used in the drinks to make them feel a little more elevated. It's quiet, not to busy, and even if you're not staying at the Omni Hotel a great place to grab a cup of coffee. Service - The Omni Hotel staff is very nice. Like most coffee shops, you'll place your order, customize it, and a barista will expertly craft your cup of coffee. On my visit, they asked what kind of milk I wanted (2%), and when I needed help with the Wi-Fi, they were super helpful in getting me online. 1 Star. Coffee - The coffee is nice and strong. My iced latte was smooth and had me buzzing. I had to sip it to ensure I prep for my meeting. I can't stress how awesome it is to enjoy a dup of coffee in a nice setting with an amazing view. During our visit, Adolphus hotel had a winter village festival, with ice games, cozy cabanas and chalets, together with a seasonal drinks menu and bites. So we decided to take a visit to the village festival. The interior had a dark rich oak wood interior. As you go up the escalators from the foyer, you'll see a beautiful light fixture. This takes you to the elevators on your left, which takes you up to the 7th rooftop floor without the need of a card key. There are signs to guide you to the rooftop. Staff were super friendly and greet you as you enter. Since it's been raining during our visit, the cozy cabanas kept the rain out and they had heating elements to keep you warm from the outside cold. The views were nice too, as you can partially see the lights at AT&T park opposite the hotel. There's also a little bakery/coffee shop called Otto's by the entrance where we bought some pastries and salted caramel flat milk coffee. Overall, a lovely hotel to check out and the Winter Festival will continue till the end of January, 2026. However, do check with the hotel to confirm before visiting.
