Plenty of yummy flavors to take home in various sizes!

Time to update the review since it's been 7 years. What can I say, it still reighs supreme. By far the best ice cream ever. I do not taste the sugar from commercial ice creams. The flavours are exquisite. My favourites are ube, avocado , durian, cantaloupe and the pomelo sherbet.

I love Village Creamery. I come here and always get their Ube flavored ice cream. It's nice to have a Filipino ice cream parlor in the city that offers your traditional Filipino ice cream flavors along with some traditional American Flavors. What are Filipino flavors you ask? Well there is my go to which is the ube. Ube is part of the sweet potato family but it's deep purple in color. It's sweet and somewhat nutty and it is truly making its name out there right now, especially in Chicago. They also have buko pandan - a coconut flavor, and cheese and corn. Yes you read that right - but don't knock it til you try it! The ice cream shop is small and they only have a few small tables and chairs available, so it's not great for large groups. Samples are available so if you are not sure about a flavor, don't be scared to ask to try it. Service has usually been pretty quick whenever I come, so no complaints there.

The only thing that is iffy about this fab ice cream parlor is the parking. If it's full when you arrive, just circle around a few times. You don't want to miss out on the creamy and unique ice cream flavors they have in this Fil-Am owned/operated shop! Happy young people serve your treats. There are a few tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your order, but don't stay too long so that others can sit, too. Smile, smiles, and more smiles are the result of visiting Village Creamery!

Buko pandan and red bean scoops on an ube waffle cone!!!

O.M.G. amazing flavors! Asian inspired! So delicious! I had a buko pandan and red bean scoop in an ube waffle cone.... simply wonderful! I can't even think about eating anything the rest of the day, it's so filling! Wonderful! Great service too... I was really indecisive so I tasted many flavors before getting it!

Lots of different flavors available from your standard vanilla and chocolate to your more tropical/SEA flavors of ube and jackfruit. The ice cream was delicious and smooth. You get a lot for the price. The staff were very nice and helpful. They also sell ice cream in pints to take home. There's some seating but it's a little cramped. I didn't get a chance to try the queso ice cream so that'll be the plan for when I visit again.

Yum, our first visit here in years and it was a treat. We used to frequent the long ago closed Village Creamery in Skokie years ago but never came here much for whatever reason and despite passing by frequently. I had a halo-halo shaved ice for $10.29. It was a colorful, flavorful, delicious, and satisfying treat. Besides the various content items, I also really particularly enjoyed the shaved ice, which with the frozen milk flavoring, was really more ice cream like than say the regular shaved ice that you might find in a Korean bingsoo treat. At $4.95 per scoop, the prices here are slightly elevated, but there are a lot of nice and exotic Filipino based Asian flavors. There is btw a 3.5% credit card charge here also, so bring cash if you want to save a little bit. This ice cream shop stop also had the same typical and uncanny customer traffic flow I've come to expect. It's totally empty one minute (like when we stepped in), and at any moment a herd will step in, and sure enough it happened again while we were here. It's also a smallish space here, so it doesn't take much of a herd to fill it up. It all makes for fun people watching while enjoying your treat. I will endeavor to return sooner than later next time around.

Ambiance: It's a little worn down. Some updating would help it, because from the street there is zero curb appeal, and when entering it just seemed worn out. We checked out flavors, I liked that they went for different ones than a typical icecream shop with a few regulars. But the prices are all whack. For two scoop cone, it was something like $8.95. But for a two scoop sundae, 1 topping, $8.50? How is that cheaper??? It was more items in it! I think it's a bit overpriced. One kid had a scoop of birthday cake in a waffle bowl. She said it was okay. She gave it 3 stars. The second kid had a chocolate scoop in a plain waffle cone. He gave it 2.5 stars. He said the cone wasn't right. Then it leaked all over his clothes. The third kid had cookies and cream. She ate half and threw it out. I had two scoops of rocky road sundae, I think it was okay. 3 stars. Overall I gave it a 2. The 1 employee in hand was professional and quick at getting the order out.

I'm actually extremely shook-ith to my core on this one! I had passed by SO many times throughout the years and heard so many good things. I can't quite answer why I hadn't decided to visit up until yesterday (except for the fact that my husband has an extreme sweet tooth and I knew just where to go after dinner!) Service was great. They have an array of different options! From the outside looking in, I assumed it was more Americanized but it's actually Philippino inspired ! Their most popular ice creams are their Ube and/or Ube Oreo, Cookie Monster and their "Halo Halo" concoction that I can't even describe what's on the inside! It's a MUST try. Unique addt flavors include (but are not limited to): Thai tea, Thai Coffee, Pomelo Sorbet, Lychee Flan, Lychee, Buko Pandan, Jackfruit, Sapin-Sapin...and more! Dying to try their leche flan but it's apparently so delicious and so popular they haven't had it in several weeks !

Yay to ice cream shops with Asian flavors!! This is a small ice cream shop with about 15 seats inside and a few seats, maybe 4 seats outside - up front. I've been coming here for years and love all the flavors here. My favorites are Ube, matcha, Lychee, sapin sapin and durian. The also offer prepacked pints which I mostly saw were Ube and mango. The staff is friendly and patient. Not much interaction since the whole process quick - order your ice cream, get it and eat it lol This place stays consistently busy especially during the summer. This spot has been open for awhile and it's great to see them doing so well.

If you are looking for an ice cream place that is locally owned, makes all their own ice cream flavors and teeters with exotic flavors like mango, jackfruit, avocado and the like, step inside Village Creamery. To folks outside of Skokie and Niles, you may not have heard or been to Village Creamery but it's definitely a spot to visit if you're into ice cream. Being a Filipino owned and operated establishments, they offer your traditional flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and the like but also offer flavors that are found in warmer climates like Mango, coconut, jackfruit, Ube and a bunch of other flavors. You can mix and match or choose them separately. Whichever way you go, the taste of the ice creams are creamy, flavorful and fresh. The ambiance is typical of your other ice cream stores. Many families and kids visiting and enjoying their ice cream desserts in and outside the store. The service is also typical of your local ice cream store. It's really based on good how busy they are.

Yesterday was the first or second 70 degree day of 2026, so the weather was perfect and the seasonal re-opening of the DQ a mile away was to our advantage because the crowd was a bit quieter here and we were able to find a street spot. I think my daughter was overwhelmed when we walked in; there are lots of choices. She could barely contain herself, but I guess that's to be expected of a two year old. I got her a kiddie scoop of decadent chocolate, which she liked but may have been a bit too chocolatey for her. Or maybe she just wanted to taste a bit of mine and was done with the chocolate. I got a single scoop of the caramel ice cream. I'm not really sure if the sizes were different or if it was the size of the cup because they seemed the same. Both ice creams were so flavorful, really rich. It's a dangerous place to stop that's for sure. But next time I'm getting a scoop of each! As with almost all the South Park businesses, there's no dedicated parking. You'll look for street parking. South Park is across the street so I imagine some days at the wading pool with a stop for ice cream afterward are in our future. There's seating both in and outside; we sat outside and it was really pleasant. They have pre-portioned ice cream in a cooler inside as well as ice cream cakes, and a water dispenser as well. They have a little cart that I've seen at various functions around town as well, if you're out and about and happen upon them. You can also rent the cart for your own event! The staff were helpful, the store was neat and tidy. This is a wonderful small business in Park Ridge and we're so lucky to have them here!
