If I could give a ZERO I would! Took my 7 year old for fillings today! Everything was going fine until he started complaining about pain. The Assistant (Alexa) was ignoring the fact that he was crying, kicking, yelling and choking on his spit. I kept telling her he was in pain and she kept telling me he's not. That it feels "weird" because it's numb but has no pain. I kept telling her he's in pain and he usually doesn't act like this. I also told her he was choking and all she said was he feels like that because he's not breathing with his nose but he's not really choking. However he was getting red and full on choking on his saliva. I had to tell her to stop multiple times and when she finally removed everything my son told us the issue and that he felt like he was choking/going to die but by that time the assistant was pissed off about it. While I was trying to soothe and calm my son down she was sitting there infuriated. I finally told her we would come back and she said she'd notify the dentist and stormed out. The dentist talked to us and suggested we continue the treatment, so when my son was calm we proceeded with the procedure. When some adjustments were made he felt better and didn't cry or fuzz. By the end of the visit the assistant was rude and acted like she didn't want us to be there anymore. Also, it seemed like she rushed the work so now I'm worried about it not being done correctly. I have never experienced anything like this and I will not be going back there! I'm sure she's happy about. This was so traumatizing for both my son and I! read more

I took my daughter to super dentist one time. They messed up the time and we had to wait for a while. The appointment was a few minutes and never made a follow up appointment. Over the last year super dentist has called or texted me no less than 20 times. I have opted out, asked to be removed and every few weeks get a call that we have "an appointment tomorrow" that we never made. read more

We prefer the Escondido office, the Oceanside office is not fun to my daughter anymore + the orthodontist assistants kept messing up over several visits. Needless to say we will not be going to the Oceanside office for orthodontist service. read more

Superdentists DID take the time to reach out to me, which acknowledged their mistakes, which is why I went from 1 star to 3. Customer service is important. I will try them again and hopefully receive a 5 star experience that I can review on. read more

Dr. Sara and Frank have taken such good care of my 8 year old who needed an expander and braces. Her mouth has changed exactly as they said it would making room for her new teeth to come in. I appreciate they are taking such good care of her smile but also grateful how tear free they made the process for her! read more

I would have put a 5 star on this review had it not been for the dentist that saw my children saying that my all 3 of my children had cavities (3 children under 6)-- I got a second opinion that confirmed that none of my children had cavities! First of all, the space for the dentist office is amazing which is why I decided to switch my children here. I wanted them to enjoy their dental experience-- they loved playing before there appointment. Second-- the dental hygienist was very sweet with the kids. They were short staffed that day so initially it was one hygienist trying to balance working on all three of my children. But I didn't mind, I was being patient even with my two year old getting wiggly. Lastly-- what threw off the visit for me was the dentist who didn't speak a word to me or my children. Just looked in their mouths quickly. After all three children were checked by the dentist, he walked away and the hygienists approached me to tell me that the front office would give me the breakdown of costs for my three childrens cavities. I went with my gut and requested their medical records (x-rays) to have my dentist friend review them. She didn't see any sign of cavities. Makes me sad that I had to get a second opinion-- I had great experiences with my childrens dentists in the past. read more

Update I feel this corporation does not provide proper liability insurance for their dentist. This is why they ask individuals to go to the doctor to sign a waiver, a waiver that releases them from liability at performing a medical procedure. My doctor refused to sign it because why would your doctor wish to take the responsibility of another doctors procedure? No real doctor would sign off on a waiver, allowing another doctor to do the work and for them to take the responsibility of that work it's just a sketchy sign that somethings not right with this Dental corporation and because my doctor refused to sign it, even though she provided a two page report of everything that they needed to know in order to perform the procedure. They still refused to do the dental work so now I need to find a new dentist, which is perfectly fine, because why would I go to a dentist in which the owned corporation doesn't feel strongly about providing proper liability insurance for the dentist. It's all smoke and mirrors makes the kids happy to be in their butt too many problems within the corporation read more

Came for a 9am appointment for my two year old to get a crown & a filling. I was told she can't eat two hours before the appointment so I woke her at 6am so she wouldn't be hungry after the procedure. They had us waiting over an hour! My child got hungry in the waiting room and is extra tired. I would've kept my later appointment if I knew we'd wait this long. Children that played w my child were seen and came back out before she was called. Other parents mentioned their child had to sit in the chair waiting for the dentist for 25 min even after being called. They don't do anesthesia here. And they should. I didn't know any better, I brought my child here for dental work that needed to be done, and I never knew better that strapping your kid down during an appointment where they're scared and uncomfortable was abnormal. They *did* ask me if I wanted to continue, but the work needed to be done and I told them to finish what they started. They were prepared. They had head, body and legs straps (like a psych ward) to strap her while they did their work. My daughter didn't used to be scared of the dentist. She is now, and it's going to take therapy to undo what's been done. I feel tremendous guilt for not knowing better, but I should've seen the signs. Every kid that I saw came out that office was crying and bleeding and scared. My advice to new parents, ask around and see if this kind of treatment is normal among doctors/dentists. Just do the anesthesia. These aren't super heroes, it's just a dentist office as scary as any other, just with pretty pictures. read more

They deserve 0 stars! I've opt out messages and told them to take me off their calling list. Still getting calls to set up appointments. Leave me alone! I'm surprised this horrible of place where they have no care for kids just parents money. Make up lies that kids need fillings and crowns so they get more of a payment! They STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!! Stay far away from this chain (I wouldn't even call it a dentist). Unless you want them to lie to you and not even clean your kids teeth properly. They make more money by lying to your face telling you your kids have to go under bc thats where they make their money. I know people who use to work there and say they get In trouble for spending more than 5min on "cleaning" your child's teeth. That not what they want. Because they get no money from teeth cleanings. The super dentist is a great place to bring your kids. Everyone is always really nice and gentle making sure your kids are comfortable while getting any dental work. They make sure to cater to their needs so they have a great visit. My kids love that they also get to watch cartoons while they get their teeth cleaned. I don't write 5 star reviews often, but I have to here. My 10 y/o son has aspergers, and because of this, we have tried out every single local dentist within a 20 mile radius. Everyone advertised that they are "good with kids" cool! But... being good with kids has nothing to do with being good with special needs kids- they are a different breed. Therefore, I couldn't continue care at any of the other offices because they didn't know how to help my son, nor would they allow me to assist and help. I noticed right off the bat that the assistant, the dentist and the orthodontist all had something in common here: they were able to adapt to a situation and mold their approach to my son in a way that got him to open up... literally. This review is 90% about the dental assistant, because he was the one who sat with my son for over an hour talking to him, being on his level, building trust, reasoning with him and made him secure in himself. He also allowed me to do my part and offer my assistance, and for that, I'm grateful. No mother wants to stand by and watch her child go through a situation that could potentially cause more trauma, when she knows she can help ease frustration and fear: and they allowed me to help. Once we got him to open his mouth, it was downhill from there. They worked quickly yet delicately and were able to finish the job. Here's another 10 stars on top of the 5 allowed by Yelp: The dental assistant not only did his job that he got paid for, but on top of it... he stimulated my sons physical touch needs by using the air gun on his forehead along with a wet cloth. This, for an aspie, is absolute heaven. Being stimulated while in a stressful situation is literally gold when it comes to my son, and I couldn't believe he took the time to do this. Lastly, this office staff was wonderful in helping me be able to make a payment plan that I could afford. They worked with what I could pay today, and build a trust-based payment plan so that my son could get the care he needed now. I am blown away and 100% thankful for all of you. My three year old son had his very first dentist appointment today and had the best experience! The staff was so friendly and patient with him. Due to covid the iPads and gaming areas are closed but they still made our experience just as enjoyable and entertaining. My son had his X-rays taken, his teeth cleaned, and his molars sealed. They explained everything to him and what they were going to do, step by step, throughout the entire process. They took their time with him to make sure he understood everything and was calm and comfortable before doing anything or moving onto the next step. My son now loves the dentist and can't wait to go back in 6 months. read more

A truly deserved 1 star review! My son was given a laundry list of unnecessary procedures, with an out-of-pocket cost of $5000. Less than two weeks later, we went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere with a less than $500 out-of-pocket expense. Saved ourselves $4500! The most frustrating part was the treatment my son received. I advised the assistant multiple times that she had clamped his mouth too wide, causing him to repeatedly gag. Eventually that led to a panic attack, and my son threw up in his mouth. Instead of sucking out the puke, or sitting him upright both the dentist and assistant backed away and left him there choking on his own throw-up. After realizing they were just going to leave him there, I jumped up and grabbed my son and titled him forward. The dentist initially acknowledged what happened, by asking me in a frustrated manner if I fed him before coming in. No. My son fasted for 3 hours, your recommendation was for 2 hours. They gave no comfort, or reassurance to my son. I promised my son I would NEVER take him back to this place. Our new dentist solved all these problems, to the point my son is actually looking forward to his next visit. Don't take your kid here unless you want to be overcharged for wiping your kids puke off his shirt. read more

My kids' (4.5 and 3.5 years old) first-time at the dentist was a success at The Super Dentist Escondido Location. The staff were great, especially Aurora and Tony. Everything went smoothly and efficient. The staff knew how to get my kids to cooperate. To my surprise, they were able to clean, take X-rays, and exam my 3.5 year old son's teeth without him being too much of a challenge. We will definitely be making this our kids' home dental office. read more

I have never encountered so many problems within a business before interacting with The Super Dentists. I was skeptical about continuing my son's treatment here when, at his first appointment, I had to sign a consent form that included permission for the workers to yell at him if they felt he wasn't cooperating. I understand that it is at times difficult to work with children, but there are other dental practices that get by without resorting to yelling. Another concern was the extra fee they tacked onto my son's future treatment plan, separate from what they were going to charge my insurance. They tried to explain that it was because they are considered specialists since they work with children. Pediatric dentistry has been around for ages and again, there are other dental practices that do not charge extra to work with children. I have decided to move on to a different dentist entirely, but I am still having issues with The Super Dentists. Four months after my son's appointment I received a bill for $64 and a threat to be sent to collections if I did not pay. There was no explanation as to why I owed them money, only a form to fill out with my credit card information. After calling The Super Dentists I was told to disregard the bill as it was an error on their part. But if I wasn't diligent with following up I could have just as easily sent the money and been out $64. Which brings me to today. I received a text message stating that "Your visit with The Super Dentists has been reserved for you at Wed, Mar 30 2022 at 10:00AM." This is an appointment that I *never* made. The Super Dentists scheduled it without my permission and now I have to scramble to get it cancelled, otherwise they'll charge me a cancellation fee. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. Their shady practices aren't worth the headache for you or your child. read more
