House Of Gainz - I don't think this is usable or safe....

The name of this place. Horrendous…read more... But pretty good gym for the price. The equipment selection is very vast. It's never insanely busy here even during lunch and after work hours. So you will always hone an area or machine freed up for you. My only complaints is that they blast booty rap really loud through the speakers. Like the loudest gym ever where you can barely hear the people at the front desk when speaking to them. Other times they will play butt rock which is just a tad more tolerable. Some may not survive without head phones. The men's bathroom is not the cleanest. Always smells. If you are a sauna user. It is also just mid. My other bigger complaint is that the heavy bags upstairs are unusable. They hung em on chains so high that they are pretty much unusable and they run into the ceiling frame. Kind of a safety issue on that part..... Other than that, better than most other gyms in this area of the price point

DONT GO HERE, shitty staff AND DIRTY. I'm a gym fiend, I…read morelike to go to the staples and try out what they got. Worst experience I've ever had with gyms. Don't even ask for trial passes and one week pass. Same price as the membership. This place is just trying to bleed you of money. They don't care about the gains like their name states. Day 1 when I tried signing up I arrived at 6am, stood at the front desk for nearly 20min with no one around. Turns out dude was in the restroom making TikTok's. Signed up, no tour, no info on the gym, no idea what he was even really doing. Day 15 I walked in to the gym, signed in. Walked past front desk, went to warm up and forgot my water bottle in my car. Went to grab it then came back in. While I was walking back in the front desk dude yelled with insane attitude "hey sign in" I replied I already did, maybe if you weren't on your phone looking down when I walked in the first time you would have known. I am all for understanding, but you raise your voice at me like that? Not my jam, but I kept it cool cause I just took some pre and figured I was just raging from the pre. But it pissed me off and ruined my lift for that day. Day 25 they don't seem to know which is a standard for their foam roles or straps. One person lent me the foam roles, another person required an item to check it out. I attended this gym for maybe 3 or 4 month and went right back to BigTex cause this gym sucked. They say 'Mecca' or whatever but this place is Mecca crap. Scummy management, save your money. Go to BigTex, MetroFlex or even Fitness Connect. Prices are similar. Loud music, and when I say loud you have noise canceling headphone on and you still hear their gyms music. Dirty! cleaning staff is there but somehow it's still nasty, dried sweat on the window for months on end. "Ohh it's busy" I drew an 8 on the door with my sweat and it stayed there for nearly a month. I'd rather be at metroflex with the weight outside in a barn basically. Restrooms never seem to be working properly, one of the showers is always running. Yet no one is in there. Haunted or busted water system? Final review it's a NEW gym but somehow feels like it's already 4 years old. Cool equipment, shitty staff, shitty management, shitty deals, shitty across the board. Yet they are EXPANDING and making ANOTHER gym? Focus on one make it awesome, then start another. Money grubbing at its finest

I've been a member at this location for two years, and what happened on Sunday, December 7th has…read moreconvinced me to cancel my membership. I started my morning as usual -- a workout followed by time in the steam room. While walking from the bathroom area, I accidentally placed my jacket on a chair without realizing it was near someone else's belongings. The individual began shouting profanity at me from across the pool/hot tub area. I immediately apologized multiple times, but the yelling only escalated. Thinking he might not have heard my apology clearly, I walked closer to make myself understood. Instead, he moved toward me with his hands up in a fighting stance, even though I was apologizing repeatedly. Feeling unsafe, I backed away to the locker room and called my wife so we could leave immediately. At the front desk, things escalated again. The same individual followed me, caused a loud scene, and then walked toward both me and my wife with his hands still raised as if preparing to fight while shouting at us. This was extremely frightening. The staff stepped up to the counter, but no one said anything or intervened, which made the situation feel completely uncontained. What concerns me most is that management has not contacted me at all about this incident, despite how serious and disturbing it was. Over the past year, I've also noticed an increasing number of individuals who appear to be using this facility as a place to linger rather than to work out. This location seems to be struggling with how to manage that, and it has led to multiple uncomfortable or unsafe encounters -- including this one. What makes this even more disappointing is that I had a very similar experience at another 24 Hour Fitness location in Austin last year. Between both incidents, it feels like member safety and conflict management are not being handled consistently across their facilities. Between this incident, the declining cleanliness (including mold upstairs), and the overall drop in atmosphere, it's disappointing to see how far this gym has gone downhill. This used to be a peaceful place for me to work out, pray, and meditate -- but I no longer feel safe returning.

Don't judge a gym by the cover. This place is tucked away in an older business park, but once you…read moremake your way inside you'll find one of the coolest gyms in Austin. They have plenty of machines, free weights, cardio equipment, sauna, towel service, a bunch of classes (boxing, HIIT, MetCon, yoga, cycling, etc.), turf area, sleds and recovery equipment like theraguns (for the guns ). Oh, it's also 2 stories with 4 indoor batting cages upstairs.

I've been going to HIT for a couple of years now and have really enjoyed it, but the last year,…read moreunder a new Director of Operations, has brought noticeable decline. Several great coaches have left, and in some cases, their replacements have been extremely underwhelming. I've heard consistent complaints from both coaches and members about the new manager, and unfortunately, the recent changes only reinforce those concerns. One of the biggest disappointments is the decision to eliminate cycle classes. From what many of us understand, management based this decision on the attendance of just one class that regularly had only one or two participants, a class coached by someone most members actively avoided. Meanwhile, the cycle classes taught by the stronger coaches were always at least half full, sometimes more. Yet despite months of rumors, management waited until this month to inform the cycle coaches that their classes were being cut. Completely unacceptable. One of HIT's strengths was the ability to combine HIT classes, turf workouts, and cycle for a balanced fitness routine. Removing one pillar of that variety makes the gym far less appealing. In place of cycle, they're adding a "wellness" area offering services such as IV therapy, infrared saunas, etc., services already widely available in Austin and definitely not something most members I've talked to plan to use, especially since they'll cost extra. They're also introducing Pilates, but we haven't been told if those classes will also require an additional fee. Given the high cost of Pilates equipment, most of us assume they will. On top of that, Pilates appeals to a very specific audience, and it's unclear how this fits with the gym's current member base or identity, especially in a market already saturated with Pilates studios. Across the board, members feel these decisions are being made based on what the manager wants, not what members actually value. We were never surveyed or asked for input on what changes we would support. Adding to the confusion, the gym has a large upstairs area with batting cages, and we've been told they plan to build out new rooms up there. If that's the case, why not simply move cycle upstairs instead of eliminating it? None of these changes make sense from a business standpoint, and I don't see how they'll recoup the costs. I already know multiple members who have left because of these decisions, and many more, myself included, are reconsidering their membership. It's incredibly disappointing to see member feedback ignored while the gym shifts in a direction few people asked for and even fewer will benefit from.
