I got scheduled with Lydia and she was so awesome! I wanted to go from my waist length hair to a cute long bob (first time in my life with short hair!) and color my hair. So disappointed. I don't feel like the stylist listened or gave me what I wanted. She did give me a big change but she gave me that stupid long wedge you see on every other middle aged woman right now. I hate looking like everyone else. Also, my hair is curly. I wanted a style that would suit my curls and be very easy to style. I don't want to spend much time on my hair so it has to be a kind of wash and go style for daily wear. She blow dried it straight. I told her I will never do that and I wanted to see what it looked like curly. She said she always blow dries her cuts out so she can see where it may need to be trimmed and so it looks more "polished." She hacked ("texturized") so much of my hair that I feel like I went to a groomer not a hair salon. And there is nothing I can do now but wait for it to grow out. I can't put the hair back on. Oh well. Live and learn. I'll go back to my old salon in 6 months when there will hopefully be enough hair to cut again. I certainly won't set foot in Swank again. read more

First of all I love the Swank Studio! The dynamic there is awesome. I always feel so comfortable and welcomed by everyone. I'm beyond proud to say my hair stylist is Angela. If I could give Angela more stars I would! I love her!!! It's so hard to find a great hairstylist and I'm so thankful I found her. I can be pretty indecisive at times but know that I want to do something different with my hair. She always has great ideas and knows the latest hair trends. This past summer my hair was ombré and I can't tell you how many compliments I got. Once fall came around I went darker and absolutely loved it. She knew how to take my hair from a blonde to brunette without it being so shocking because she knows what colors go well with your skin tone. Needless to say she is amazing with color. Not happy with service there lately. Tried to get in one week later than my allotted time frame for my free grey touch-up. I was moving my residence and was sick the week I was suppose to go in! I had a great experience here. I attended the grand opening as I live in the complex where the studio is located. I made an appointment with Courtney for a deep conditioning treatment and my hair has never felt better. I've been highlighting my hair for about a year now and it's been hard to keep my hair in good condition. I can't wait to try out the shampoo/conditioner that they have! Went here last week and got a wonderful haircut from Nichole! As a guy, it's incredibly hard to find hair stylists who take their time and really listen to what I want. As compared to you know...just shaving my head and waving me out the door. With Nichole, she made sure we were on the same page before cutting -- then her talent took over. I haven't been this satisfied with a cut in a long time. Plus, the whole staff is friendly. The place has cool vibes, it's in a nice shopping center, it's affordable. I couldn't be happier. As soon as you walk in you're immediately greeted. The atmosphere is so welcoming and warm. Everyone is nice and have really great personalities. I went into this salon with messed up hair due to box dye. I had really light roots and the rest of my hair was darker. I was really unhappy with my hair. Angela took care of me. She gave me a haircut because my hair was really dead and had a lot of split ends, then she made my hair one color then put in partial highlights and sytled my hair to perfection. I have never been to a salon since I was in elementary school up until last year when I chose to come here. Probably the biggest mistake I've ever made. I came in with high hopes for CHANGE not to just drop $150 to have my hair cut and curled. No, I came in to have my hair bleached. Which I clearly saw the bleach in my hair?? And somehow, I don't know what the stylist did, but when I came home my husband and family questioned what exactly did they do to my hair other than make it curly and short. My hair was and is still brown. No lighter, no darker. I am disappointed for my time and money I wasted. Great employees, but terrible at their job. read more

Angela, who was recommended by Deva Curl, is my favorite stylist of all time. The Swank Studio, which is the third salon I've followed Angela to . . . is still convenient for me. I must add, when I lived in Northern California I would make my hair appointments to coincide with my visits to my daughter in San Diego, and Angela always worked me in. Now, I live in Florida and I basically travel across country to get my hair cut!!
