I'm not late to the party
RoseMary F.

I love the vibe here, it's casual mixed with good eats and craft cocktails. It wasn't overly crowded on a weekday happy hour, we snagged a table indoors for a group of 7. We were here to show our So Cal hospitality for our dear friend, Dawne, who was visiting from the Sunshine State of Florida. I had the Disco Inferno Mezcal cocktail made with lime juice, agave and chili salt rim. We indulged on tacos, quesadillas and chips with guacamole and salsa. Order at the bar, you'll be given a number for the staff to find you to deliver food to your table. The food came in a reasonable time, it was tasty and good portions for sharing. There are TVs for watching sports, a pool table and an enclosed patio area (enter the patio from the bar area, cannot gain access from the outside). Street parking with meters (pay with coins or an app). Sincerely, Rosemary

Happy hour on a Wednesday was super chill. The menu easily highlights the HH prices which I appreciate since a lot of places hide it Parking: street parking - residential parking Staff: super friendly and talkative. Great community. Seating: you can sit inside which is kinda dark but once you get used to it, you can see the details on the location. It's super cool! Lots of details and fixtures which gives the place character. There is outside seating too which looks like you are behind bars which is fun Drinks: you have beers on tap, but I tried the margarita and Moscow mule. Both were classic and wasn't watered down Food: yummy nachos and pretzels!

The HighLow Bar used to be stables - lol however we are the ponies now. The bar is horizontally positioned across this lair and the room is pretty to accommodate a large sudden birthday or holiday gather or a spot to hit up before and definitely after the Tam O'Shanters within spitting distance. HighLow appears to sport a Karaoke room in the back with smooth jazz band for a small QR code cost amplifies into the main dining area areas where you can have your seltzer, water and lemon if you're doing dry af January or a very strong well crafted cocktail whether you're high or your low this is a space for you and it definitely gives that necessary anchor point to your Los Feliz or Eagle Rock evening that's that's kind, inclusive and warm welcoming.

So if you are arriving or leaving the TAM and you see this little bar sign sticking out across the street, go, because it's awesome. Cool bartender, great drinks and fabulous history. This place used to be the horse stables for the TAM. Check out the pics, including the picture completely made out of butterfly's...

Met some friends here for happy hour after work. The place was empty at 5pm on a Monday. No windows, dimly lit, high tables, booths and bar stools. Several items on the list for happy hour, We ordered margaritas all around and bought the entire HH menu. Some of my favorites are the guacamole, chicken quesadillas and tacos. I had a great time hanging out with friends here.

Pink drink - not sure of the name since my friend ordered for me - she asked the female bartender for the sweetest drink with vodka

I went to this bar last night for a friend's birthday gathering and it was a fun vibe! I just got a drink - I'm not sure what it was called but it tasted like a pink starburst. My friend asked the female bartender for the sweetest drink with vodka and this is what we got! Picture included. It was pretty good as I'm not a big drinker and didn't taste too strong in my opinion. This is something I would order again. My friend got the nachos - didn't get a picture but the table shared it and it was really good! I believe it was the carnitas nachos and it was both nachos and fries (double check though because I also didn't order this). I would definitely get this again if I went back tho! Service was pretty quick and they were nice. We had a huge group of people who were already inside. When we entered there was a gentleman who checked our IDs. He opened the door for us which was sweet of him. I personally didn't have much interaction with the workers, but my friend did accidentally break a glass and they were quick to spring into action and clean it up so props to them for excellent service and thank you. Ambiance was great too. It was dark, but fun vibes. Karaoke and pool table were good to have! Overall, a great experience and I would definitely visit again if I'm in the area! Great for friends for a night out.

A chill bar with great drinks and really good bar food. It has a nice vibe for a night out, but parking can be hard to find.

Why limit happy to an hour, especially when you're with good friends. Thankfully, Happy Hour is daily at The High Low (Mon - Fri 4 - 7 pm, Sat & Sun 1 - 5 pm). It was a rough week and I was mentally and emotionally drained, so I was grateful to meet the beautiful Bender sisters here for cocktails and conversations. I used to come here when it was The Griffin but haven't had a chance to come back since it's been under new ownership. It looked like I remembered - brick lined walls, lofty ceilings, and rustic wood accents. I was glad that the enclosed firepit was still there since it was part of the charm. There's also a pool table, an outside patio with TVs, Karaoke (Tues, Fri & Sunday), and live music on Mondays. We got a table next to the firepit and ordered from the bar. The bartender was friendly & engaging and he made a mean margarita ($9 during HH). We were vibing to the music. The playlist was fantastic, and the company was priceless. Just what I needed. *Metered street parking or residential side streets.

Another "happy, happy, joy, joy," happy hour hang out! Great vibe inside while sipping your cocktail and noshing on a few crispy fries:). Plenty of seats at the bar and lots of tables for larger groups. Bartenders mix a great margarita and are very friendly. Prices are reasonable. They have trivia & karaoke during the week. Check the website for exact day/times. *Plenty of street parking.

Drinks were a bit pricey but the vibes was really great! Chill crowd and tons of space. Parking can get tricky and might be a 5min walk depending on how far you can find one

Legendary spot to grab a bite and hang. Low lit ambiance but relaxed at the same time. Plenty of great drink options and also an elevated bar menu with your classics. The honey habanero chicken tenders go crazy and they weren't too too hot. Great time all around with great service too. I had more food but ate it too quick smh. Pull up and Stay Eatin' today!

Great friend and quesadillas!

A friend and I decided to celebrate Saint pattys day at the Tam across the street and ended up here for dinner. This place is such a vibe. I have been coming here for eons and more when it was the Griffin, so I'm glad this place stayed a bar and glad the quality has not faltered. They have a pool table and a warm fire. The service was good at the bar and the food came on time. Def would come back when I'm in the area, great for a date or time with close friends. The playlist was random awesome too! They played an old ghostbusters 2 song that I love so much lol appreciated the random music it was a blast!

The vibe is chill & relaxed and there's a suitable selection of tunes on the jukebox. The adjacent Peacock lounge is equally charming and hosts stand-up comedy shows on Thursday nights and DJs on the weekends. (Conan O'Brien did a surprise gig here a few weeks ago.) The back patio is spacious with an outside bar & picnic style seating. I haven't been here in years. In fact, it was before the remodel. A recent trip to the Atwater Farmer's Market inspired me to come back. It was a Thursday evening and JJ was behind the bar. She was absolutely delightful! We had a great conversation while I sipped on the Happy Hour Spicy Margarita. During my visit, several locals stopped in for a drink and to say "Hi" to JJ. This is a great spot to get together with friends. I'll be back soon. *Metered parking or residential.

The food is excellent, having tried the schnitzel, kielbasa, steak frites and pierogis. If you have room in the end, the bread pudding is fantastic. The portions are big and filling and we tend to end up with leftovers. Drinks menu is big, with a variety of creative cocktails and wines. Vibes are different depending on where you sit. Outdoor patio seating is great, and reminds of eating outdoors in a European cafe. Indoor seating is a little cramped if you're at one of the tables, which also sort of mimics European cafes. My one small knock on this restaurant is the service has been inconsistent. Couple times our waiter was great, but a couple times it was hard to flag them down, they didn't space out the dishes very well as the appetizers and entrees all came out the same time, or they forgot to bring water when we asked for it. Small things to complain about overall though.

I know that sounds a little dramatic, but it just feels like a piece of... not LA, in LA. The vibe in there is how I wish so many places were. It's also extremely dimly lit, which I love so much. I can't stand overly bright bars, and this place is at the PERFECT level of that in my opinion. Also the fact that they are keeping bluegrass alive in Los Angeles is incredible. I believe it's every Tuesday night? Check their Instagram to confirm (which by the way they are very active on for their event nights and stuff) which is awesome. Anyways, I love this place so much. 10 out of 10 for me.

Very smooth and not overwhelmingly strong. Refreshing and tasted perfect during a hot Sunday afternoon. Plenty of activities to do here while you enjoy your beer or any other cocktail of your choice. With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
