Seriously none if the girls looks like they are over 11 but the crank out the orders with a smile on their faces the whole time. I've driven by but didn't get to stop here until today. I enjoyed the Lime Hawaiian ice. It was the perfect cool treat on a hot day. The little umbrella was nice presentation & very cute. I'll try to be nice here but this is one of those little town places you may be curious about. We were too. The appeal brought us in but we were not hungry. So, we just ordered shakes. I'm not really sure they could be classified as milkshakes. Well, I was less than impressed nonetheless. Burger King and McDonald's have better shakes. Well, except for the Shamrock shake, that's pretty much crap. But, the Sundae Shop is not much better. I ordered the Strawberry shake and my wife the Cookie Dough. It appears what they do use is mediocre vanilla ice cream and toss in a few spoons of ingredients. So what you get is a plan vanilla shake with a few bits of flavor. It's not impressive at all. A vanilla shake with a couple chunks of strawberry. It's just Meh! Sundae Shop listen up. Use better vanilla and get some flavoring. Such as a quality strawberry flavor and toss in a few real strawberries. Blend it up and toss on a couple more strawberries to impress me or make me think it's home made. The cookie dough wasn't much better. Maybe if I ever pass through this town, hopefully never, I'll try a chili dog or a burger. You must be known for something good with the traffic flow. I ordered fries and a sundae, it was 7 pm and not busy. waited 25 minutes and no fries. one of the 4 teenage girls working came up and asked "are you guys okay" we let them know we never got our fries and she said they were working on them. we waited another 5 minutes and left without getting any fries. most of them were on their phones the whole time. really disappointing. read more

You walk up to the window and place your order and pay, and then when your order is ready, they call your number. A little old fashioned walk up grill. The employees are always hard working, and it's usually crowded. Their shakes are real ice cream and delicious. Burgers, fries, and hotdogs are exactly what a drive-in should taste like. Unless you're turning toward Locust on the way out, leaving the restaurant parking lot is treacherous. If you're headed west, you have to take your chances on busy 24/27 or busy 601. I don't mind telling you the traffic situation often makes me eat somewhere else. read more

This was a Yelp recommendation per the usual.. looking for food on the back roads while headed to Myrtle Beach. We stopped here to grab a quick bite (bacon cheeseburger and fried fish sandwich) and it satisfied the cravings! Very cute spot in Midland, reminded me of a classic Dairy Queen. I wanted to try a yummy shake, but in the interest of a 3+ hour car ride I passed. I did try a small vanilla cone with fruity pebbles which was good, but it was melting because it was so hot! Boy is this little restaurant a happening place! We were there on a Tuesday at 3pm and it was pleasantly hopping. We only tried their ice cream, but others had burgers and they looked really good. They have soft serve ice cream and hand dipped. We tried the hot fudge cake sundae and 2 scoops of birthday cake ice cream. We enjoyed them all. Even though you are in a parking lot, they do have plenty of picnic tables to sit and enjoy your food. Most chose that option, even though it is sitting right on a busy road. When I was a boy, on hot summer days my Mom--who loved treats--would pile my brother, sister, and I along with our large dogs into the car. Off we'd head to a local dairy farm that also ran a burger/hot dog/ice cream shop similar to this one. We'd each get our choice of ice cream including the dogs. It was always a wonderful time. Unfortunately, most of these places have long disappeared so finding one in Midland was a great surprise. I ordered an old school favorite: peanut butter malted milk shake! So very good. The big ol' heavy straw didn't collapse when a heavy draw is put on it. For those who don't like thick shakes, a long spoon is provided to reach all the way to the bottom of the cup.
