I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this spot since the menu is incredibly eclectic...everything from sushi, vegan dishes, jambalaya, steak, pad thai, duck, to jerk chicken. It's basically a chef's dream, but I wondered about the consistency and turnaround of such a varied menu. Luckily, I found them on Groupon, which turned out to be a fantastic deal...about $17 for a $40 voucher, so we saved quite a bit considering how much we would have otherwise spent. I highly recommend making reservations in advance, especially since they're located in an art studio setting and even have a live singer at night, which adds to the atmosphere. The seating was a bit quirky literally, I almost fell off my chair once (oops!), but the service was great and attentive throughout. For our meal, I ordered the diver scallops, and my partner had the ribeye. We also shared the vegan heart of romaine salad, which was fresh and flavorful. I have to say, the food was absolutely delicious, well-executed and full of flavor. The vibe was lively yet cozy, and we ended up in the second room with no live music =( still it was perfect for a romantic, quiet evening. If I lived nearby, this place would definitely be a monthly go-to for me. It's a unique spot with great food, a creative menu, and a wonderful atmosphere, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special night out!

Such a quaint restaurant with local art pieces as decor that's also for sale! The soup was amazing and had great depth of flavor! It had this kick that really made this soup stand out. Must try. Portions are huge and would recommend the lamb! The daily check came with broccolini that was smoky and crunchy and the mashed potato was incredibly creamy. Very nice dinner.

Very beautiful interior all table are surrounded by unique artwork. The wine list was very good with special wines for the night. Servers are numerous and very attentive. You have an option to sit inside or outside. Our food selections were Cajun Bone-in rib eye with cheese on top. It was fine but the cheese didn't really work with it. The grouper was excellent. Overall fun night

Amazing! What a treat it was to have some exceptional vegan food on Hilton Head Island. We were pleasantly greeted from the moment we stepped through the door. The staff made us feel so welcome throughout the evening. The food and dining experience was so elevated it was really remarkable. Everything we had just felt like it was prepared with care and attention to detail. I enjoyed the grilled Caesar salad, and the "Hippie-Loaf" a vegetable & lentil loaf with rosemary-red wine sauce, harvest risotto, and broccoli rabe. My wife had the soup special and the 'Steak & Mushroom Crepes filled with seitan steak bits, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, a carrot-ginger purée & topped with a wasabi aioli drizzle. We finished our meals with something sweet. A blueberry crumble ala mode with vanilla oatmilk icecream and a rich chocolate cake with acai icecream. Sooooooo good, seriously, wow! The restaurant was beautifully decorated with lovely paintings. I loved the one of the mermaid, beautiful! As a Navy sailor this one really impressed me. We really had a great evening to celebrate our 20th anniversary.

What wonderful place to have nice romantic dinner. We tried some vegetarian dishes and it was so good. Gavin was wonderful. He took time to help us decide what to have. Service was definitely excellent. It is worth a visit. It's a dining experience. A must when you are in Hilton Head.

Such unique flavors - from cocktails, to appetizers, to mains! Quiet, personalized experience. We always visit when we are on Hilton Head Island.

We had a good experience at this location recently when we were on Hilton head Island. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the Argentine strip steak. Both were quite tasty. Gavin, our server, couldn't have been nicer and helpful in collaborating with the chef to ensure that everything was GF.

Run, don't walk to this place for an unforgettable culinary experience! The inside space is quaint and cozy and we were made to feel welcome from the start. There are many pescatarian and vegetarian entrees from which to choose and a variety of flavors to excite your palate. Every bite from start (including the herb infused bread with garlic olive oil) to finish was delicious. This is a must go-to on HHI.

Fantastic food. I can't say enough good things about it. It was great with lots of vegan and gluten-free options too. They were very accommodating with our large group and everything on the menu looked good.

This place really surprised me! The menu seemed all over the place, and I thought the self-described "artistic dining experience" seemed kind of gimmicky. However, it had fantastic reviews on here that really enticed me. This goes to show that Yelp usually knows best! This place was fantastic. I was first brought out bread and butter, very tasty. I started out with the escargot ala maisonette. It came over these really tasty sweet potato-type rings. The escargot itself was really well-made and well-flavored. For the entree I was so happy that the daily special was a sort of sampler platter. I got to try small portions of the grouper, the filet, and the lamb rack rogan josh. All of them were delicious! I especially liked the filet and the lamb. It came with broccolini and mashed potatoes. It really was all wonderful. The restaurant is pretty swanky too! The artwork inside is BEAUTIFUL and for sale, so I'll definitely be back to scope some pieces out. Really fantastic experience, I would highly recommend!

    Really fun glassware!

How is this place, from quality of food perspective?

I think it's very good for the area. I live in Manhattan and frequent many top fine dining restaurants. This is not the same level as the best restaurants in Manhattan, but among the best in Hilton Head.

I love Mediterranean food, no matter where from, and know that every type is just a little different. We started with a shepherd's salad and server, without asking, had it split in the kitchen. So nice and thoughtful. The salad had great flavor and my husband and I loved it. We would have both preferred slab feta or even crumbled feta instead of shredded feta. Personal preference but we still loved it and we could taste the feta, so it wasn't a deal breaker. My husband has the lamb. He loved it. It wasn't a plate full of rice, which he also appreciated. The pricing was reasonable and the lamb was cooked perfect. I had the Falafal sandwich. I would have preferred tahini vs tzatziki but it was tasty. The Falafal was a little mushy for my palate but still good. They came with steak fries - my favorite kind of fry! We ended with the baklava. Every baklava we have ever had is different and we LOVED it. I was so full and was only going to have 1 bite, but that wasn't my story. Our server was amazing. She was friendly and helpful. She asked where we were from and recommended a few restaurants in South Florida for us to try. The restaurant can be fancy or casual - your choice. They made us feel welcomed and we enjoyed our meals. We would definitely go back next visit to Savannah - and there will be many more trips if our daughter ends up going to SCAD.

While I'd advise you to slip staying in the hotel where this restaurant sits, the restaurant itself (and the other one downstairs, fleeting) were bright spots in an otherwise lackluster hotel stay. We enjoyed breakfast here a few days. The service is fantastic (we saw Miranda a couple times and she made us feel like regulars, remembering our order and offering some sight seeing tips), all staff was friendly, fun and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is well done, with a Mediterranean influnce. We enjoyed the shakshuka (highly reco you add the kefta and ask for oven bread instead of the sourdough) and the Turkish eggs (also reco asking for the oven bread with this one), both dishes were flavorful and well executed (and we try shakshuka everywhere we see it!) We also had evening snacks one night and enjoyed the hummus with the mushroom add on and some of their signature drinks. Staff In the evening was also strong and didn't disappoint. If we ever find ourselves back in Sav we won't stay at the hotel Thompson but we will stop into Bar Julian!
