Well, over all the experience was ok. As yous know I am a chef so I'm very picky, and I review from my expertise. I can say without hesitation the draw I would have to coming back here is Liz! Her joyful attitude was contagious, and she definitely made everyone feel welcome. She was also an excellent server! As for the food, The Bistro Steak is what would cause me to return. I was disappointed that they only have baked potatoes on the weekend, as that would have given my meal four stars instead of three. Hubby's burger was "pretty good", but the sweet potato fries were not the favourite. That being said, He was glad steak sauce was brought to the table cause it made the burger better. The salad was great, (no walk in fridge taste), and their house made dressings were excellent! As for the ambiance, it isn't really my thing, but I realise it is more of a bar than a restaurant. The music is fairly loud so it was necessary to talk louder than we would usually expect to. Came here for dinner on a Friday night while we were in town for the weekend visiting parents. It hit every expectation we had for a dive bar style experience. Got the Mother Load burger and Black & Bleu steak salad, and we were not disappointed. The waitress was delightful and made us feel right at home with great service. Old number three is your standard small town bar with solid food and ambiance to match. Ample amount of random decor to check out, XL (remind me of computer chairs) at some tables for seating, kinda interesting but pro tip they're comfy af lol, decent bar food if you're really hungry and friendly staff. Went here to get food to-go the when I called in the order the lady was rushing me thru my order and didn't want to answer any of my questions witch was only two and said talk to u when u get here, I get there to pick up the food and the customer service was poor the lady was all over the place and broke a glass plate mind you they were not even that busy at all maybe had 5-6 customers in there then made a man sitting at the bar with his friends get up and take my order so I can pay, the atmosphere was not that great plus their website and reviews say "best burgers in town" and I'd have to disagree 100% that's just my own personal opinion. If I could rate this place 1-10 I'd give it a solid 3 . Came to Suncadia for a getaway, decided to venture out for lunch. Hubby been talking about going to the Old #3, so we did. I ordered cheeseburger basket. It was decent. Juicy in a nice soft but with iceberg lettuce tomato & onion. Hubby ordered burger dip. He said it was good nothing special. I think I would've added grilled onions. So... my chili was good. I got the chili bowl to go, and it tasted like a good canned chili. No better, no worse. HOWEVER, the menu both in the restaurant and online say the bowl is $5, so I have no clue why the charge was $7.53 before tip. While both prices are reasonable, the add-on is annoying and I'm not in the mood to call back and discuss. So, consider this your warning. Stopped in for breakfast last weekend as we we visiting friends. Place was very clean, service was great. Waitress was funny. I had 2 eggs bacon hash browns and toast. Very basic...I ordered a side of gravy for my hash browns. It was good roast was very lightly toasted, more like warmed bread. The bacon was crisp and coffee hot. I am not from area but any time stop restaurant clean and people are who works theare friendly. When i walked to bathroom the room in good condition smells good and no visible issues. Price: hard to tell because i stoped in few only i think it is very resonable to have dinner for 2 with appraiser and few drinks for 65 bucks it is super cheap for mill creak or seattle or Bellevue i can not judge what is income here. We haven't had a meal we didn't like. Breakfast on the weekends starts at 8 am. Eggs came out just like we ordered them. Pancakes are HUGE. We've had dinner here as well. Closed on Tues. Chicken fried steak on Wednesday night is awesome. It sells out early so make sure you are there early. read more

Once upon a time, before Cle Elum, Ronald and Roslyn got all high on their "Northern Exposure" horses and kicked all the off road motorcycle people out of the area in the early/mid-nineties and built a stupid golf course over where we used to ride -- the Old Number 3 was THE place to be. We would ride our bikes 20-30 miles along trails and drop in on Ronald. We would come in covered head to foot in mud/dust/snow. Walk in with our motorcycle boots on and set our helmets on the tables. Great big burgers and cold beer (for my dad, I was like 14 back then). After our meal we would ride over to the #3 coal pile and ride around before heading back to camp over by #9 or Bullfrog flats. It used to be a crazy mix of Harley Guys and Off-Road riders...which was pretty funny back then because the Harley Guys were all gruff and surley and the rest of us were sporting our super awesome bright florescent racing jerseys and pants...which was the style at the time. There were always a dozen or so Harleys and dirt bikes parked outside the bar. Inside there used to be hundreds of hats stapled or nailed all over the ceiling and walls. Going to the Old Number 3 is one of my fondest memories growing-up. AND the first bar I frequented as a young teenager. Apparently, after reading the other posts, the original burned down. I guess I'm not surprised, but it's still too bad because it was pretty cool. I haven't been there for over 15 years...so, it may very well suck now. But I give it four stars for the place it holds in my heart. (Awww...) But Cle Elum, Roslyn and Ronald can still suck it for kicking all the riders out of the area. Update! I wish I could give them 0 stars now.. They pulled all the dollar bills off the walls, I'm still scratching my head on that one. As I mentioned in my first review I had bills on the walls since 1995. The prices have doubled and service is now terrible! The "last" time I was in there and I do mean it will be the LAST time I was told all the changes were from new management. When we stopped in it was on our traditional "role into town hot" getting ready for the weekend. I should of known something was up when there was only three cars in the parking lot on a Friday night. Long story short, this place now SUCKS and don't bother going further to the last resort, it's even worse! Maybe the Brick is still the place to be if you want to risk getting busted in the "lions den." Be careful driving in Roslyn and Ronald, the cops are everywhere! read more

Went here for breakfast/lunch with my family. We were on vacation and were on our way home but decided to grab a bite before hitting the road. Outside is a big sign that says they serve breakfast. My younger siblings pointed to it as soon as we drove by it. As you walk to the front door, there's a note that says no persons under 21 are permitted after 9 pm. Noted, it was about 10:30-11 am I believe. But to sum it up, it's definitely not a very family-friendly and tourist-friendly spot. Yes, there is a dining room but it isn't the place to go have meals with your family. Immediately as we walked in, there was a dull stench of alcohol of some sort and we were given glares by the old men at the bar. One guy at the bar, probably a regular, made us feel like we were really unwelcomed and were intruding. The waitress looked surprise to see us as if she hadn't seen customers in a group before. She was nice and polite though, she sat us down and gave us our menus. Again, the guy at the bar wouldn't leave us alone, he kept looking at us at our table. He then utters something to the same waitress we had who was now making his drink. I hear her respond, "Give them their space!" It was really uncomfortable. *Food: Not bad. American. Burgers. Endless fries. Soup. Coleslaw. Chicken strips, etc. *Environment: Not family friendly. Dim lighting. Drunk old men. Rednecks. Dollar bills on the walls, ceilings, lights, every surface (which I thought was pretty cool). *Service: Good. This place is exactly what you'd expect it to be. It's a bar in (pretty much) the middle of nowhere. I went with a large group of dudes for a bachelor party and actually spent more time talking/tipping beers with the locals than with my buddies. The owner came by our table at least 3 times to crack jokes and make sure we were taken care of. Our server was also very good; she split the check for 18 guys and didn't complain a bit. If I could express how fun country dive bars are... They have all sorts of hats and dollar bills on the wall (similar to the style at Beths cafe with all of the drawings around). The kicker, the bakroom is the bra room... Many a dozen bras lay nailed to the ceiling. If it's on the menu, get the meatloaf sandwich. Figured I'd get the important information out there in case you didn't read the whole review. FOOD This place is as good as it gets. The first time I came here, I had the Deluxe burger and was pleasantly surprised. One of, if not the best burger in the Cle Elum/Roslyn/Ronald area. These guys know their burgers, nothing fancy, just a well cooked, well assembled and well presented burger. The second time here, I forced myself to try something different as it was way too easy to get hooked on the burgers, so I had the fish and chips. Again, simple but done to perfection. Once again one of the best, if not the best fish and chips around. Third time, I asked Shannon for a suggestion and she suggested the Meatloaf Sandwich. Wow. I'm still trying to figure out how Shannon grilled the sourdough bread to make it so light and crispy without leaving it greasy. The flavor was incredible, but it was the preparation that elevates this from a mere sandwich to a fine dining experience. SERVICE Ever been to a restaurant that made you feel so at home, that you instinctively wanted to take your dishes to the kitchen? This place is that comfortable. On each visit, the staff welcomed me not as a customer, but as a guest and ensured I was comfortable and well taken care of. Attentive, without being intrusive, the interaction with the staff went beyond the mere question and answering normally found at restaurants and elevated to an actual conversation. On my third visit, I purposely chose an out of the way seat in the bar area and kept a low profile. Shannon saw me sitting in the corner and came from the kitchen to see if I had been helped. She was genuinely concerned that I had been sitting there without service. Even the bartender/proprietor Scott came from behind the bar to ensure that I was taken care of. I felt somewhat guilty, having hidden in the corner after seeing the consternation this caused the staff. The graciousness of the staff continued after the meal. Shannon, who was on a break, made it a point to call out to me as I left to thank me for coming in, and to wish me a good day. ATMOSHPHERE Warm, friendly and inclusive. There were four or five regulars at the bar jovially giving Scott grief and Scott was giving it right back. We all had a good laugh at Scott's (a.k.a. Larry) expense but it was all good natured and fun. It is a rare establishment where even the regulars want you to share in their revelry. PRICE Inexpensive. I purposely did not use the word "cheap" as there is nothing cheap about the food, the service and the overall quality. The food and drink prices are way below the area's average, their burgers priced 50% less than an inferior burger at nearby establishments, same thing for the fish and chips and the sandwich. It is a rare to have such great food, a cold beer and friendly service for under 20 bucks. CONCLUSION The Old #3 is a fine establishment that would be successful in any big city with its great food, extremely reasonable prices and fantastic staff. Really wonderful place to hang out and watch games, play games, or get pickled! Easy company, a nice mellow mix of left and right, I love it! Music and dance nights are wonderful, I've been to a community fund raiser, honestly - talk about a place that helps build up a community. It's been two years since my last visit to the Old No 3 and the food was just as awesome as always! As a local, I am so pleased that they re-built the No 3 after it burned to the ground in 2002, but I have to note that they never got the old ramshackle atmosphere back. You just can't get the right "redneck" feel in a bright, well-light modern building! Still, the food was amazing (as always!) and the place was fairly steady for a Thursday night. (Loads of locals; it's great seeing that the same old folks are still there!) I had a bacon cheese burger; Dad had the Mother Load burger; Mum had the Captain's Plate. I couldn't manage all of my fries but Mum and Dad managed to nearly clean their plates. I was disappointed in the beer selection, but this is because I've been living in Scotland where I am spoilt for choice. For a small-town, local bar and grille, the beer selection was probably great! (I'm just a beer snob.) I had a bottle of IPA that I won't recommend ... Service was great and the place was quiet enough to chat.
