The atmosphere is relaxing, the blankets are comfortable, & I appreciated the Christian music and R&B that often played during appointments. It was easy to relax & even fall asleep while getting my lashes done. One issue I experienced involved excessive lash fallout shortly after an appointment. When I brought it to their attention, I felt there was an initial attempt to place the blame on me. During that same situation, I was encouraged to book a full set despite having recently received one & was asked to return the following day to complete the service. While the issue was eventually resolved professionally, the experience left me feeling frustrated & undervalued as a client. Over time, I realized that something always felt off in the overall client experience. I'm not expecting friendship from someone providing a service, but with personal services like lashes, waxing, nails, or massages, clients naturally develop a level of comfort & familiarity. Although there were moments where they were kind, I often felt more tolerated than genuinely appreciated despite my continued support of the business. There were also several moments where communication & rescheduling felt unnecessarily difficult. One interaction that stood out was being placed on hold for over 15 minutes. While on hold, I called from another number & the call was answered immediately. The reaction once realizing it was me made the interaction feel uncomfortable. I also invited them to participate in a volunteer empowerment event for young girls because I believed they could be positive role models & demonstrate what entrepreneurship & success in the community can look like. I viewed it as an opportunity to give back & encourage young girls to see successful women who looked like them pursuing their goals & building businesses of their own. While I fully respect everyone's right to value their time & services, a last-minute disagreement regarding compensation ultimately led us to withdraw the invitation. The situation reinforced some of the concerns I already had regarding communication & professionalism. Looking back, I realize I focused heavily on the quality of the work while overlooking how the overall experience made me feel as a client. The lashes were beautiful, & I still believe both women are highly skilled. However, over time I learned that talent alone is not enough for me personally. Professionalism, communication, & making clients feel genuinely welcomed matter just as much as the final result. If your priority is solely the lash work itself, you may have a positive experience. As soon as I sat down she stated that I could do a stronger peel and did not ask me or give me a choice between the 2. and she did not know my skin and she put a stronger chemical on my face. She stated that she has been creating concoctions for her other clients and they had good results. But she did not give me a choice whether I wanted what I actually booked compared to what it is that she wanted to do and my skin has suffered greatly. My face was on fire when she applied the peel and she even wanted to do a second coat until I said NO! My skin now has chemical burns on my cheeks and my chin and this was a horrible experience! I'm sure the people she made these concoctions for trying to play chemist also had terrible results. She did not know my skin and as professional she should not be recommending stronger chemicals as everyone knows low and slow is the best way to go ESPECIALLY ON BLACK SKIN! When I got my sensi peel with her last year which was my first chemical peel, before I barely sat in the chair she was telling me to get the Vi Peel stating the sensi "wouldn't really peel" and I told her no because I was new to chemical peels which she knew because I made that clear when I entered the room. so clearly that's her thing to be a FAKE chemist giving people stronger chemicals and not knowing their skin. I wish I remembered my sensi experience with her because I would have booked with Carla and NOT her. As Carla did my 1st Vi Peel last year and she did not recommend anything stronger or pressure me. Wendy did not even state what it was exactly she was putting on my face. She did not give details or the percentage and I asked her days later via text and she still didn't confirm. She gave me her number and put me in an Uber to go home and she charged me for a cheaper peel and not the Vi Peel since that's not what she gave me but that clearly shows her guilt knowing that she messed up my face with an entirely too strong chemical. I'm on day five and the peel still has not fully come off of my face. I don't know how much longer it's going to take for it to come off compared to when I got the vi peel I was done peeling by day 6 and that won't be the case in this situation. The parts that have already peeled, my skin underneath is so much lighter because it's burned and the chemical went to a deeper layer. so now I'm going back to my dermatologist and praying that this can be reversed and my pigment is fully restored. Wendy should not be allowed to see or treat clients because she's not good at it, she recommends higher degrees of chemicals which has negative affects on peoples faces, because I'm sure that I'm not the only person that has had this experience. Won't be returning here!
