Summit used to be the go-to place for Easter Brunch. We went in 2025 and it was HORRIBLE. Honestly, he only edible thing were the scrambled eggs. The French toast sticks were certainly out of a frozen box, the fruit was soggy, the carving station meat, tough. We immediately decided we would not go back and, not surprisingly, they are now closed. My observation over the years is that they pack people in without enough staff to help, because we were seated after a very long wait even tho we had a reservation, and then we never saw the server again. We eventually got up and helped ourselves to the food. Such a shame. I had given a very nice wedding shower there back in 2010 or so. Easter brunch... Folks stay away from this place. Without question the worst dining experience I can recall. The food was "okay" at best. Nothing I'd tried was worth trying again. Nothing offered was hot. Nothing! It was warm at best. This brunch was $40 per person. I could of had a better meal at Culvers. Again, seriously. The food was NOT good. Service? What service? I didn't know we had a waiter (seriously) until we were ready to leave. We were not once checked on, asked if we wanted a drink, nothing. So, he brings the bill, and I give him my card. Like always, I leave the tip in cash. He had the gall to ask if I forgot to write a tip in on the charge bill. This is only the second time in my life I have left a review. Just had the drive thru Cod dinner. The best it has been in a long time. The fries tasted different and very good. The fish is why we have kept coming back for years. Curiously, the lines in the drive thru have been minimal since they removed the neon sign showing the way around the building. It wasn't put back after the roofing was replaced. My first visit to The Summit to celebrate my husband's birthday. We went on a weeknight and sat in a cozy booth. He ordered the Filet and it was cooked to perfection. He let me taste one bite and it melted in my mouth. I ordered the salmon filet and was delicious. I started with the lobster bisque which was broth based with chunks of lobster. They have a full wine/cocktail offering. I really appreciated their wine menu with a little "cheat sheet" explaining all the wines and the order of their sweetness-dryness. Aside for the amazing food was the service. Service was EXCEPTIONAL. We were greeted warmly by Olivia who welcomed us and seated us promptly and came back to check on us. Our server Avanti was amazing. She had a friendly demeanor and checked back with us several time. We loved the fresh bread and "secret recipe" dipping sauce. It's been a long time since I've been greeted with complimentary fresh bread and the most amazing dipping sauce. We could not help ourselves we ate a 2nd loaf. Because it was a Birthday we had to sample 2 of the desserts. The chocolate chip cookie in a skillet served warm with vanilla ice cream was so good but it was a hard to say if it was better than the mile-high cheesecake made from scratch. Wow...If you wanna taste the salt of the ocean then the fish fry here will hit that mark! Waaay too salty! The fish fry used to have decent size pieces of fish a few years ago and now it's flat and doesn't even stack up to 1 piece from Culvers which is sad given the price Summit charges. The coleslaw was boring and the 1/2 dixie size cup of tartar sauce was nowhere near enough to cover up the salty fish. Let's face it...at this point the fries were better and never really needs to be mentioned. NO Lemon slices and NO butter for the bread...but the 2 thumb size slices prolly didn't matter anyway. The food was delicious and the service was great until we paid our bill. Once we paid the bill the waitress forgot about our table. We were drinking, having dinner and we needed a "take out" container, we couldn't find the waitress. The restaurant was near closing and we couldn't find anyone in the restaurant other than another table with customers. We waited for 30 minutes before I decided the call the restaurant on my cell phone. I called and the waitress comes out of nowhere. I got up to wave to her and she just keeps walking by. I chase after her only to find her sitting in the dark, in another room and she was on her phone. The presentation of the food was disgusting! Fruit not cut correctly, prime rib looked like they slid it out the bag with the slime, eggs were fake eggs, waffles were frozen eggos! Maple syrup was like water when maple sugar is supposed to be thick! Lots of food on the floor...even the kids didn't eat it! 40 bucks a plate for food that I wouldnt feed my dog! The smoked bacon was the only thing I could stomach to eat! Then I took my 90 year old grandmother to the bathroom were she almost fell because the toilet was so low. Had i not been with her she wouldnt have been able to wipe herself because the toilet paper wasn't anywhere to be found ...it was behind her on the back of the toilet, there was no purse hook in the bathrooms either..when asked by staff if we would be back the answer of course was NO! We gave our reasons and were met with a young man who felt it more important to defend this establishment with a major attitude rather then take constructive criticism! We were a party of 17 and EVERYONE was disgusted! The service by the pregnant young woman was amazing.. unfortunately she works at this place...she could be making so much more money if the patrons were happy w their food! Went for Thanksgiving dinner with my family. Reservations were useless, but we had them. They were busy and like every restaurant in town, they were tight on staff. But, as is true of many restaurants in our town amongst others everywhere, they bust their tails. Hard work and the inevitable impatience that others seem obligated to point out, didn't stop the small team that they had. Dinner was good, two of us had turkey special and two had steaks. The steaks were beautiful and tasty to say the least. Not to be overly critical, as the product portions of the turkey dinners seemed small for the price of $31.00 each. This was my first visit back to Summit Restaurant in a long time. I wasn't sure what to expect. Had it lost it's luster? Was it still popular? Was the cuisine still tasty? I LOVED it! The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. He was smiling and gracious. He said they were a bit busy and suggested we have a drink in the bar. (We did not have a reservation.) The bar/lounge area is dark and cozy. With warm lighting, a fireplace and lit bar surface, the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. There are 3 small rounded booths, which enables diners to have full meals without going into the main dining room. The bartender was a young guy who was very busy. He remained calm and friendly. He apologized for the wait and was quite personable. They offer 4pm-6pm Happy Hour with daily drink specials. Monday was $6 martini night. Yes! We enjoyed Strawberry Lemon Drop Martinis with fresh strawberries. For dinner we shared bacon wrapped water chestnuts, a filet, airline chicken, red potatoes and grilled asparagus. Then creme brûlée for dessert. All dinners come with soup or salad and a side. I still love this restaurant after all of these years. I wrote this restaurant this email regarding the quality of the Mother's day brunch I took my mom to Sunday the 8th of May, 2022. I had been waiting for some sort of response, but to no avail so I am posting the email here so that I can perhaps get some sort of response from management or ownership. To whom it may concern, In an effort to provide my mom a great experience for her special day, I asked her to decide where she would like to go for a memorable brunch/lunch. She chose your establishment as we had been there for Mother's Day a few years ago and she really enjoyed the experience. I don't usually reach out to places if I've had a substandard experience when dining as there are usually some saving graces within the visit that will make up for whatever downfall. This time however, there was nothing saving today's visit. To start, we had a reservation for the afternoon but had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes past the reservation while other parties were seated ahead of us. After being seated, my mom asked our server if the brunch buffet menu was the only thing available to choose from as she was hoping to order the duck. We were told that the brunch menu was our only option which we understood, but feel that should be indicated when placing the reservation. Our server was fairly gracious when explaining this but unapologetic.  When we decided to peruse the selections, all of the items that were available looked as if they had been in the chafers or under the heat lamps for some time, were lukewarm, and generally unappetizing. Some options were unavailable such as the tempura chicken and the vegetable medley. The prime rib was extremely fatty and flaccid, the garlic mashed potatoes were goopy, the one bites or tapas style starters looked as if they had sat there since the a.m., and the dessert table was riddled with pre-prepared items that could have been found at the local grocery store freezer. Having worked in the food service industry for over 30 years, I am embarrassed for you. I am also embarrassed and upset with myself that I didn't grab my mom's hand and walk out to find somewhere else to patron. It is quite obvious to me that your restaurant has declined in quality and service. I will have a hard time giving your establishment any more chances to impress and would appreciate a partial if not full refund to make up for this visit that is memorable for all the wrong reasons. I've eaten at the summit a few times although haven't been there in a while. The food was pretty darn good. Steak sandwich is excellent! One of the worst meals I have ever paid for. I took my family to Summit for Thanksgiving. My wife and I ordered the turkey dinner. It was a flavorless and mine was served luke warm. For $31.00 , I was provided with white and dark turkey, what I assume were mashed potatoes, a butter cup of cranberry sauce. The dark meat was was tough and the white was bland. I did eat the white meat as I was hungry. I did enjoy the coffee.. Under no circumstances, would I ever return nor recommend this restaurant under any conditions.. read more

STOP IN FOLKS...SUPPORT LOCAL!!! We just moved to Mount Pleasant a year ago. And don't want to drive to Kenosha or Milwaukee all the time for dinner. For our Anniversary we visited The Summit. They are the ones with the fancy video sign on Washington. We had the prime rib Saturday night special. Soooo Good you almost don't need a knife!!! Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Appetizer was French onion soup which was delicious as well. The decor Is modern and there is a colorful painted cartooney artwork on panels that is more distracting than interesting. I was not a fan. The waitstaff were mature and professional. They take a good while to make your dinner so don't be shy about the bread or definitely order an appetizer. After 1.5 yrs of not going because of a bad experience my husband and I decided we'd go through the Friday fish fry drive through and try it again. After 15 min wait in line and got our order One Cod dinner and One Perch dinner. We planned to eat in the car, no silverware no napkins. The tartar sauce had horseradish in it the 2 slices of bread together were smaller than 1 regular slice no butter for the bread and the coleslaw was not cold. Got engaged in this restaurant's parking lot. The food took over 40 minutes for a shrimp appetizer to arrive and even longer yet the entrées. My steak was over cooked, which I complained about but did not send back because waiting over 90 minutes after ordering my food only for it not to be correct, I was not going to keep waiting. THE MANAGER left, and returned then TOOK MY PLATE AND HELD IT UNDER THE DUSTY LIGHT AND A FLASH LIGHT TO SHOW ME I WAS WRONG ABOUT MY MEDIUM STEAK. We've been married for almost 10 years. We've NEVER been back and never will. An y function I've been invited to here has been declined. I'll never spend another penny in this place. If thay manager hadn't screwed it up so badly, I'm sure we'd have been back regularly to celebrate our anniversary. The Silver Bullet Steak Sandwich has changed just like everything else. It's very unfortunate because we loved the steak sandwich. The steak meat is now Tri-Tip. There are only a couple of ways to cook it so it does not turn into a chew fest. Grilling and pan fry. Not a meat that I would ever purchase. The flavor of the meat taste like fresh dirt. This meat is popular in California and just has become popular with online sales. Back to the steak sandwich.... Please make it with the original meat. Practice making it excellent again. It was lacking flavor on the sauce and the bread. A total disappointment. We had some other sides that were meh and missing authentic flavor. We are referring to the street corn. Its missing an ingredient and there is too much liquid. Tastes mostly like cilantro and lime. There was no depth of flavors. We also had the french fries.... cold amd soggy. Second time at The Summit in Racine. Food has always been great. Tonight I had the Battered Cod Fish Fry and my wife enjoyed Parmesan Crusted Chicken. The fish was really good, I've also had the breaded fish fry but I prefer the battered. The service is always excellent and you are never rushed. I really enjoy the variety of breads you get at the beginning of the meal rather than just one bread. The olive oil, Italian seasonings and parmesan cheese that's on every table goes great with the breads too, it's a nice touch. The decor is always seasonal and the main dining area is very attractive. I appreciate The Summit and we will continue to come here! read more

His is my go to restaurant whenever I am in town. Usually an fine dining restaurant with food quality of fair to better standards. They have a nice outdoor dining. The restaurant is facing Hwy 20. So the scenery is not exceptional but on the other have the location is convenient. The ambiance is exceptional. My go to dishes are crab cakes with a lobster bisque appetizer. I have to eat here a lot, because it's my mom's favorite, and she's my mom, so... I've had a good handful of their dishes, and they're all quite good. The fish fry, the ribs & the Parmesan crusted chicken are all very good. My mother swears by the salmon. I tend towards the tuna tataki, which comes with a trio of sauces, two of which, I would be buried in. The French onion soup is spot on, as well. The staff really go beyond for you... As a huge foodie, and lover of great food regardless of the price, I have to say this is one of the worst dining experiences I have had in Southern Wisconsin. The cost is expensive, the food mediocre including sides served cold, the customer service and wait staff ineffective and the on-duty manager could not be bothered with our concerns, including being served for the first time, two hours after our reservation. I normally don't high 5 (star) many places but there was nothing that disappointed me here! The cocktail, wine list and menu have something really good for everybody. Cooked and seasoned perfectly my scallops were as good as any I have had and I grew up on them. If it's decor your after it's not your hipster wood and cheeky art gastric pub but more of a disco, that had class. We loved Summit! My husband and I both had the specials. My pork chop was excellent and the sauce was amazing. The sweet potatoes with apples and squash was to die for. My husband loved his steak, that was made to perfection and served on a bed of creamy potatoes. The bacon wrapped chestnuts with a maple glazed was the the start of a fantastic meal. We finalized our meal with the lemon cake which was light and fresh and the apple Carmel cheesecake - both were amazing. We also had excellent service by Kristin. My husband also said the wine was really good and went very well with his meal. It is a little pricey but you really do get your monies worth here. The decor (and the bathrooms) are a little odd but didn't affect the food at all so we weren't phased by it. We can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!!! read more

We visited The Summit Restaurant very hesitantly. After reading some previous reviews we thought we could be walking into a dive but ultimately decided we should just try it ourselves. Our waitress, Sharon, was an absolute delight. Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We started our meal with crab cakes, while the cakes themselves were very good. What put them over the top was the sauce that came with it! We upgraded our salads to Cesars, you have the option of getting anchovies or not. Very nice to have the option. The salad was huge, much larger than you would expect. A nice surprise. My husband had the prime rib and baked potato, it was VERY tasty and cooked to perfection! I had the junior filet and rice pilaf. The only reason why I'm taking 1 star away is due to my steak was lacking a little in flavor but the rice was very tasty!! All around we would definitely come back again and recommend if you haven't given Summit Restaurant a try, do it! read more

Thursday Night Dinner & Drinks for Two. Do not let their name fool you, "The Summit" is definitely not the apex of fine dining. Although they make it look like they are trying, with their dressed up waitstaff, tasty bread basket, and upscale pricing, the overall execution is lackluster at best. Our waitress was very confused, did not understand the specials while explaining them to us, and just seemed inexperienced. (I can let this go, if by chance it was her first night) My martini came in a large glass, with extra olives, ultra chilled, and overall fantastic. Maybe my first impression was wrong, and it would be an alright place after all! Those hopes were almost immediately shattered when the bus boy kept trying to take our bread basket while we were still enjoying it. My wife's soup arrived and from across the table I could smell poor quality canned tomato soup (their minestrone). She was not impressed. My Caesar side salad was a nice attempt, but drowning in garlic and pepper. Our entrees came just in time to rescue us from the soup and salad. My wife had ordered a fillet, which she rated as "OK". I ordered the blackened swordfish what a mistake. Now, I love spicy food, but this was over the top. Heavily seasoned blackened swordfish with a disastrous "Spicy Creole" sauce. (More like salsa with a cup of chili powder dumped on it). For possibly the first time in my dining lifetime I scraped everything off off the swordfish and attempted to enjoy the undercooked fish on its own. The only upside to our entrees, was a refill on my Martini, which again was fantastic. We ordered dessert, which was another mistake. I had the vanilla bean cheesecake, which was clearly from a box. My wife attempted to order one thing after another, finding that they were out of just about everything (fairly ridiculous for a Thursday evening) She settled on some sort of chocolate cake which again was edible, but nothing to rave about. I suppose I could have made this a lot simpler from the get go and just written my final thoughts. GREAT Drinks, Poor Food, Sad Service. If you need a Martini after work, and maybe an appetizer, go for it. If you're in the mood for a nice dinner, keep driving. read more

This is the worst corned beef and cabbage I have ever had. I suppose for $16 it is a good price tag to remind me to never eat at this restaurant ever again. Every once in a while I try The Summit, because to be quite honest, I love the idea of an old supper club; but every single time, I leave either disappointed or down right mad I spent the money. How can you ask such a high price tag, when you cannot even make outdated dishes correctly? Trust me, I love the fact that you have turned potatoes, dauphinoise, and other outdated pseudo-French affair, but it is not even done to the basic standard that is taught at the laziest culinary school. Our corned beef was not even simmered long enough, so it was extremely chewy (even to the point of not being able to chew some bites), our cabbage was cut into 1/8 full chunks that were boiled in (good lord I hope it wasn't the actual brine water because it was flavorless) salted water, and the whole thing was seasoned like it came from a lunch special carryout diner. read more

This lovely restaurant is a gem we found by chance. We came late (8:00pm.) in the evening and ordered the prime rib and coconut shrimp. The food prepared by Rosa, & the service were excellent. We will surely return soon to try some of the other dishes on the very interesting menu. What a great experience in this day and age of corporate restaurants. This place was the worst! The waitress was rude from the very beginning. We asked for a beer menu and she gave us attitude. When we asked for beers on draft she acted very inconvenienced to have to repeat herself. She was slow from the beginning but once our orders were placed it got worse. Our food didn't come for over an hour. A friend had to leave to put her toddler to bed and never got eat...thats how long it took. The manager told us he would comp everything then came back and said he would cover the meals but not the drinks. After repeatedly telling us that our food was being plated and it never coming, we tried to leave. He stopped us on our way out and told us the food was ready. The food was actually pretty good and in the end they did end up comping everything, so they did their best to resolve the situation. However, I wouldn't put myself through the aggregation to go back to this place. read more
