For what's been several years now, there hasn't been a day that I haven't seen a long line out this door, especially in the summer. Neighborhood locals will tell you it's because it's the only ice cream near the area, but I beg to differ. I don't think I've had smoother and more silky ice cream in my life to date. When in Chicago, the wife, grandchildren and myself always visit Sweet Oasis. The ice cream and gelato is to die for. This place gives large fist size scoops along with softies long as eight to ten inches. It was business as usual for a Friday and a line around the block. I got four soft cones chocolate and vinalla mixed for the girls and a two scoop Sunday of blueberry waffle cone and Chocolate Cherry the wife and I. This place is one of the few place left. That give you more than what you pay for. I paid under $26 dollars for the giant servings I received. The owner is Chris and believe me. You will leave this place satisfaction guaranteed. Wow!! Delicious ice cream. So many options. So popular. Place is small and the line winds around the inside of the store. Going as a newbie, I was confused but followed the crowd. You order at one end then walk down to the other end of the counter to pay. If you have a party of a few orders, you need to let them know. It's one employee that helps the whole party. We had 4 different orders. The pistachio hazelnut twist was soft serve. It was good but the taste of the pistachio was weak. The hazelnut was strong. He liked it but wished for more of the pistachio flavor. I wanted the ube matcha twist. They ran out of matcha. Do I just got an ube twist. It was good. I would get it again. My niece got a peach and chocolate cup. The idea seemed different and we didn't think it was good. But when I tried it, it was awesome. Then the last one was a banana split with ube, chocolate peanut butter and Cookie Monster ice cream. The Cookie Monster made my nephews tongue blue. He was so cute. They were pleased with the choices. They've been there often. There is no place to park. The lot is very small. So parking in the street and around the neighborhood. People sat on the curb, in their cars. There were tables and chairs outside but all taken. We'll be back. read more

The BEST ice cream spot in the area! It's always busy and sometimes has long lines, but the employees move REALLY fast! They have some seats inside to hang out in the AC but have outdoor seating as well once those fill up. Pricing is also great! This place never disappoints. They have so many different flavors and there scoops are huge for a really good price. They are always helpful and there's usually a line but it gets moved quickly. They also have Gelato and have many different options to choose from from banana splits to sundaes to everything in between. Insanely yummy, creamy and massive soft serve with chocolate hardshell dip on waffle cone (with a little up charge). The best spot for ice cream out there. Family run business and it's so good. Over 30 flavors of ice cream so different than your usual. Many times they switch them out so when you get the chance get what you can before they switch them. Many flavors or toppings from cinnamon toast crunch to lucky charm marshmallows, graham cracker crust, mints etc. Prices aren't too bad, since inflation yes it has gone up a little but nothing crazy. I paid around $4 or $5 for a scoop of Banana Cream Pie ice cream and cinnamon toast crunch cereal topping. When I tell you this flavor is spot on, believe me it is. The pie crusts in it adds an additional soft crunch which I really like. Just recently renovated and open for the summer only!! Oh and FIY lines are long but it is worth the wait !! read more

So of course I had to go check it out for myself, WOW do they have a selection there was so many flavors it was hard to make a choice but I finally ended on key lime pie, blueberry cheese cake, and superman. Superman being my favorite but the other two were very good and tasted like the foods they were flavored like. And boy are the portions big! Each scoop is as big as a baseball. Last spring we kept driving up and asking the owner when will the open. I'm afraid he was going to start thinking we were stalkers. I think we came here at least 4-5 times a week from when they opened until the closed for the season I believe last month! Omg! So good. Single scoop or sundae, damn! All so good!!! I think we we're acting like addicts. Each evening as we stood in line for God knows how long wrapped around the building and inside the store. Ridiculously long line and i don't do lines. But I'll do a line any day for sweet oasis. 31 flavors or other chain like ice cream shoppes do not measure up to the quality, quantity, price and service. I was so tempted to ask to buy the entire tub of bourbon pecan or chocolate peanut butter but I'm sure my husband would end up kicking me and the tubs out due to his peanut allergies. A girl can fantasize can't she? Anyway, if you haven't tried them out, plan on it. They'll possibly be open by Memorial Day weekend if we're lucky. OK. So hubby has a HUGE sweet tooth and a separate stomach for ice cream. We hit TWO different Baskin Robbins locations. The first one had no ice cream and the other was closed. Found this place and so glad we did. Mom and pop shop with TONS of flavors. I went with some a kids scoop of some hard core chocolate choice while hubby got a one scoop "split" consisting of two flavors- watermelon sherbet and pineapple sherbet. The total for two was $9 with a $1 tip. Scoops were big. I almost had to call it quits on my kiddie scoop because it was too big and I don't have a second stomach for ice cream. They have every flavor, sundaes, banana splits, floats, milkshakes, cones etc. Every single ice cream treat will be supersized if you get it double scooped, I'm serious...please be ready to have a ice cream overload lol. I think my family and I went 2 nights in a row. You will be greeted as soon as you step on the door. The menu is big and easy to read. If you want it to go, no problem. The packaging for sundaes is so cool that it seems like it's the same as if you are your sweet treat there. I got a 2 scoop sundae with vanilla and strawberry ice cream. I have always loved Sweet Oasis but was very disappointed with the service I experienced today (5/17/2025). I waited 45 minutes before being helped. While there was a decent amount of people in line, I don't believe that was the reason it took so long. The younger workers moved very slowly and showed no sense of urgency, causing the line to move very slowly. There was one worker who only rang customers up, so the worker who took my order had to wait and tell her what to ring up which also added to the wait time. I've worked in retail and I don't think the way Sweet Oasis is running is efficient. The ice cream was great but the service ruined my experience. read more

Wow, this place is amazing. I can't believe that I only recently heard of it. They have six flavors of soft serve and a whopping SIXTY-FOUR flavors of hand-dipped ice cream. Both are really good, particularly the old-fashioned stuff. And of course you can get sundaes, shakes, parfaits, "Razzlers" (i.e. Blizzards), basically anything made with ice cream. There are tons of choices of toppings. But wait--they also have italian ice AND snow-cones.
