Service was friendly and attentive, and we had our soft drinks almost immediately, which is always a good sign when you're on a lunch schedule. For my meal, I ordered the buffalo chicken chopped salad. It was packed with protein, super fresh, and had just the right amount of dressing....enough to bring everything together without overpowering the ingredients. Hello folks, I just want to give you this review about Joey's yard arm. This place has been around since the early 80s and it changed ownership recently within the past five years, but it's still the same old Great taste in seafood that you can get in the city. That's what they're known for. Mainly is the different variations of seafood that they have. Yes they do have other stuff besides seafood that you can order but if you're a seafood lover, then definitely stop in here and check it out! The service is good and they're friendly and they give you a lot of respect and do the best they can do make you feel at home and welcome. As far as the setting is nice it's got that sailor like background as if you just came off the ship from the lake and enjoying a meal with your sailor buddies. You have to go there to understand what I'm talking about but still it's nice. So if you're looking for seafood, I would definitely recommend stopping in here and check it out. Joeys is definitely a local bar/restaurant. If the crowd on a Monday night in September is any indication, Joeys Yardarm is beloved in the community. We sat at the bar and Larry the bartender is good at mixing cocktails. Dirty vodka martinis for my partner and Manhattans for me were solid! Lots of fish on the menu, so we indulged. I had perch, my partner had walleye. Both were good. We didn't try anything else, but the burgers looked good too. We felt at home, and will return when we come back to Racine. Oh my goodness. Don't walk, run to this place. It is awesome! The service was excellent 10/10 Food was absolutely amazing and so filling. Fish fry 7 days a week. The cod was so delicious The crab cake lunch/ dinner was the best and that is coming from someone who used to live in the West Coast and loves crab cakes. The cheese curd were so mouthwatering, I have never in my life had absolutely delicious cheese curds like these. The beer was so good. After all it is a spotted cow. It is a cute place. It's been a minute since we have eaten at Joey's Yardarm for lunch. It didn't disappoint. We started with a bowl of sausage and potato, which was a satisfying cream base. The perch dinner was served with coleslaw and their famous Sand Dollars. The shrimp dinner was a grilled skewer also served with Sand Dollars and cocktail sauce. The food was flavorful and satisfying and the portions were generous. For lunch or dinner, you would be happy you went. read more

We came for lunch, based on a recommendation from one of the S.C. Johnson tour guides. This restaurant is skilled at frying. The sand dollar potatoes were great, as were the eggplant fries and the beer-battered bluegill. We would come back for those. We also had the pizza burger, which was this month's special and made with a brat patty. The brat patty was spicier than I expected, but overall it was good. On a trip to Racine, Wisconsin this past weekend... we decided to try some of the local flavor down by the marine docks. We had a couple of choices in mind, and were so lucky to choose Joey's Yardarm! Upon arrival, we were greeted like locals with a very friendly crew of bartenders and waitresses, who had smiles a mile wide! We began with the rock crab and shrimp dip which was a brimming bowl amazingly creamy, well balanced, with a flavor to die for! We decided to go easy, as very filling and hearty in and of itself! The appetizer menu was quite large with a terrific variety of exciting choices! Hard to make a decision! The main menu has even more than what you would expect from a seafood themed restaurant, but with emphasis on a wide variety of fish and seafood choices. I was very excited to see Blue Gill on the menu, but decided to go with the perch dinner per our waitress's suggestion. My husband chose the Lobster BLT. The Perch platter was large and accompanied by a creative cole slaw vinegar based with cilantro and was quite nice and a pleasant departure from the creamy sort. I was disappointed they did not have the Eggplant Fries, which I was dying to try... but settled for their Famous Sand Dollars, which are homemade thin sliced potato chips doused with house blend seasoning and tons of grated parmesan! Came with a horseradish based dipping sauce, a perfect accompaniment. OMG... so freakin' delicious! The perch was perfectly delicate and light with four large pieces and literally melted in your mouth! My husband's Lobster BLT did not disappoint, though he is a hearty eater and may have been better if he choose one of the many fish platters. He actually helped me with my perch, as it was more than I could eat in a sitting! So... all in all, you gotta come try this place! Such a comfortable, friendly, light and cheery atmosphere, and our waitress Schae, was so sweet, nice, and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great first time experience! Old, warm, cozy, unique, fun and full of people every time I come (albeit some of them are really heavy smokers and the smell drifts over if you're close enough... and if you don't smoke yourself...)! Make sure you leave room for their ice cream pie dessert! Ask for extra sauce for the sand dollars. If they are every soggy, just ask for a new plate - the servers are extremely helpful and will work with you! The review is mostly for the atmosphere and the service. We had dinner elsewhere and just came for drinks and dessert - which was awesome - so no comment on the food. That said, I did come here last year for dinner, twice, with friends. This place is a super cute little nautical themed restaurant near downtown Racine. Once you walk in you feel like you stepped aboard a ship. My boyfriend and I came for lunch while in town for a wedding. It's pretty small inside so I imagine it gets packed on the weekends. For food we shared the cheese curds to start. They were cooked to perfection and I loved the tangy sauce that came with them. For a meal we shared the platter of perch. It was easily enough for two people to share. The fish was very fresh and didn't have too much breading which I liked. The sand dollars were good as well, sort of like a mix between a chip and french fries. I had the shrimp wrap (yum) I didn't want to set it down but I was in public so I had to. My friends had the shrimp po'boy and the lobster BLT and both were happy with their sandwiches. Sand dollars didn't disappoint either. Great experience except for the service. It took awhile to even be acknowledged once we sat down.
